The Protagonists

    Shigeo "Mob" Kageyama

Shigeo Kageyama

The main protagonist of the story. An awkward but gentle-hearted boy who becomes trapped in the world of heroes after his final showdown with President Suzuki. Despite his misplacement, Mob decides to make the most of his situation by enrolling into U.A. so he can use his powers to help others. He's technically Quirkless but his psychic abilities give the impression that he has one of the strongest Quirks of all.

  • Ability Mixing: One of the things he struggles with is using two of his many powers at the same time. This is something that his rivals (Bakugou and Shouto) are aware of and exploit during their respective battles.
  • All-Loving Hero: Shigeo offers genuine kindness and respect to everyone around him. He does his best to support the goals and interests of his fellow students while trying help them however he can. Even for the more abrasive or difficult students, he's still willing to offer goodwill towards them whenever possible.
  • Anger Born of Worry: He's quick to scold Deku for going all out with One For All to defeat Muscular which resulted in two broken arms. He goes as far as to heal his arms while forbidding his brother from stopping him.
  • Blithe Spirit: His kind nature and ideologies of self reflection and change make for a strong contrast against his classmates who were raised on Black-and-White Morality heroism. But slowly, he's starting to have an influence over them.
  • Book Dumb: He admits that academics aren't his strong suit. It's especially harder since he has to learn completely different concepts associated with hero society.
  • Bully Hunter: He becomes on when he learns of Bakugou's abusive treatment towards Izuku. When given the chance, he shows up to either talk to him to reflect on his mistakes or to take him off his high horse by using his powers in a brutal manner. Although he does drop this trait when Izuku assures him that Bakugou is changing for the better, albeit at a snail's pace.
  • Calling the Old Man Out: He ends up doing this to Endeavor after he learns from Shouto that he abused his family in order to create the perfect weapon against his rival. Shigeo informs him that he's failed as a father if he only sees them as tools and how he'll definitely end up alone in life, even if he succeeds at becoming the best.
  • Chick Magnet: Shigeo ends up attracting the (platonic) attention of many of his girl classmates, including Momo. This is further solidified in Chapter 34's All Girls Slumber Party where they consider his kind heart to be his most attractive quality.
  • Conditioned to Accept Horror: Subverted. Mob confesses that for all his experiences in fighting villains and seeing his friends and loved ones in danger, he'll always be terrified over what can happen to him and his friends.
  • Crush Blush: He turns pinker than a Valentine's Day sale whenever he's around Momo.
  • Dismissing a Compliment: He isn't very fond of people praising him for his incredible powers; he takes greater enjoyment in compliments that center around his character instead.
  • Dude in Distress: After his surrender to the villains in the Forest Camp Training Arc, he becomes their prisoner and is kept in heavy duty cuffs while being transported to Shigaraki.
  • Emotion Suppression: The reason he maintains a calm and "bored" appearance is to keep his Psychic Powers under control. If he allowed his emotions to go unchecked, then there's no telling how much damage and danger he could inflict onto anyone around him.
  • Fish out of Water: He ends up trapped in another dimension where society judges the value of a person based on how strong their abilities are rather then their character.
  • Foil: To Izuku.
    • Izuku was born Quirkless and wished of having a power of his own whereas Shigeo was born with incredible psychic powers that he considers to be a nuisance.
    • While Izuku's social standing is fairly neutral, he knows how to interact with others. And in spite of Mob's awkward tendencies, he ended up being fairly popular because of his raw power.
    • Izuku has to be creative and use alternate techniques to save himself and his friends while Mob has to work harder to think of new creative ways to use his powers.
  • Goal in Life: One of his new goals is to master a healing power so he can improve Toshinori's physical health.
  • Grade Skipper: Downplayed. He should have been in his third year of middle school, but Toshinori's connections mixed with his online learning make it so that he's able to enter U.A. at the same time as Izuku.
  • Has a Type: Based on his new crush towards Momo along with his old crush for Tsubomi, Shigeo has a thing for girls with long, black hair who are smart and confident.
  • The Heart: The Miraculous Heart of Class 1-A. It's thanks to him that his peers are able to recognize that there's more to life than just improving their quirks and that the path to true heroism should involve helping others, supporting one another and reflecting on one's actions.
  • Heroic BSoD: Mob receives this after he wakes up from his ???% form and realizes the catastrophe he unleashed against the Pro Heroes and the surrounding environment. He expresses despair over his inability to change and accepts his arrest to Tartarus without a fight.
  • Heroic Sacrifice: In Chapter 36, he willingly surrenders himself to the Vanguard Action Squad in order to save Bakugou and Tokoyami who would have been taken instead of him. He also argues that the villains will continue to attack them unless he turned himself in.
  • Humble Hero: He doesn't think of himself as better just because he has incredible powers. He frequently reminds his friends and classmates about his own shortcomings while assuring them that they're just as great as him.
  • In-Series Nickname: After reusing his nickname for his hero title (The 100 Percent Hero: Mob Psychic), his friends and Pro Heroes refer to him as Mob.
  • Invincible Hero: Downplayed. Shigeo's unlimited powers mixed with his past experiences make him stand out as the fairest hero hopeful of all, but the story does provide situations that make it challenging for Shigeo to win significant conflicts. An example is in the Stain Arc where he uses up all his powers to fly to Hosu City that he's completely defenseless when faced to face with the Hero Killer himself.
  • It's All My Fault: He immediately blames himself after learning that his homeroom teacher decided to expel most of his friends and classmates for their involvement in Kamino Ward.
  • The Leader: He becomes the president of the new Body Improvement Club.
  • Must Make Amends: He eventually realizes that he was being too hard on Bakugou for expecting him to change so suddenly while not noticing any smaller changes he was going through. He goes to the blonde hothead and apologizes for his actions while promising to be more patient with him.
  • Plain Jane: A gender-flipped example. Most of the girls of Classes 1-A & B don't consider him to be as good-looking as his guy peers.
  • Positive Friend Influence: His kind heart and thoughtful character are shown to have a remarkable influence on his classmates who would have taken a much longer route in becoming better people if Mob wasn't around.
  • Spotlight-Stealing Squad: He replaces Izuku as the main protagonist of the MHA story.
  • Super Power Lottery: Shigeo's powers are regarded as this since espers in his reality were never limited by the Quirk system. His powers include, but are not limited to:
    • Mind over Matter: He can use his telekinesis to move objects and people with relative ease.
    • Flight: He can make his whole body fly around.
    • Barrier Warrior: He can create energy barriers to protect himself from danger.
    • Green Thumb: He can control plants by making them grow or using them to restrain enemies.
    • Energy Donation: He can grant some of his energy to friends or allies to either heal them or enhance their physical capabilities.
      • Emotion Bomb: Tying with the power above, whoever gains his energy will also feel the same emotion that Shigeo is feeling during the donation.
    • Light 'em Up: He can also channel his psychic powers to use as light-themed energy attacks.
      • Energy Ball: He can manipulate his power to become balls of light that can explode on impact.
    • Exposition Beam: He can allow anyone to see his memories if they're exposed to his psychic energy.
    • Healing Hands: He's slowly learning how to heal others.
    • During Chapter 39, he unlocks a variety of powers while facing off against All For One.
      • This Is a Drill: He copies Megumu's Telekinetic Helix attack to enhance his punches.
      • Me's a Crowd: He takes a page from Muraki by making clones of himself to attack the Emperor.
      • Having a Blast: He pays homage to Bakugou by using his Howitzer Impact move.
      • Playing with Fire: He sets the skies ablaze with fire to attack All For One.
      • An Ice Person: Can summon a hurricane of ice and wind to attack.
      • Shock and Awe: Uses an impressive thunder strike.
  • Sympathy for the Devil: True to his kind nature, Shigeo is shown to feel sympathy for the villains in the MHA reality as he wants to learn about their motivations and offer them a chance at redemption if possible. His morals can be seen as taboo amongst his peers as many of them grew up in the Black-and-White Morality that has defined the culture of heroes and villains for generations.
  • Taught by Experience: Given that he's already lived through two seasons of adventures and battles against villains, Shigeo is already trained in using his psychic abilities to face off any foe. Compared to his classmates who are novices when it comes to actual hero experiences, the contrast is quite striking.
  • There's No Place Like Home: Even though Mob is able to make new friends and improve his psychic powers in the world of heroes, he still misses his true home with all of his heart and worries if he can ever find a way back.
  • Trauma Button: He panics whenever people encourage him to "let loose" and "be free". It brings back painful memories of him embracing 100% Ecstasy to fight President Suzuki only to regret it when he sees how reckless and wild he became.
  • Turn the Other Cheek: To honor his commitment of being patient with Bakugou, Shigeo decides to repay his crude, antagonistic comments with words of friendliness and a desire to see him grow. The blonde hothead can only react in confused disgust over Shigeo's pure intentions.
  • Unskilled, but Strong: Shigeo may be a pro at using his psychic powers, but he still needs improvement in regards to physical combat.
  • You Are Better Than You Think You Are: Alot of Shigeo's speeches involve this theme as he reminds his friends and classmates that they each have their own qualities beyond quirks that make them important in society and how they each have the potential to be great people. He also gives this speech to Momo when she expresses insecurities about her talents in Chapter 30.

    Izuku Midoriya

Izuku Midoriya

The deuteragonist of the story. An enthusiastic admirer of heroes who finally gets to live his dream of becoming a hero himself. He becomes Mob's best friend as the two boys work together to achieve their heroic dreams and unleash their true potential. He inherited the Quirk One For All.

  • All of the Other Reindeer: He was constantly bullied and ostracized because of his Quirkless nature.
  • Always Second Best: He admits to All Might that he was secretly jealous of Shigeo because of his remarkable powers, how he never had to struggle and how he got extra attention from All Might. Even getting to live with him was enough to put salt in the wound.
  • Ascended Fanboy: He's a fanboy of hero culture and is living his dream of becoming All Might's successor. The story even refers to him as a fanboy on occasion.
  • Awesome by Analysis: As an avid fanboy of heroes, Izuku has a tendency of analyzing a person's quirk and capabilities and how they can use them in combat.
  • Best Friend: He is this to Shigeo.
  • Blessed with Suck: He's gifted with one of the greatest Quirks in existence but his inability to master OFA creates major body injuries when he uses it.
  • Can't Catch Up: Izuku is aware that he's still struggling to use his Quirk's full potential while undergoing constant damage. Compared to his best friend who's a Child Prodigy with his versatile powers who can learn and grow with minimal difficulty, the green haired boy can't help but feel envious over his progress.
  • Failure Hero: Izuku is worried about becoming this since he never was able to win a challenge by himself and he always needed to rely on Mob or others to save him.
  • Foil: To Mob
    • While Mob was born with phenomenal cosmic powers and isn't very fond of them, Izuku grew up Quirkless and longs to have a power to call his own.
    • Mob ends up becoming very popular but is still socially awkward while Izuku knows how to interact with others but his social standing is fairly neutral among his U.A. peers.
    • Mob is rather blunt with using his powers and is quite simplistic when using them in battle. In comparison, Izuku is able to come up with a variety of ways to use his Quirk and his friends' abilities to save the day.
  • Glass Cannon: As he has yet to master One For All, his body still faces serious damage whenever he uses his power.
  • Good Scars, Evil Scars: He ends up gaining scars on his hands for using One For All. Although they disappear when Mob showcases his new healing power.
  • Green-Eyed Monster: Despite their friendship, Izuku can't help but feel jealousy towards Shigeo given how powerful his psychic abilities, even gaining special attention from his idol All Might. For Izuku, who is still mastering OFA, it can be frustrating feeling second best.
  • In-Series Nickname: He used to be called "Deku" by his childhood bully Bakugou in order to spite him. But after some inspiring words from Uraraka, Izuku decides to reclaim the name as his own and uses it for his new hero name.
  • Lightning Bruiser: Jut like his predecessor, Izuku's new powers involve being able to travel at a fast right while exerting exceptional bursts of strength any time he uses his fingers or limbs.
  • My God, What Have I Done?: He instantly regrets lashing out at Shigeo even though he meant no ill will and was always supportive of him.
  • Number Two: He's the vice president of the Body Improvement Club with Shigeo as its president.
  • Prone to Tears: He tends to get pretty emotional during crucial moments.
  • "The Reason I Suck" Speech: He gives one when talking with All Might about his failure to help Mob when he was captured along with how he singlehandedly defeated All For One while he stood by and did nothing.
Izuku: I'm a failure. Nothing but a joke...
  • "The Reason You Suck" Speech: He gives a vicious one to Mob in Chapter 34 when he becomes fed up with Mob's ignorance when it comes to having incredible powers while maintaining a humble attitude. He accuses Mob of never having to struggle with his powers while he's still barely getting a hold of One For All. Thankfully he regrets his words and begs for his forgiveness.
  • Secret-Keeper: He's fully informed about Shigeo's predicament and does what he can to keep it a secret from the other students. Especially when it comes to his family situation.
  • The Strategist: Taking his analyst skill of heroes into account, Izuku likes to come up with plans and actions on how to best utilize a person's skills to achieve victory.

    Toshinori Yagi/All Might

All Might

Japan's Number One Hero and mentor to the two boys. As the years of saving Japan have taken a toll on his physical health, Toshinori decided to make Izuku his new successor in the hopes of maintaining peace. And after learning of Mob's situation, he decides to take the esper under his wing to guide him in the new world he may call home. His Quirk is One For All.

  • Awesome, but Temporary: During the U.S.J. Attack, Mob transfers some of his energy to All Might which significantly boosts his power and allows him to maintain his hero form for a longer period of time. While Shigeo agrees to lend him his powers so he can continue his hero duties from then on, the aged hero is fully aware that he can't use the boy as a battery forever and that he'll have to retire eventually.
  • Big Good: The Ultimate Symbol of Peace who's regarded as a good man in both his hero and civilian forms.
  • Career-Ending Injury: His last fight with All For One left him severely wounded and missing several organs. While he can still transform into All Might and perform hero duties, his time and energy are limited and he isn't able to go all out like in his prime.
  • Easily Forgiven: Shigeo doesn't hold any ill will towards Toshinori regarding his involvement in the Sludge Villain incident and how the aged hero purposefully kept it a secret from him..
  • Henshin Hero: His default form is a malnourished man that most people wouldn't consider to be hero material. But when he transforms, he gains a muscular, and healthier image that makes him more fit for the title of fairest of them all.
  • Heroic Self-Deprecation: He has a bad habit of blaming himself for catastrophes that are tied to him while mentally calling himself unworthy of being the Symbol of Peace.
  • Hypocrisy Nod: After Kamino, he berates Izuku for going behind everyone's back to rescue Shigeo only to get in the way. But he then admits that he's no better considering his absence in the grand battle and how he's been using Shigeo's powers ever since the USJ Attack.
  • Large Ham: He really goes over the top whenever he's in his All Might form.
    • He dips into Evil Is Hammy territory when pretending to be a 'villain' during the Final Exam Arc.
  • Lightning Bruiser: His quirk gives him an impressive combination of speed, strength and endurance. This often allows him to beat or apprehend villains in an exceptionally fast rate.
  • Locked Out of the Fight: All For One uses Kurogiri to teleport him several cities away so he won't interfere with him antagonizing Shigeo. Because of this, All Might is unable to participate in the grand showdown and reaches Kamino after Mob is declared the winner.
  • The Mentor: He becomes this to both Izuku and Shigeo.
  • Mirror Character: The reason he chose Izuku as his successor was because he too grew up Quirkless but wanted to help people however he could.
  • Nice Job Breaking It, Hero: He makes his biggest blunder after the Kamino battle where he knocks out Shigeo who frantically tried to see Aizawa about the mass expulsion. This action led to the return of ???% who effortlessly destroyed All Might in battle which not only landed him in a coma but also exposed his true skeletal form for the world to see, putting everyone in panic mode over their loss of a Symbol of Peace.
  • Parental Substitute: Toshinori basically becomes Shigeo's new master and guardian throughout the story.
  • Secret-Keeper: He knows fully well about Shigeo coming from another world and helped to create a legal identity for the boy, with the help of his trusted higher up friends, to avoid arousing suspicion from the public.
  • So Proud of You: He frequently expresses pride towards his pupils whenever they showcase a new milestone in their powers or by their noble actions towards their peers.
  • What the Hell, Hero?:
    • In Chapter 39, he's infuriated to hear that Mob used his healing power to cure All For One's disfigured face.
    • In the following chapter, he chews out his other son for getting himself into trouble with his unauthorized rescue mission.
  • Wound That Will Not Heal: He has a deep scar on his stomach from his last fight with All For One. Even after Mob begins to learn the miracle of healing, the scar and missing organs prove to be a challenge for the young esper.

Class 1-A

    Katsuki Bakugou

Katsuki Bakugou

Izuku's childhood bully and the main rival of the story. A rude, violence happy boy who believes himself to be the greatest hero hopeful of all. He also develops a strong hatred towards Shigeo for his contrasting beliefs. His Quirk is Explosion.

  • Always Second Best: In the original series, Bakugou stood out as being the best student in Class 1-A due to his powerful quirk and impeccable fighting experience. In this AU, he's now outshined by Shigeo who not only has him matched in power but also in popularity and social relations.
  • Berserk Button: He absolutely hates being looked down upon by others.
  • Berserker Tears: He ends up crying these during the Sports Festival Arc where Mob not only beats him but outright humiliates him by showing how weak his ultimate attack was. He continues to cry these when he wakes up in the medical bay as he processes his loss.
  • Blood Knight: Of all the hero hopefuls, Bakugou stands out as having the most enjoyment in combat and getting to beat up or kill his opponents.
  • Break the Haughty: Him constantly losing to Shigeo causes the hot headed boy to tone down his arrogant attitude as he clearly doesn't have the skills to prove his worth.
  • The Bully: He was this to Izuku throughout their childhood and has a tendency to pick on him and Shigeo in the present.
  • Character Tics: Whenever he feels scared or frustrated, he pulls on his hair.
  • Everyone Has Standards: As violent and arrogant as Bakugou is, he at least knows his limits regarding when and how he can unleash his violent tendencies towards his classmates at U.A.
  • Exact Eavesdropping: He has a habit of sticking his nose in the private conversations held by his classmates and coming across important information.
  • Hated by All: By the time the Sports Festival Arc starts, Bakugou has ended up with an unflattering reputation from all the other hero classes, including his own. It doesn't help that he badmouths others, boasts his superiority over everyone else, and doesn't show willingness to change his rude behavior.
  • Having a Blast: His quirk allows him to make explosions from the palms of his hands.
  • Hey, You!: He doesn't bother to remember the names of his classmates and would rather use unflattering names when speaking to them. This is something that irritated Mob whom he calls him out for during the sports festival.
  • I Just Want to Be Special: He desperately wants the world to recognize him for his capabilities so he can shine as the fairest of them all. Unfortunately for him, Shigeo has him beat in every hero themed challenge and the bowl cut even chews him out for his goal as it's made him arrogant and hostile towards everyone around him.
  • O.O.C. Is Serious Business: Despite his arrogance and eagerness to rescue Mob from the League of Villains (consequences be damned), even Bakugou tries to run away in fear after meeting All For One in person.
  • Sir Swears Alot: He loves to curse whenever he speaks to others.
  • Sore Loser: He really doesn't take losing very well. His reaction to learning that Shigeo took the top spot in the Entrance Exam was to destroy his acceptance letter device in anger. And later on when he loses at the Sports Festival, he throws an explosive temper tantrum while screaming his heart out.
  • You Remind Me of X: To Mob, Bakugou reminds him of his rival-turned-friend Teruki Hanazawa given that they're both powerful blondes who believe(d) themselves to be superior towards others. To Mob's disappointment, Bakugou isn't quick to change or self-reflection like his friend was.

This causes her to reflect on her own upbringing and how Shigaraki wasn't as lucky as her.

  • Goth: His dark ensemble, serious attitude and fascination with dark subjects makes him akin to this archetype.

  • Child Prodigy: Alongside Momo, Shouto was recommended into U.A. thanks to his powerful ice powers along with his monster father's influence
  • Dark and Troubled Past: He tells Izuku and Shigeo how his father created his family for the sake of making the perfect hero that would surpass his rival All Might. This in turn resulted in Endeavour inflicting various forms of abuse onto Shouto, his mother and his siblings.
  • Good Scars, Evil Scars: He has a red, Zuko-esque scar on the left side of his face. That is until Mob removes it after learning the miracle of healing.
  • An Ice Person: He has the ability to create large amounts of ice that can encase anything.
  • Jerkass Has a Point: Before the start of the sports festival, Shouto manages to undermine Shigeo's speech of encouraging teamwork by pointing out how there's only going to be one winner at the end so working together will be futile.
  • Non-Lethal K.O.: His preferred method of winning battles involve encasing his enemies in waves of ice.
  • Playing with Fire: At first he refuses to use his fire power because of its association with his abusive monster father. But he slowly starts to use it after listening to Shigeo and Izuku.
  • Politically Incorrect Hero: He calls a police chief who resembles a dog a mutt in anger.
  • Pyrrhic Victory: He manages to win the sports festival and is comfortable enough to use his fire power. The only thing that keeps him from enjoying his win was the fact that he pushed Shigeo into losing control of his powers leading to him having a Laughing Mad fit followed by feeling 100% Shame for his actions.
  • "The Reason I Suck" Speech: He gives one to himself over his incompetence in helping Mob and how his actions contributed to his incarceration at Tartarus.
  • The Rival: The main rival of the Sports Festival Arc.
  • The Stoic: One of the most serious boys at the start of the school year. He does become more expressive and approachable thanks to Mob and Izuku's kindness.
  • Took a Level in Kindness: He becomes more friendlier and thoughtful towards his class after the sports festival.

    Eijirou Kirishima

Eijirou Kirishima

A friendly young man full of passion. He's always eager to take on any challenge and emits positive masculinity. His Quirk is Hardening.

  • Adaptation Relationship Overhaul: Implied. In the original show, Kirishima was Bakugou's closest friend and always hung out with him. In this AU, their interactions seem quite bare as the red-headed man is shown to be more critical of Bakugou's abrasive actions and hardly speaks to him. It's also worth mentioning that most of his screentime is spent hanging out with Mob and devotes much of his freetime to the new Body Improvement Club.
  • Bare-Fisted Monk: His main fighting style involves punching things and people.
  • Birds of a Feather: Gets along really well with Testutestu thanks to their manly personalities and appreciation of getting stronger.
  • Graceful Loser: He takes losing to Shigeo during the Sports Festival with pride. He even offers the esper a fist bump as an act of good sportsmanship.
  • Made of Iron: His quirk allows him to harden his body so he can sustain just about any type of damage.
  • Start My Own: With Shigeo's help, Kirishima creates the Body Improvement Club which is dedicated to working out and supporting one another as friends.

    Minoru Mineta

Minoru Mineta

The shortest kid of Class 1-A who has the biggest libido of them all. He comes off as hard to be around due to his smugness, cowardly tendencies and his objectifying attitude towards women. His Quirk is Pop Off.

  • All Men Are Perverts: The Class Pervert of Class 1-A. That is until Chapter 34 where Mineta declares that he intends to give up the role and be a better person.
  • Because You Were Nice to Me: When he's paired with Momo during a group activity at the forest camp, the grape kid offers to switch places with Shigeo knowing that he has a thing for Momo. That and he's aware that the Book Smart girl wouldn't feel comfortable with him as a partner.
  • Character Development: Thanks to Shigeo instilling some meaningful words of wisdom towards the grape gremlin, along with being part of the Body Improvement Club, Mineta has come to realize that objectifying women is wrong and intends to change himself into someone who respects women.
  • Commonality Connection: Shigeo actually finds common ground with Mineta as he too desired to be popular so he can get the attention of a girl (Tsubomi). It's because of this relatability that the goblin starts to realize that his perverted methods need to be changed.
  • Cowardly Lion: His other defining trait is his cowardice when faced with extreme danger. But he is a hero in training and is capable of pulling his weight when needed.
  • Green-Eyed Monster: He's envious of Shigeo for gaining the attention of so many girls thanks to his Body Improvement Club.
  • Old Shame: Once he starts letting go of his perversions, he views his old porn collection with disdain and discomfort.
  • That Man Is Dead: In Chapter 34, Mineta admits that the old him was a creepy jerk who doesn't deserve appreciation because of how he hurt the girls with his perverted antics. His new self will be someone who will work hard and be respectful of girls so they may return that respect if they wish.
  • The Peeping Tom: In the past, he's tried to spy on the girls to see them naked.
  • Throw the Dog a Bone: Despite being laughed at by his peers after Tsuyu cracks a joke about him, he's able to brush it off after seeing Shigeo presenting a thumbs up of approval for his vow of becoming a better person.
  • You Remind Me of X: Shigeo sees Mineta as himself when he was in middle school. Particularly with wanting to get the attention of a girl but was never able to as he was.

  • Gentle Giant: Beyond his grim appearance lies a gentle and respectful boy who wants to be a good hero.
  • Multi-Armed and Dangerous: His Quirk grants him multiple arms that can be used for beating up people or helping them based on the situation.
  • Seen It All: As a Mutant citizen, he's had his share of fearful reactions and scrutinization from the people around him. Though he does find it odd at how there's been more reactions despite Musutafu being more tolerant of Mutant citizens compared to other cities.

    Kyoka Jirou

A musically talented girl known for being direct, pragmatic and quite sensible. Her Quirk is Earphone Jack.

  • The Ace: Of the musical variety. She knows how to play a variety of musical instruments and is quite skilled at singing. It helps that her parents are popular musicians who encouraged her talent since she was little.

Pro Heroes

    Shouta Aizawa/Eraserhead

Class 1-A's unkempt homeroom teacher. A serious man who holds his students to high standards throughout their classes to ensure that they'll give their best performance. His Quirk is Erasure.

  • Badass in Distress: He's seriously injured during the U.S.J. Attack with both of his arms being broken.
  • Didn't See That Coming: Having been a professional teacher at U.A., Aizawa is more than familiar with how most incoming students have shallow dreams of heroism and are more focused in receiving publicity or becoming strong. So it takes him by surprise when he meets Shigeo Kageyama who is interested in neither of those things and simply wants to help others however he can. His consistent speeches about improving oneself instead of their Quirks also manages to surprise the somber man.
  • Fights Like a Normal: While Erasure is by no means bad and is useful, it doesn't give Aizawa a direct edge in combat. He makes up for it with an effective fighting style which allows him to defeat a large group of low level villains.
  • Genius Slob: He doesn't care for his physical appearance and the story constantly refers to him as unkempt, but he's also a professional hero who knows fully well how to train students into becoming proper heroes.
  • Instant Knots: He's armed with a capture tape that functions as a scarf which allows him to entangle enemies or navigate from place to place.
  • Jerkass Has a Point:
    • Cruel as he is regarding his teaching methods, he does make some valid arguments when Ochako accuses him of being unfair.
Aizawa: Oh, you think that natural disasters are? You think that natural disasters are just going to wait until you're ready? They're going to decrease in intensity to match your level of capability? And what about villains with dangerous and unpredictable quirks? Are they just going to stop wreaking havoc or hold back on you just because you can't handle their level? This world is filled with unfair events that threaten the public. As a hero, it'll be your responsibility to combat that unfairness.
    • In Chapter 40, he makes valid arguments of how the kids involved in the unauthorized rescue mission only made themselves into potential targets that would have been killed if it wasn't for Mob. He uses this to justify their mass expulsion.
  • Must Make Amends: Aizawa blames himself for letting the ???% catastrophe happen because of his decision to mass expel everyone. It's because of this that he reverses the expulsion order while convincing each of his student's parents to let them attend Heights Alliance.
  • Power Nullifier: His Quirk allows him to erase or temporarily disable the emitter-Quirk of anyone he looks at. The only person this doesn't work on is Shigeo since his powers aren't Quirk-based.
  • Secret-Keeper: He learns that Shigeo isn't from his world after Toshinori explains everything while recuperating from the U.S.J. Attack.
  • So Proud of You: He ends up showing shades of pride towards Shigeo for his ability to master and improve his powers while still maintaining his humility.
  • Stern Teacher: Despite his abrasive attitude, he does care for his students and wants them to improve themselves.
  • Unwitting Instigator of Doom: The Erasure Hero's decision to expel a majority of his 1-A students would unintentionally result in the return of ???%.

    Recovery Girl

  • "World's Best" Character: She's regarded as one of the top doctors of the world by the hero circuit. This is evident during Shigeo's surgeries after his triumphant battle against All For One where she helps with his medical operations.
  • What the Hell, Hero?: She frequently calls out Toshinori for pushing his pupils too far with their training to the point of needing constant medical attention.

    Endeavor

Japan's Number 2 Hero. Behind his heroic title and serious appearance lies a cruel, twisted man who was willing to abuse his family for a complete decade in order to surpass his rival. His Quirk is Hell Flame.

  • Abusive Parents: He forced Shouto to undergo brutal training when he was four years old, separated him from his other siblings and choosing to neglect them because of their inferior skills. Even in the present, he considered Shouto to be a tool to achieve his dream of surpassing All Might.
  • Always Second Best: His hatred of All Might comes from the fact that he's never been able to claim his level of public adoration or title as the fairest of them all for years despite his many heroic accomplishments.
  • The Atoner: After being inspired by Mob's honesty and warning for his lonely future, Enji makes more of an effort to reach out to his family to support them as a true father. He even goes to Mob asking for advice on how to be a better man.
  • Because You Were Nice to Me: His reason for partaking in the mission to rescue Shigeo alongside the other Pros is to repay the boy for all the words of wisdom he imparted onto him since their first meeting.
  • Character Development: Thanks to Mob openly calling him out for failing as a father and how he's destined to be alone if he continues his selfish ambition, Endeavor begins to reconsider his actions and vows to be kinder and considerate of his family while owning up to his many, many many mistakes.
  • Domestic Abuse: Along with using his connections to practically force Rei into marrying him, he would beat and mistreat her whenever things wouldn't go his way. It reached to the point that Rei developed a mental breakdown and was placed into a mental hospital to cope with the trauma for 10 years.
  • Lonely at the Top: Discussed between him and Shigeo. The wise esper points out that even if he were to obtain the title of fairest of them all, he'd still be alone as he drove his family away because of his abusive nature. He eventually realizes this when he starts to reevaluate his goals while alone in his office.
  • Married to the Job: Is more committed to improving his hero career then actually spending time with his family unless it correlates with his interests.
  • Must Make Amends: Thanks to Mob's words of inspiration, Endeavor promises his family that he intends to fix his past mistakes and become a better father.
  • My God, What Have I Done?: He reacts this way when he realizes that Mob was right about how his obsession with beating All Might as left him alone with no one to turn to for support.
  • Obnoxious In-Laws: The girls at Class 1-A & B imagine that he'd be this to any girl that his son decides to date.
  • Playing with Fire: His Quirk allows him to control and use massive amounts of fire.
  • The Rival: To All Might. His wish in beating him as Japan's Number One Hero is the main backburner for his actions throughout his hero career.
  • So Proud of You: To cheer up his youngest son after being scolded by the authorities for the unauthorized rescue mission, Endeavor points out that it was his friendship with Shigeo that was able to give him the willpower to defeat All For One and save the day. And for that, he's proud of Shouto for what he accomplished.
  • I Work Alone: According to Best Jeanist, he hardly ever works with other Pros apart from sidekicks in his agency.

  • Casual Danger Dialogue: His first outing with Mob and Tokoyami features him casually chatting with them while using his feathers to save multiple civilians simultaneously.
  • Crouching Moron, Hidden Badass: Downplayed. He's a chill guy who acts like a chipper celebrity but he's actually sharp and diligent when it comes to stopping crime at an incredibly fast pace.
  • Flight: What type of bird-themed hero would he be if he couldn't fly?
  • Innocently Insensitive: During the Internship Arc, he spends more time focusing on Mob and his capabilities while practically ignoring his other intern Tokoyami. Fortunately, Mob is aware of this and directly asks Keigo to show equal attention to his feathered friend.
  • Mellow Fellow: He's a pretty chill dude who likes to take things easy and is always in a pleasant mood.
  • The Mentor: He becomes one to Mob and Tokoyami during the Internship Arc where he helps the former with embracing the fun side of his Psychic Powers while encouraging the latter to learn how he can expand on Dark Shadow's functionality.
  • Stealing the Credit: Invoked during the Stain Arc. The police are willing to write it so that Hawks was the one to stop Stain and not the kids in order to avoid legal problems. Hawks only goes along so the Pro Heroes aren't punished but he doesn't like that he's taking the credit for Mob's accomplishment.
  • Winged Humanoid: His quirk grants him a pair of giant red wings made of versatile feathers.

    Principal Nezu

A silly, talking animal who serves as the headmaster of U.A. Academy. Behind his comical appearance lies a perceptive being that can become either a powerful ally or a great foe. His Quirk is High Spec.

  • Putting the "Pal" in Principal: A well-respected principal who gets the job done and is quite reliable.
  • Secret-Keeper: Toshinori personally sought him out to inform him of Mob's true origins to ensure that he knows exactly what Mob is capable of regarding his "Quirk".

    Shigaraki Tomura

The grim leader of the League of Villains. He holds a strong grudge against All Might and vows to dismantle hero society. His Quirk is Decay.

  • Affably Evil: In Chapter 38, he treats Shigeo with sincerity as he tries to convince the esper to join his cause. He even orders his restraints to be removed.
  • Because You Were Nice to Me: While Shigaraki was able to threaten Mob into having a conversation with him about hero society, what he didn't count on was for the bowl cut kid to sympathize with him while revealing how he too faced similar hardships. The fact that Mob offered to speak with him again if he needed to manages to startle the villain's beliefs for just a moment.
  • Big Bad: The main antagonist of the series after AFO.
  • Freudian Excuse: He tells Mob that his hatred for heroes was due to him having to live on the streets when he was a child with no one making an effort to rescue him. And the only one who did lend a helping hand was able to warp his suffering into violent hatred.
  • ManChild: Tends to act frustrated or whiny whenever things don't go his way. He also treats missions against the heroes as if he were playing a video game.

  • Touch of Death: His Quirk allows him to disintegrate anything he touches with his hands.

  • We Can Rule Together: Shigaraki hopes to convince Shigeo to join his legion after learning that he too was a victim of society along with how having him turn to villainy would be a major game changer for everything.
  • Would Hurt a Child: He conveys a circus of criminals and creeps to U.S.J. in order to kill as many students as possible all to spite the Number one Hero. He even forces Shigeo into having a conversation with him under threat of disintegration.

    Stain

An infamous Hero Killer with a self-righteous attitude. His motivations stem from his disgust over how modern heroes have tarnished the integrity of true heroism and now he plans to cleanse society with his blades. His Quirk is Bloodcurdle.

  • Blade Enthusiast: He relies on a variety of blades to kill or harm anyone who stands in his way.
  • Blood Magic: By licking the blood of his victims, he's able to paralyze them for several minutes.
  • Even Evil Has Standards: Discussed. Stain is utterly horrified when he goes through the memories of Keiji Mogami and how the fallen esper used psychological warfare to break Shigeo into agreeing with his ideals. However, Stain notes that he himself is a serial killer and wonders if he too would use similar tactics if he had Mogami's powers to spread his message.
  • Freudian Excuse: His reason for murdering heroes stems from his own inability to make any significant changes. In his youth, he dreamed of being a hero but was disheartened by how many of peers pursued the goal for shallow reasons. When he tried to motivate others to change their minds through online videos, no one listened to him. So to Stain, the only way to make a significant change was by deadly force.
  • Heel–Face Turn: After being touched by Mob's lessons on the importance of change while also living through his memories that show how he influenced the most vile of villains, Stain decides to give up his unholy crusade and feels genuine sorrow for everything he's done.
  • Hero Killer: He specifically targets heroes that he believe are shallow or unworthy of the title.
  • My God, What Have I Done?: After going through all of Mob's memories, he realizes how wrong he was for committing so many atrocities just to create a better hero society. He even expresses shame for disappointing his younger self who once dreamt of being a hero himself.
  • Passing the Torch: Before being taken away to prison, he assigns Mob with his mission of inspiring "false" heroes to change their ways using his philosophies.
  • Secret-Keeper: Averted. Shigeo blasting Stain with his memory wave gives away his true existence along with how his world is completely different from the MHA world. Stain himself even notices the radical differences; such as the concept of espers and Touichirou's public takeover. That said, Stain doesn't figure out Shigeo's origin and has no intention of revealing his findings to anyone else.
  • Villain with Good Publicity: Zigzagged. After his respective arc, Stain ends up developing a cult following as many villains start to rise to live up to his messages while the general public use his image for controversial merchandise. The new Stain would not approve of this publicity as he no longer wishes to harm others to inspire meaningful change.
  • Villain Respect: He declares Shigeo to be one of the few heroes he considers to be truly virtuous based on his beliefs about change and heroism. And after getting to see Mob's memories that inspired such beliefs, Stain's respect for the boy grows stronger and he even renounces his villain title.
  • Would Hurt a Child: He has no qualms about hurting teenagers who stand in his way. He was seconds from killing Tenya if it wasn't for his friends and he even tried to slice Mob's arm off during the fight.
  • You Remind Me of X: To Mob, Stain reminds him of the ghost esper Keiji Mogami given how they both feel disgust towards the negative aspects of society and believed that hurting others was the only way to inspire change.

  • Berserk Button: While normally a composed man, All For One loses his cool after Shigeo brings up his estranged little brother Yoichi.
  • Big "WHAT?!": He says this in shock after Shigaraki informs him that Shigeo was able to transfer some of his power onto All Might, something only he could do.
  • Break Them by Talking: A huge fan of this trope as he uses this on his pupil and the Kageyama Rescue Squad.
  • Career-Ending Injury: His last fight with All Might has left this body in a critical condition and unable to act on his own. But after hearing of the miracles and true power wielded by Shigeo Kageyama, All For One decides that his trusted doctor will need to fix his body as best as possible so he can dispose of the boy himself.
  • The Corruptor: Tying to his role as Shigaraki's Evil Mentor, he encourages his pupil to embrace his hatred and resentment so he can take revenge on hero society.
  • Didn't See That Coming: In all his experiences as a professional villain and how he's dealt with various forms of heroes, he can't for the life of him figure out why Mob decided to heal his face after everything he did.
  • Don't You Dare Pity Me!: He gets exceptionally annoyed when Mob shows pity on him for having relied on his powers to craft his identity while neglecting his relations with other people.
  • Evil Cannot Comprehend Good: Despite his history in fighting heroes, All For One just can't understand how Shigeo would prefer to use his words to talk things out with the villains rather then destroy them like the other Pros.
  • Evil Mentor: To Shigaraki. He hopes to train the young villain to become his destructive successor.
  • Greater-Scope Villain: He's known throughout the MHA universe as Japan's greatest villain because of his dangerous quirk and his criminal activities.
  • Handicapped Badass: He suffered from serious injuries after losing his fight to All Might and relies on several sensory Quirks to get by. Fortunately for him, he's a terrifying force to be reckoned with regardless of his disability.
  • "Not So Different" Remark: In Chapter 38, he confidently brags to Shigeo that All Might is just like him given how he's invested his time and dedication to the esper because of his cosmic powers and his potential as a Symbol for the next generation.
  • Not So Stoic: He normally maintains a cool and collected demeanor, but he soon becomes frustrated and serious after Shigaraki questions him about his own beliefs after speaking with Shigeo.
  • Shadow Archetype: To Mob, AFO represents what could have happened to him if he allowed his powers to corrupt his well being while destroying any bonds between himself and his little brother.
  • Super Power Lottery: He wouldn't be known throughout the land as the most dangerous villain of all if he had just one simple Quirk.
    • Power Parasite: The first half of his Quirk allows him to steal Quirks from anyone by force.
    • Super-Empowering: The second half allows him to grant any of his stolen powers to anyone he chooses. This was how he was able to take control of Japan in the past as he had a legion of followers who were blessed with his power and were eager to follow him as a result.

    • Body Horror: Can create horrifying appendages from his arms that have functioning mouths.
  • Unknown Rival: He consider Shigeo to be his greatest adversary on account of his phenomenal psychic powers and charismatic personality. While the bowl cut kid is aware of All For One's existence, he doesn't know that the Dark King considers him a threat that he intends to purge. The unknown portion is dropped when they formally meet in Chapter 38.
  • Villain Has a Point: He strikes a nerve with Shigeo by pointing out that he's been able to accomplish so much because of his top-tier powers.
  • We Can Rule Together: He initially tried this on Mob by offering to use the opportunity to expand on his special powers so he can stand supreme alongside the League.

  • Wound That Will Not Heal: 80 percent of his face is nothing but deformed tissue after All Might pulverized him during their last fight. Mob grants him a miracle by undoing the damage and returning his face and hair to normal.

  • Commonality Connection: Mob confides to her that he knows what it's like to unintentionally hurt a family member because of stress that was beyond her control.
  • Domestic Abuse: The main victim of Endeavor's abuse who endured physical assaults, verbal reprimands and victim blaming.
  • An Ice Person: Her Quirk allows her to control ice.
  • My Greatest Failure: She considers burning Shouto's face and not protecting her children to be her biggest failings in life.
  • Only Sane Man: After listening to her son explain Mob's ability to change people with his speeches, Rei is able to figure out that him speaking from the heart and from his own experiences is what help solidify his ability to reach out to people.
  • Open-Minded Parent: While talking with Shigeo about potential crushes, she wonders if there were any girls or guys that have taken a romantic interest in him.
  • Tears of Joy: She sheds these when Shouto visits her for the first time in a decade and later when he returns without his scar thanks to Mob's miracle.

    Hero Public Safety Commission

An organization of law enforcement officials who regulate relations between Pro Heroes and the citizens they protect. Led by Madam President Masa Hano, they are responsible for the established principles that present day Hero Society has been founded on.

  • Ascended Extra: In the original story, they mainly stayed in the background while ordering Hawks with his undercover mission and by establishing many of Hero Society's ongoing flaws. In this story, they take a more active role after Mob's spectacular performance defeating All For One followed by his apocalyptic rampage as ???%. The President and her members are even given names and characterization.
  • Jerkass Has a Point: As cold-hearted as it was for them to send Mob to Tartarus, they do make valid points on how there's no current safety plan to ensure that Mob won't lose control of his powers again or endanger everyone. They even argue that all of hero society would turn on their future Symbol of Peace if they discovered that he was responsible for All Might's retirement and the 53 deaths.
  • Meaningful Name: Madam President's first name can be translated to "elegant, graceful, right etc." This all correlates of maintaining a prestigious image as the leader of the Commission who always acts in the name of heroism.
  • Named by the Adaptation: Unlike canon where all of them were nameless, the 100 Percent Hero story gives the courtesy of providing them names and titles.
  • Opportunistic Bastard: After Mob's triumphant victory against the Emperor of Darkness, President Hano and Makoto immediately suggest promoting him as the next Symbol of Peace so that the public's faith in heroes would strengthen.
  • Original Character: Given that many of the members were nameless and only there to represent Hero Society's outdated ideals, the members are given established names and personalities. Membership includes:
    • Makoto Nakatomi, the head of public relations.
    • Tadashi Kamori, a famous lawyer who manages cases that relate to the Commission.
    • Nori Fujino, the head of the investigative department.
  • Utopia Justifies the Means: The actions they take, no matter how questionable they may be, are always for the sake of a stronger Hero Society.

  • Person of Mass Destruction: Just his revival alone is enough to create powerful tremors across the forest.
