Crippling Overspecialization: His love of fringe, especially during his final collection. Despite being able to do it beautifully, even Heidi (who loves the fringe) worries he's overusing it. Not helped by Tim Gun's visit when he told him to "turn up the volume" on his collection, and Sean reading that as "add fringe to everything".
Genre Blindness: Knows full well Nina Garcia doesn't like his obsession with fringe, so what does he do? He creates a final collection that's three-quarters fringe! Though it doesn't matter anyway, since he won as Nina find it the most commercially viable of the collection.
Kiwi Accent: Has a very thick accent, since he is from New Zealand
Signature Style: After his win in the Heidi Klum challenge, he started to use fringes in his designs. In his finale collection, he uses a Julius Caesar storyline, along with more fringe.
Stealing the Credit: Won the Rock Wedding challenge ... despite the fact it was Kini who constructed the shirt that the judges were raving about. (the design was his, but Kini was the one who sewed it for him, although it is possible Sean's silence regarding this may have been the result of Manipulative Editing)
Always Second Best Some of his designs have been in the judges' Top 3, and shared a win with Sean, yet he has never won any prize solo until episode 9.
Big Eater He was really excited by the Red Robin Restaurant Challenge, especially when he learned the contestants would be given free fries that day.
Boring, but Practical: People's reaction about his design who were more experience with fashion research. He has great sewing skills and a solid design concept, but his design tends to be dull or derivative.
Fantastic Time Management: The reason why he was consistently praised by the judges is his ability to finish a garment precisely in a short amount of time.
Second Place Is for Losers Though usually calm and cheerful, Kini expressed frustration that when he and Sean were paired up for the wedding challenge, Sean was selected for the win. The kicker? Sean's shirt got the most praise. While the shirt was Sean's design, Kini was the one who actually constructed it.
Lifelines: She's the recipient of the "Tim Gunn Save", since he felt there was some joy missing from the workroom.
In episode 9, when she had trouble fixing the zipper for the model, Tim decided to give Char an additional 10 minutes to finish it, much to the contestants chargin.
Nice Girl: Reason why Tim decided to use his save on her.
Really comes to a point in episode 12 when she genuinely wants to make an effort to patch things up with Korina and the other designers are happier to have her around.
And then averted in the reunion when she complained that Korina was mean and took half the time to agreeing to patch up with Korina.
Took a Level in Jerkass: Notable during the reunion, despite being the Nice Girl during the season she was very harsh to Korina while she tried to apologize to her, and during a segment hearing opinions from fans, she got visibly upset when a fan called her out on not really deserving to have gotten as far as she did.
The Pollyanna: She tried to survive the economic crisis in her town.
Emily Payne
Perky Goth: Somewhat. Her designs looked somewhat old-fashioned or gothic-esque, but she tries to get along with everyone.
Korina Emmerich
Alpha Bitch: Had a tendency to talk smack in the confession cam.
Designated Villain: Other than a extreme explosion in the final episode and a short rivalry with Amanda, she was mostly just too confident for her own good.
Jerkass Has a Point: She, in the worst way possible, expressed that Char had been saved twice by Tim, and that was unfair to the other designers.
Screw This Im Outta Here: When she returned in episode 12, she admitted that she clearly didn't want to be there (and forces herself to work with Char) and eventually got Tim's permission to leave the workroom.
Signature Style: Outerwear, mostly jackets. In her finale collection, Mondrian, leather and colour blocking.
Sore Loser: Ended up extremely frustrated in her final episode, where she verbally lashed out towards everyone (mainly Char and probably the producers). In fact, her final collection was revealed to be inspired by her last design.
Good Is Not Dumb: When Hernan said to her a "Thank you Sandhya again, bitch", Sandhya flipped the bird at him and warned him to never talk to her like that again.
I'm Not Here to Make Friends: Inverted, she genuinely wanted to form friendships, but due to her events in her first two episodes, she's not popular with the other designers.
Loophole Abuse: In Episode 5, when Heidi (who's this season challenge), decided to give the contestants another chance to shop at Mood, she's the only person to ask for money from the other designers who decided not to take the chance.
Nice Girl: She tries to get along with everyone. For the 4th challenge, she tried to give everyone suits according to their styles, even when some of them kept saying she gave them "the ugliest" on purpose.
No Social Skills: Her Fatal Flaw in this show, while she does not have a mean bone in her body, she is sometimes difficult to work and communicate with.
Perfectly Arranged Marriage: Sandhya tells she got married in a traditional arranged marriage, as common in East Indian culture. Lucky for her, she adores her husband, as he turned out to be a Nice Guy who is very supportive of her career as fashion designer.
Shocking Elimination: Sure, her final outfit deserved the auf. But it was this because she won 2 challenges in the early stages of the show, which usually means a ticket to the finale.
Team Killer: Unintentionally, as both times she been on the bottom is was when she was teamed up with other designers.
Funny Foreigner: Even thought he didn't have much screentime, the judges pointed out that his personal style and taste in prints were fun and interesting.
Boring, but Practical: She had a sense of style and ideas, but the final product tends to be boring compared to the other designers (and some of the surprise were extremely hidden in black).
Jerkass: He kept badmouthing Sandhya, and accused her of giving him the most horrible suit on purpose, even when Sandhya herself tried to make everyone understand she tried to match the choices with their styles.
Laser-Guided Karma: He gets eliminated in the episode where he bitched at Sandhya the most.
Never My Fault: He took control over the entire team in the second episode and then blamed Sandhya when the team lost and then spent the entire fourth episode blaming Sandhya for giving him a bad suit when several other designers also didn't like their suits but still managed to produce good looks.
Angela Sum
Hidden Depths: She apparently worked at Wall Street for 7 years.
Mercy Kill: What everybody felt about her auf, as it was not the right environment for her.
