Shoku
Nagata Oda/Kamen Rider Gaim/Armored War God Gaim
The lead male protagonist of the fic, he takes the place of Kazuto Hongo from the visual novel. Originally from modern day Japan, he was sent back in time. Kanu thinks he is the Messenger of Heaven due to his strange appearance AND how he dons his armor, much to his confusion. While reluctant at first, he seems to be more and more serious about playing the role of the Messenger of Heaven who will bring peace to the land.- Ascended Fanboy: He is a Kamen Rider Fan who became a real Kamen Rider.
- Catchphrase: "Kamen Rider Gaim! Arriving On Stage!"
- Chef of Iron: Nagata is just as good at whipping up dishes as he is at kicking ass.
- Chick Magnet: Being an Armored War God seems to have made him this in Season 2. Subverted, since notes that many of those girls were likely only in it because he is an Armored War God.
- Genre Savvy: His knowledge of Romance of the Three Kingdoms as well as all things Tokusatsu make him quite adept.
- Good Is Not Dumb: Goes hand in hand with him being Genre Savvy.
- Our Hero Is Dead: Twice. It was shocking the first time, not so much the second.
- Ship Tease: He is often mistaken as Kanu's husband, much to both their embarassment. In the last chapter, he and Kanu become an official couple
Kanu Unchou (Private name: Aisha)
The lead female protagonist of the fic. She is the Koihime†Musou universe's version of Guan Yu. She is the first person (aside from the bandit trio) whom Nagata meets upon arriving in China. She thinks Nagata is the Messenger of Heaven (mostly due to how the Arms descend from the sky), and wholeheartedly believes that he is the one who will bring peace to the land, and thus has since pledged her loyalty to him (much to his confusion). As of the end of the first fic, she and Nagata have fallen in love- Berserk Button: Don't mess with anyone she cares for. Though Rinrinshi are generally immune to any notable repercussions due to them being nigh invincible to attacks from anyone who is not a Rider
- Celibate Hero: Subverted in this fic, since there are a LOT of hints that she has feelings for Nagata. He returns her feelings in the epilogue
- Gender Flip: She's the Koihime†Musou version of Guan Yu
- Body Guard Crush: She swears loyalty to Nagata, and soon develops feelings for him.
Chouhi Yokutoku (Private name: Rinrin)
A young girl with enormous strength. She lost her family to bandits and was raised by her grandfather in the mountains. After his death, she became a sort of trouble maker in the village she lived in, but has since found a new family in Nagata and Kanu, whom she shares a sibling relationship with. She has great strength, but lacks in formal training, not that it stops her from kicking butt on a regular basis.- Androcles' Lion: Subverted since Chouhi often mistakes random wild animals for her childhood pets, leading to the characters having to run for their lives
- Balloon Belly: In episode 7 after the eating contest
- Brutal Honesty: She takes the "brutal" part of the trope to its finest.
- Constantly Curious: Played for laughs, since she often asks questions on topics that are...inappropriate for her age. Needless to say, everyone is quick to change the subject.
- Cute Clumsy Girl: Chouhi immediately invokes this when told to perform some basic manual tasks.
- Idiots Cannot Catch Colds: She attempts to prove this theory at the end of season one; it doesn't work.
- Innocent Fanservice Girl: Arguably, which usually leads to Kannu asking her to Please Put Some Clothes On
- Insane Troll Logic: Chouhi believes that by letting her spear fall on a crossroads, whatever direction it lands pointing towards is the divinely chosen correct path
- Too Many Belts: two overlapping, both purely ornamental given her skin-tight spats.
