The Tower of the Prideful Blue Dragon

Only for those with the noble blood of dragons

A tower for royalty and powerful nobles.

     Yi-han Wardanaz
The protagonist of the story, who remembers his previous life as a graduate student.

  • The Ace: He's good in weaponry, chores, social grifting and leadership and that's before his talent as a mage is honed in the academy.
  • Blessed with Suck: His mana pool at the start of the story, he won't get tired quickly for casting spells, but he will need to grind harder to control spells.
  • Conditioned to Accept Horror: His past of being a graduate student, to the point where being served basic essentials at school is a huge improvement for him.
  • Crazy-Prepared: After being exposed to Einrogard's schemes for too long, he over prepares any supplies that cannot be covered by magic and questions the situations that the students are exposed to.
  • The Determinator: Is very willing to put in the effort in order now in order to have a carefree life in the future.
  • Difficult, but Awesome: At the start of school, he found out that he has an immense mana pool...which professor Garcia saw as an unfortunate thing since he will have struggles in controlling them.
  • The Dreaded: For the Black Turtle at the start, since his family obtained a lot of scary rumors due to their isolation.
  • Guile Hero: If he could raise affinities with the relevant people (students, teachers or even the principal), he will play the person that appeals them the most.
    • In swordsmanship, noticing that professor Ingrudel looks slightly disappointed with his initial response, he quickly follows up with another response that makes Ingrudel take pity on him and train him harder.
    • Even Yonaire & Gainando, who were close to him, outright question whether he learned brainwashing magic when he successfully persuaded Dugryu to become the White Tiger's whistleblower.
  • Heroes Prefer Swords: Due to the empire's policy forbidding children to learn spells until they are 15, Yi-han took up swordsmanship, trained by Arlong, to enhance his survival and stave off boredom. This continues when he took on Swordsmanship in the academy.
  • The Leader: For the Blue Dragons, due to being the ace of his group.
  • Making a Splash: He is able to cast the basic water creation spell in three tries (which is considered quite fast in this setting) and becomes his main element, though more of it comes from his huge mana pool and not from his innate affinity.
  • Team Chef: For the Blue Dragons and occasionally the other towers if he needs to. The students evaluation of him as a Supreme Chef embarrass him since he has an advantage of having ample supplies (having a private garden for his vegetables) for preparation in a starved environment.
  • Workaholic: Takes on one too many optional classes just to get better grades in the future, in addition to during chores around school for money & privileges.

     Yonaire Maykin

Member of the Maykin household and the first person who initiate contact with Yi-Han. Aspires to become an alchemist.

  • Because You Were Nice to Me: She follows Gainando because in the past, when she accidentally cause a scandal, Gainando's mother defended her, which she burst Yi-Han's imagination by stating that it's because Gainando's mother paid her to be his friend.
  • Blow You Away: Her innate element.
  • Caring Gardener: She's ecstatic when she gets the chance to work in a garden full of herbs that has potent alchemy use.
  • Everyone Has Standards: She admits to herself that she is greedy in order to have her own alchemist workshop, but is stunned with how greedier Yi-Han can be.
  • Freakiness Shame: Downplayed, as she's not proud that she's willing to inflict injuries (on Gainando) to vent her anger despite being a noble and is afraid that her family and work will usually cause people to distance from her. Luckily for her, Yi-Han doesn't mind.
  • Non-Idle Rich: While she still have her limits, she is willing to labor herself for supplies.
  • Number Two: Officially to Gainando, in the academy she's this to Yi-Han when it comes to making money and domestic affairs. Without him she is vastly less effective.

     Gainando

An immature boy who happends to be the empire's current 97th (or 101th) prince.

  • Dark Is Not Evil: His innate element, though here dark magic did have some slightly undeserved bad rap.
  • Innocently Insensitive: He has a shared view among fledgling mages that alchemy is dull...in front of Yonaire who he knows aspires to become an alchemist. This leads him to getting hit by Yonaire.
  • Royal Brat: He believes he's quite important for being a prince despite having no power to back up his claims. Yi-Han is willing to spend some time tempering off his tendencies.
  • Spoiled Sweet: Childish and spoiled, preferring games over magic or politics. But he simply needs proper guidance to make him more tempered.

     Adenart

The empire's current 43rd or 44th princess. Popular with nobles and commoners

  • The Ace: She got a lot of followers even outside of her tower due to her ability & charisma. She was even able to cast Light at the same time as Yi-Han.
  • Disappointed in You: Was not happy at Yi-Han's reasoning for choosing the unpopular optional classes, as he mainly wants to get great grades without fierce competition.
  • Overshadowed by Awesome: In any other year she would have been the leader of the tower, however Yi-Han's abilities and skillsets made her tower see him as a leader instead.
  • Playing with Fire: Her innate element.
  • The Rival: Towards Yi-Han at the start.

     Asan Dargard

Member of the Dargard household. Good at theoretical calculations, but unexpectedly hotheaded.

  • Broken Pedestal: He initially follows Adenart, but later chose to follow Yi-Han due to being disappointed at Adenart believing rumors of Yi-Han (of him going to the academy for good grades)
  • Hot-Blooded: Yi-Han was surprised for him being this despite looking like a calm character, like he's excited at Yi-Han accidentally attempt of Minor Control that hit the principal and strategized that the Blue Dragons should ambush the White Tigers before Yi-Han calm him down
  • Make Us Even: After the first class of Basic Magic Ethics, he volunteered alongside Yi-Han for previously saving him against the magic boar during the Alchemy Class. It paid off well for him as he was able to learn [Minor Control] at an earlier period.
  • The Smart Guy: His household specialized in strategy and finance, and he's proud of being able to calculate probabilities with his head.
  • Weak, but Skilled: When in combat at first, he was to predict how the enemy moves, but lack the strength and ability to really defeat them. Like a magically enhanced boar.

The Tower of the Immortal Phoenix

Only for those that have dedicated their lives to the sacred fire

A tower for followers of the empire's numerous religions

The Tower of the Fearless White Tigers

Only for those with the ferocity to rip through anything

A tower for the students that came from a knight's lineage.

     Jijel Moradi

The unofficial leader of the White Tigers. An elf who prefer people to refer her by her family name

     Dolgyu Choi

An orc. His swordmanship is the Mountain Moon style.

The Tower of the Omniscient Black Tortoise

Only for those with infinite patience and grit

A tower consisted of commoners, servants, slaves, entertainers, beggars, merchants, lower nobility, and many more.

     Nila

A dark elf, her training from the group Shadow Patrol makes her proficient in scouting mountains and forests.

  • Aristocrats Are Evil: Had this mentality against noble due to her past of Shadow Patrol where nobles usually do not care about their group's contribution. Though Yonaire & Yi-Han were able to make her drop this mentality.
  • Because You Were Nice to Me: After the first class of Alchemy, she's friendlier with Yonaire & Yi-Han as both of them appreciate some of her skills (scouting & needlework) more than her own tower. Though she still had her own viewpoints.
  • Beneath the Mask: As a wilderness scout she's professional and vigilant, but outside of that she's prone to react emotionally.
  • Money Is Not Power: Believes in this, as she prefers to share her own excess meat to her tower over selling as Yi-Han & Yonaire suggested
  • Playing with Fire: Her innate element.
  • Textile Work Is Feminine: She's skilled in creating leather clothing with needles & fur, which is invaluable in the academy.

Eirongard

An academy established in a mana dense environment, it is a home to mountains, forests, rivers, and lakes.

     Os Gonadaltes

The principal of Einogard. An archmage who defies death by becoming a lich and a huge troll to his students.

  • Establishing Character Moment: He starts off showing his magical prowess by immobilizing the freshmen through magical pressure, then after receiving an answer from Adenart for his question, he first complements Adenart, then mock her for getting tricked easily, then he mocks the freshmen 2 more times in the same time period.
  • It Amused Me: Had fun making fun & trolling the students.
  • Our Liches Are Different: Usually appears as a big green skull
  • Slave to PR: Even when he's the principal of the most established magic academy in the empire, his school still needs to get funded from the empire and is willing to create outsider friendly events in order for them to give a good word to the empire.

     Garcia Kim
A troll and a teacher for Foundation of Magic.

  • All Trolls Are Different: She's a half-troll with great physique, but her strengths lie in her magic repertoire
  • Badass in Distress: When the Anti-Magic Group makes an ambush during her delivery mission, she tries her best to fight, but is in trouble when they used a magic absorbing device to render her powerless. Luckily, Yi-Han (who's escaping at that time) is able to relieve the pressure
  • Character Check: More with her species than her character, her troll lineage still makes her a threat by fighting against the Anti-Magic Group with her bare hands.
  • Face of a Thug: She knows she's threatening and make jokes about eating people, but is easily one of the nicest professors in the academy.
