The four islands.note

Due to the multitude of characters associated with "1000 Players Build MASSIVE Civilization in Minecraft", it has been separated into its own page.

All information documented here has been confirmed via the original video and other players' perspectives documented during the event. A playlist of the individual perspectives can be found here.

WARNING: Due to the nature of the original video, many of the characters involved could be considered their own Walking Spoiler.

The main character page is here.

Plains Island / The FedEx Alliance

    In General
  • Arcadia: Featured plenty of trees, plants, and bees, with no additional natural hazards to be wary of, allowing for civilization to get a head start there. This, compared to the other islands that had powdered snow, monster spawning dense foliage, or a distinctive lack of trees, meant that life was relatively peaceful in comparison, barring one major incident.
  • Mirroring Factions: As pointed out by Ish, Pendaris and UPS prove themselves to not be all that different. They're both democratic factions formed out of wanting to keep their people safe that resided on the southern half of the island.
  • Poor Communication Kills: Almost entered into a Civil War due to Sidefall attempting to reach out to other islands for alliances, something the other Plains states interpreted as a Pretext for War, which Sidefall never wanted. This was exacerbated by a propagandist (TrinkTop) deliberately spreading the lie that Sidefall was gearing up for an invasion, leading to a tense negotiation at The Tavern between Sidefall, HorusCrowned, and the other plains leaders before the miscommunication was cleared up and alliance established.

Pendaris

    In General
  • Absurdly Cool City: The original goal at least was to unite the people of the plains to make, "the most beautiful and nicest city." This would quickly give way to becoming more of a government as factions arose across the island, but the city at large was still quite nice.

    Horus

HorusCrowned

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/horus_0.png
"Our aim is building the most beautiful and nicest city on the entire server."

The founder and eventual leader of Pendaris.

  • Birds of a Feather: With Sidefall; both formed their faction out of positive intent for their people. This realization helped them to find common ground and avoid a war.
  • Horrible Judge of Character: Assumed from Sidefall's communications with the snow island that he was planning to betray the plains, causing him to set up blockades on his side of the island and prepare for war, when Sidefall wanted nothing of the sort.
  • Reasonable Authority Figure: While he doubted Sidefall's claims that the communication with the Aculon Empire had been a misunderstanding, Horus still gives him the benefit of the doubt and agrees to meet and talk things out, stopping a war before it could happen.
  • Reluctant Ruler: Downplayed, but when founding Pendaris, Horus had no original intent actually to be a leader of a political faction, but more or less fell into the role by default once UPS formed.
  • The Strategist: When fearing Sidefall had plans to betray the plains, he reached out to two, smaller factions closer to Sidefall to gain their allegiance, assuring if Sidefall were to turn on them, he'd be locked in with nowhere to go.

    Trinktop

Trinktop

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/trink.png
"Sidefall is going to attack us! TODAY!"

A propagandist who spreads a misleading lie telling of Sidefall's plans to launch an attack on Pendaris.

  • All There in the Manual: A comment from Trinktop in chat in one of Ish's later videos explains his actions: Pendaris unknowingly kicked his group out from their territory on day 1, Trinktop wanted to blow up Pendaris in revenge, and attempted to trick Pendaris and the UPS into going to war to make his job easier.
  • Ambiguous Situation: Ish's video leaves Trinktop's motives unclear, and in Inferno's video, Trinktop only admits that there was an elaborate plan and that it had failed. Trinktop would only admit to his motivations in the chat of a later video.
  • The Exile: Banished from (or more specifically, chased out of) the plains for his attempt to spark a war within the island's factions, fleeing to Theria.
  • Heel–Face Turn: Is genuinely grateful to Theria for taking him in after his banishment, and fights in the Battle of Aculon as part of their forces.
  • Small Role, Big Impact: Is responsible for nearly causing the war between Pendaris and UPS, and then their eventual alliance despite only appearing for a minute or two.

    Penguin

MoisPenguin911

"Here in KFC, we want family, not war."
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/penguin_90.png

The owner of a KFC in the plains.

  • Expy: Of Colonel Sanders himself.
  • Friendship-Straining Competition: When Chicken moves to the plains, he brings his business, Los Pollos Hermanos, with him, which slightly aggravates Penguin, since now he has competition to sell chicken.
  • Joke Character: A fairly unimportant, minor character in the grand scheme of the plot...Who happens to run a chicken fast food chain.

UPS (United Plains State)

    In General
  • Fun with Acronyms: Their actual name, the United Plains State, shortens to the acronym UPS.

    Sidefall

Sidefall

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/sidefall_7.png
"I just wanna make sure nobody dies."

The founding leader of UPS.

  • Birds of a Feather: With Horus; both formed their faction out of positive intent for their people. This realization helped them to find common ground and avoid a war.
  • Declaration of Protection: Founded UPS with the intent of keeping anyone under their state's rule safe during the unpredictable, early days of the event.
  • Good Is Not Nice: While the friendliest of the faction leaders during the event, he still sent a spy to place TNT underneath the Pendaris base, just in case negotiations fell through.
  • Nice Guy: Genuinely formed his faction, not out of any want of power, but to look out for the other denizens of the plains, and when meeting Horus, he quickly made his intent clear that he wanted no part in active war and would much rather they stayed on friendly terms.
  • Odd Friendship: With Seth, a cult leader who gladly takes advantage of his admirers for self-gain from the jungle island.
  • Tragic Mistake: Reached out to the snow island (specifically Turkey) to potentially partner with the plains, only for this to cause a chain reaction that would almost lead Pendaris to go to war against UPS.

    Poke

ThePokemonkey

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/poke_1.png
"This is awesome, man."

The first person to discover the center island in the middle of the world.

  • Bit Character: Only notable as a result of their discovery of the center island.
  • Small Role, Big Impact: Them discovering the center island gives way to the rest of the factions discovering it, eventually leading to the center island becoming a cultural hub and safe place for the various groups.

The Invisible Hand

    In General

    20JP

20JP, the Profit

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/jp_5.png
"We want to make sure that communists cannot take this away from us."

A capitalist who allied with Horus during the early days of the event.

The main character of his own perspective, which can be found here.

  • Back from the Dead: Died from drowning due to an ocean glitch on day 8, but was restored to life and returned to his people on day 9.
  • But Now I Must Go: After the Aculon war, 20JP gives a final speech disbanding the Invisible Hand to go out into the world to spread capitalism before ascending to the heavens.
  • Capitalism Is Bad: A devout capitalist, and the faction leader who is taken the least seriously by the overall plot.
  • Dirty Communists: A key part of his motivation is his own desire to keep communists away from his faction at all costs.
  • Hearing Voices: And said voices are apparently where he learned his deep love of capitalism, becoming inspired to spread these beliefs to others.

    Feebazz

Feebazz, the Archbishop

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/feebazz.png
"You're horrible at your job."

JP's closest ally and the local bishop.

    Ecki

Ecki, the Apostle

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/ecki.png
"..."

One of the heads of the Invisible Hand, and the most secretive.

  • The Quiet One: Doesn't talk to anyone, not even his fellow leaders.

    Inferno

infernoslayer621, the Seer

A follower of 20JP and Feebazz and a member of The Invisible Hand who initially followed his leaders in their various adventures and misadventures before stumbling upon a set of ancient texts on his home island and using their writings to become the cult's seer.

The main character of his own perspective, which can be found here.

  • Fortune Teller: He becomes a seer who tells of his cult members' future as a job having read about a person (20JP) returning from death and seeing that getting fulfilled.
  • Seers: He stumbled across a set of ancient books on the Plains island and used them to see the future. Among the mystical writings within those pages was a prophecy about a person coming back from the dead. Inferno added 20JP's name to the blank, and said guy returned to life a day later.

The Tavern

    In General

    Mindless

I_Am_Mindless, the Bartender

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/bartender_17.png
"Welcome to the Tavern. I hope you can enjoy a nice beer since it might be our last."

The bartender of the tavern.

    Snow

Snow

A fellow Tavern worker.

The main character of his own perspective, which can be found here.

Desert Island

Theria

    In General
  • Arc Villain: For the Emirate and 2E2G.
  • Meaningful Name: Named after part of the Greek word for freedom (Eleftheria).
  • The Republic: Just like their name suggests, the Therians primarily relied on elected leaders, in contrast to The Sultanate.
  • Spared, but Not Forgiven: Seen as such in the eyes of the Emirate, who allow themselves to go back on momentary trade terms following Tikkie's death, but never forgive Theria for their actions and actively work against them the rest of the event.

    Saparata

Saparata, 1st Monarch of Theria

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/sap.png
"Hopefully we can establish some peaceful relations for now. I mean, we're in the middle of a desert, why fight? You know?"

The elected leader of Theria, who quickly finds himself at odds with the Sultan and his dictatorship.

While he hasn't made a video from his own perspective, he has a video where he reacts to Ish's video and gives his viewpoint and some details about the role he played.

  • Adaptational Villainy: In EJK's perspective, Saparata refuses to properly punish a thief after they murdered a member of the Emirate, not believing their side of the story and only marginally lowering the required trade deal between the two factions. It took Ish getting involved to have the thief punished, and from there, Saparata acts as a thorn in the Emirate's side.
  • Anti-Hero: Seen as a hero amongst the people of Theria for his belief in democratic election and free rights for his people. However, he also shows himself to be far less accepting or just in his actions toward the secondary factions of the desert, treating them as less important by downplaying their problems, and subjecting them to harsh trade deals. This isn't even the mention of his hidden conspiracy with Davarit to murder the Sultan, which had it gone wrong, very well could have led to Theria's destruction.
  • Character Death: Jumps off the Theria tower, falling to his death onto the city streets below.
  • The Conspiracy: Secretly formed a plan to assassinate the Sultan with their former guard, Davarit, in order to establish peace in the desert, which he refused to tell anyone else, lest Theria be immediately invaded by an angered Sultanate. To do so, Davarit would publicly defect, baiting out the Sultanate's guards, before sneaking into the Sultanate to assassinate the Sultan himself. Davarit's attack resulted in failure, however, staging it during the Sultan's visit to a heavily guarded wedding. However, the plan ultimately succeeded when Zombta, Davarit's twin brother and fellow guard, assassinated the Sultan himself to avenge his brother's death, causing the Sultanate to collapse anyway.
  • Corrupt Politician: Tries to have Tikkie pardoned for his crimes of stealing from and attacking the Emirate, not even wanting to bother punishing him.
  • Dark Secret: Secretly formed a plan, without any input or knowledge from his citizens, to kill the Sultan, STORMINGHELL. He would take this to his grave in order to protect Theria from the Sultanate.
  • Decoy Protagonist: Built up as a protagonistic force opposing the Sultan's rule. Like the Sultan, he perishes before the halfway point.
  • Disc-One Final Boss: For the Emirate.
  • Driven to Suicide: Commits suicide via throwing himself off of Theria Tower. In Ish's dramatization, he does so due to Davarit's death and the failure of his plot to assassinate the Sultan, hoping to save his people from the Sultan's wrath for his involvement with Davarit's assassination attempt. In the actual events where Davarit survived, he committed suicide primarily because he had to go on vacation in real life and thought it would be funny to fall off a tower as his last act, although Saparata did believe that it greatly eased the Sultanate remnants' wrath towards Theria after the Sultan's death, as they mostly hated him rather than his nation.
  • Senseless Sacrifice: As stated in Driven to Suicide, he jumps off his city's tower to ensure his people do not suffer from the Sultan's wrath for nearly dying at Davarit's hands. Little was he aware, had he just waited, he'd have learned the Sultan had perished on his way back to his kingdom anyway as a result of his bodyguard's betrayal, leaving his suicide ultimately pointless, and his people without a leader.

    Jophiel

Jophiel_, the Successor

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/jophiel_4.png

The next elected leader of Theria following Saparata's death.

  • Must Make Amends: Following the Sultan's murder, she openly expressed interest in trying to unite the remaining factions under a single, stronger society, not wanting the lingering animosity to lead to their own factions killing each other first.
  • Nice Girl: Shows herself to be genuinely sweet toward EJK and the Emirate, not wanting to prolong their conflict. EJK still held on to his grudge against Theria, but it's the genuinely good thoughts and intentions that count.
  • Reasonable Authority Figure: Tried to have Tikkie punished for his actions against the Emirate at the first town meeting, before Saparata had her drop it. Later on, after her election, she tried to make peace with the Emirate herself on behalf of Theria, refused to purposefully endanger her people in a war of any kind if it could be avoided, and formed the Alliance with Seth and the plains out of a want to bring their people together rather than continue fighting these constant conflicts.
  • Superior Successor: While Saparata schemed behind his faction's back, albeit for good reason, Jophiel stays truly committed and honest with her people at all times, managing to stay in their good graces.
  • Token Good Teammate: Truly genuine in her intentions with the desert and its people, lacking the double standards and bias of Saparata while he was in charge and the chaotic Control Freak tendencies of the Sultan.

    Tikkie

TikkieWillem

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/thief_87.png

A thief from Theria who is responsible for them making an enemy of the Emirate.

  • Character Death: Personally executed by Ish for violating the rules of the game. What and how it happened is unknown, but it couldn't have been pretty.
  • Cruel and Unusual Death: On behalf of Ish, who personally dealt with him in an unknown manner.
  • Deader than Dead: Following Ish's intervention, Tikkie is not only dead, but seemingly wiped from existence as a whole.
  • Jerkass: Stole from the Emirate for little reason other than he could due to his superior armor and weapons.
  • Karma Houdini: In spite of his actions, Saparata makes the decision not to punish him, allowing him to get off scot-free for his murder of Leah.
    • Karma Houdini Warranty: That is until the Sultan got involved, who decided he'd have Tikkie executed for his crimes and had Theria had him over. Little was he aware, he'd have to deal with much worse.
  • Smug Snake: Gladly takes zero responsibility for his theft and murder of Emirate players, boasting his innocence and how they "overreacted", before leaving with Theria believing he had gotten away with what he'd done.
  • Unreliable Narrator: Downplayed the severity of his actions when reporting them to Theria, pointing to the Emirate as the true aggressors who overreacted to a simple trade.

The Sultanate

    In General
  • Decapitated Army: Fall aparts as a result of the death of STORMINGHELL at the hands of Zombta, which left them without their main leader. As a result, up to half of the population fled the state while the other half was forced to reorganize into militias dedicated to enacting vengeance on Zombta for his betrayal.
  • The Dictatorship: Ruled directly by STORMINGHELL himself, with all orders given seemingly coming from him.
  • Does Not Like Spam: Anyone under the Sultanate was forbidden from eating pork.
  • Praetorian Guard: Protected by the so-called "Elite Team," composed of the Amazon members from Season 1, which served to deliver justice from the Sultanate to anyone who wronged them, including terrorists, mountaineers who encroached on their territory, and traitors. They were led by the twin guards Zombta and Davarit, who bodyguarded the Sultan himself. After, the sultan's death, they remained in the Sultanate as the Sultanate militia, swearing vengeance on Zombta and the Alliance of Democratic nations, joining the Battle for Aculon on Aculon's side.

    Sultan STORMINGHELL

STORMINGHELL, the Sultan

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/the_sultan.png
"Yo, what up, Ish? The Sultan is BACK!"

The commanding dictator of the Sultanate. Loved by some for keeping order in the desert and protecting people from criminals, but hated by others for his authoritarianism and excessive willingness to crack down on perceived threats.

  • Adaptational Heroism:
    • In EGK's perspective, he's presented as a just and faithful ruler over his people and those aligned with them, looking out for their best interests and wishing to ensure the stabalization and future prospers of the desert as a whole.
    • In Winter's perspective, he's depicted as loyal to 2E2G, with his death being treated as a tragedy.
  • Assassination Attempt: Targeted for assassination by his bodyguard, Davarit, and the leader of Theria, Saparata, which initially fails. But Zombta, also frustrated with the Sultan, assassinates him in davarit's stead.
  • Assassin Outclassin': Early on, sends out a group of his elite guard to deal with an isolated community in the desert who planned to assassinate him...Supposedly.
  • Character Death: Hacked to death with an axe by Zombta on the travel back to his empire.
  • Disc-One Final Boss: While hyped up as a major threat throughout much of the early portion of the event, he's murdered a little under halfway through.
  • Evil Has a Bad Sense of Humor: Early on, Ryan made a joke about wanting to kill a leader, not intending to actually do so. Seeing this as a potential threat, the Sultan went on to send out his elite guards to kill him and anyone else they found under the guise of eliminating an assassin.
  • Might Makes Right: Invoked directly by the man; if anyone dares to defy him or his rule, he'll gladly take what he wants by force.
  • Old Friend: One of Ish, who he greets fondly while Ish visits the Sultanate for the first time.
  • Pet the Dog:
    • Listened to the Emirate's struggles and had the thief from Theria personally handed over for the sake of being executed for his murder of the Emirate member, Leah.
    • Believed the Emirate when they reported one of his men as a thief in spite of not needing to; he chose to prioritize good ties between the factions and then put preference on his own people.

    Davarit and Zombta

Davarit and Zombta, the Twins

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/twins_08.png

Twin brothers who serve as the Sultan's personal bodyguards.

  • Adaptational Villainy: In EJK's perspective, which instead paints them as cold-hearted traitors looking to capitalize off of the Sultan's death for personal gain.
  • Assassination Attempt: Davarit makes two attempts of them on the Sultan.
    • He first tries to bait out his men on a manhunt to Theria so he can kill the Sultan while he's alone, which is foiled when the leader leaves with his men to find Davarit and kill him himself.
    • The second is during a heavily guarded wedding the Sultan is attending, which ultimately leads to Davarit's demise.
  • Bodyguard Betrayal:
    • Davarit, frustrated by the Sultan's authoritarianism, becomes part of a conspiracy with the leader of Theria, Saparata, to murder the Sultan and take over the Sultanate.
    • Zombta started to become impatient with the Sultan's rule after he's forced to hunt down his twin brother, Davarit. This comes to a head when, during a failed assassination attempt, Davarit is killed, causing Zombta to kill the sultan himself while escorting him back home to the Sultanate.
  • The Brute: Quiet and intimidating, they're Sultan's top enforcers in making people do whatever he wants.
  • Character Death:
    • In Ish's dramatization, Davarit is murdered by Sultan's elite guard after a failed assassination attempt, while Zombta is killed during the raid on the Aculon Empire. In other retellings, they survive the Aculon war and are instead killed by Sultanate remnants afterwards.
  • Defector from Decadence: Leaves the Sultanate to embark on an assassination plot against the Sultan STORMINGHELL due to disliking his authoritarian policies, such as when he forced a group of mountaineers nearby from their territory, or when his forces pursued possible terrorists to Theria in violation of their territorial integrity.
  • Elite Mooks: The strongest, most decked-out members of Sultan's guard.
  • Mistreatment-Induced Betrayal: Witnessing Davarit's death at the hands of the Sultan and his men is enough to make Zombta finish the job himself, murdering STORMINGHELL and bringing an end to the Sultanate.
  • Noble Top Enforcer: While brutal in their tactics and relentless in a fight, the reason they go on to oppose the Sultan, in spite of their high status in his ranks, is because of his mistreatment of his people.
  • Spared by the Adaptation: Davarit survives the initial assassination attempt on the Sultan's life in EJK's perspective. Zombta also survives the raid on Aculon Tower.
    • Dies Differently in Adaptation: Davarit and Zombta are instead killing following the Aculon War, killed by the surviving members of the Emirate and Sultanate on the outskirts of the conflict.
  • World's Best Warrior: Both of them are renowned as some of the best PVPers on the server. Enough that the Bastion of Peace actively hoped to get them on their side after their defection from the Sultanate.

    Crow

OutlyingCrow

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/crow_52.png

The Sultan's closest ally after his personal guards, and his most elite soldier.

  • Dirty Coward: Following the Sultan's death, he abandons his position as leader immediately, leaving and disappearing off in the desert.
Crow: "I don't know if the great builds we had strove for can be completed, but there are some diehards here and if you attempt it, I can say you are more honorable than me. Goodbye."
    • Grew a Spine: He did however return for the Aculon War, joining the side of the Aculon Empire.
  • The Dragon: Sultan's most trusted comrade, Crow followed his orders to a fault without question.
  • Number Two: Served as the Sultan's representative when communicating outside of the Sultanate, specifically in regard to communications with the Emirate.
  • Pet the Dog: While ultimately abandoning his people, he nonetheless warns them in advance and gives them direction to potential allies and warns them to remove the Sultanate flag from their sheilds to avoid being attacked.
  • Screw This, I'm Outta Here: Rather than take on the position as the new head of the Sultanate, realizing he'd be in danger of potential attacks from Theria, he instead disbands the faction entirely and leaves.
  • Uncertain Doom: Never seen getting killed during the Aculon War, but he's also not seen being pardoned or among the surviving masses, leaving his fate unclear but likely not good considering he had been aligned with the losing side.
    • This is only reinforced by the ending of EJK's perspective, where he confirms all of his allies are dead. While he wasn't particularly close to Crow, like King, they were aligned, and since King's death is brought up as an example of such, things aren't looking too good for Crow either.

    DripChicken

DripChicken, Founder of Los Pollos Hermanos

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/chicken_9.png
"Welcome to Los Pollos Hermanos."

A chicken who founded his own fried chicken restaurant within the Sultanate Empire.

  • The Aggressive Drug Dealer: Offers Ish drugs (called "sugar") when he visits the earliest version of the Los Pollos Hermanos stand. While he seemingly gives this up after a bit in favor of being a regular businessman, he is forced to return to the trade when the farmers are no longer able to yield additional crop for his restaurant.
  • Earn Your Happy Ending: Lives out the rest of his days selling chicken to anybody who wants it, happy to no longer be under the thumb of dictators.
  • Hidden Depths: Following the Sultan's death, Chicken realizes the potential gain that could be had from this, before educating the people of the plains and having Sidefall send representatives in, showing great tactical promise compared to what had been shown prior.
    • Offers up half-price on all his food for any soldiers going into the Aculon War out of respect for Turkey, who once visited Los Pollos Hermanos after they had moved out to the plains.
  • Let's Meet the Meat: The owner of a fried chicken restaurant... who is, himself, a sapient humanoid chicken.
  • Mistreatment-Induced Betrayal: Due to running out of food to sell as a result of the Sultan conscripting the farmers to help with building the Holy City, he and the other farmers decide to move elsewhere to escape from their excessive work demands, first going to Theria before Saparata tells them to leave Desert for safety.
  • My Greatest Second Chance: Gets to open up Los Pollos Hermanos for a second time on the plains island, thankful to be free of the Sultan's dictatorship.
  • Restaurant-Owning Episode: Gets an entire story arc dedicated to him and the farmers being forced to work on the Sultan's monument instead of looking after their restaurant, causing it to struggle and them to lose patience with his politics. This would lead to them soon abandoning the Sultanate.
  • Spared by the Adaptation: In the actual events, he was killed by TooDrew after setting up a Los Pollos Hermanos stall near the Battle of Aculon, which was changed in Ish's dramatization.

    Defnd

Defnd

The main character of his own perspective, which can be found here.

    King

XXKXNG

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/king_73.png
The Sultanate's jail warden and an expert inventor.
  • Character Death: Killed in the aftermath of the Aculon War by 2E2G due to the confusion of the conflict.
  • Collateral Damage: Of the Aculon War, killed by his own side due to not recognizing him.
  • The Jailer: Appears to be the one responsible for jailing prisoners of the Sultanate, even having developed the various cells within, including the one deemed impossible to escape.
  • Odd Friendship: With the Emirate as a whole, specifically EJK. He came to admire their hard-held beliefs and want for justice.
  • The Smart Guy: Among the craftiest inventors of the Sultanate, including the various prisons, and developing the railway system between them and the Emirate.

    The Trader

The Trader, A Totally Legitimate Bussiness Man

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/other_thief.png
A guy who meets up with the Emirate for a trade deal... for some hidden morally dubious reasons.
  • Blatant Lies: When caught trying to steal diamonds, he claims to be there for the trade, claiming he has the leather he wants. EJK doesn't buy it.
  • Con Man: A seeming trader who was in reality trying to pull a quick theft over on the Emirate.
  • Desert Bandits: His true work in reality, trying to make alliances with other factions in hopes of making a quick buck off them before just stealing what he wants.
  • Give Me Back My Wallet: Caught trying to steal from the Emirate and is promptly robbed of his belongings.
  • Put on a Prison Bus: Imprisoned by the Sultanate for his attempted crimes against the Emirate.
  • What Happened to the Mouse?: What happened to him following the fall of the Sultanate is unknown, though he likely could have starved to death in prison.

Emirate

    In General
  • Anti-Villain: While not direct antagonists like the Sultanate or the Aculon Empire, they still nonetheless allied with them. Unlike them, however, their actions were more so out of hatred for a specific enemy rather than any interest in having any sort of dictatorship, and often presented themselves as considerably more noble than many of the other more villainous factions.
  • Arch-Enemy: Theria, specifically Saparata, and later Jophiel once she takes the throne.
  • Ascended Extra: Went from little more than a footnote to the main characters of EJK's perspective.
  • Noble Demon: Their actions were committed out of a genuine want for justice instead of any sort of malice.
  • Non-Action Guy: Due to their lack of strong armor and weapons, they were considerably more reluctant to get involved in any sort of active conflict than the other factions, especially without the promise of safety or allegiance.
  • Not What I Signed on For: The Emirate wanted nothing to do with the Aculon War, only participating in the hopes of destroying Theria. As soon as they realize things are going south, they book it.
  • Screw This, I'm Outta Here: Upon witnessing all the absolute chaos going on within the jungle island, they make the active decision to outright avoid it.
    • Seize their chance early into the Aculon War to try and escape the conflict with their lives, having never wanted a part in the conflict in the first place. Unfortunately, only EJK survives the escape.
  • True Companions: The only faction to experience absolutely no inner-team drama or betrayals.

    EJK

EJK9000, A Father to His Men

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/ejk_9.png
"Death to Theria!"

The founding leader of the Emirate. An aggressive debator looking out for his people's best interests with little care or investment in the problems of other factions.

The main character of his own perspective, which can be found here.

  • Anti-Villain: Allies with the Aculon Empire in the final battle not out of any investment in their cause, but instead with the hope of being able to destroy Theria and its soldiers.
  • Classical Anti-Hero: Aggressive, vindictive, and selfish, yet also genuinely loyal and uncompromising in his values.
  • A Day in the Limelight: His perspective, showing the Emirate's conflict with Theria and his devotion to getting justice for his people.
  • Deadpan Snarker: Fairly sarcastic and snarky toward many of the other faction heads, both in and out of the desert. He even lets Ish have it at a few points.
  • Dirty Coward: Begins fleeing the Aculon War without his army...Only to go back, determined to save them and slay their enemies.
  • Disapproving Look: Is left...Less than impressed by Aculon's defenses, comparing it to a death trap.
  • Downer Ending: He may have gotten a small amount of revenge, but Theria still lives on and his people died in a war they wanted no part in. He ultimately gained nothing from the conflict, and feels outcasted in a now peaceful world, deciding to live out the remainder of his days in solitude remembering those he lost.
  • Exact Eavesdropping: Would listen in on Theria meetings to hear about their latest plans against the Emirate and Sultanate.
  • A Father to His Men: Truly cared about his fellow members of the Emirate, only wanting the best for them. Their deaths shake him to his core once he realizes he was the only one to survive the war.
  • Jerk with a Heart of Gold: Gained a reputation among the factions for his more aggressive personality, but he truly was dedicated and loyal to his people, only wanting the best for them, especially when he thought they had been slighted.
  • No One Gets Left Behind: Manages to escape fairly early into the conflict of the Aculon War, but goes back to save his friends. Unfortunately, he fails to save any of them.
  • Pay Evil unto Evil: His primary belief; if you do wrong by him and his people, then you best expect he'll hit back twice as hard.
  • Pet the Dog: In spite of their lack of resources, he still allows any and all members of the Sultanate to join the Emirate following the Sultan's death and the collapse of his empire.
  • Sole Survivor: The only member of the Emirate to survive the aftermath of the Aculon War.
  • Speak Ill of the Dead: Outright celebrates once news of Saparata's death goes public.
  • Undying Loyalty: To the Sultan, who he genuinely and greatly respected for his efforts to help the Emirate and keep things just and fair between them and Theria. Following his death, EJK opens the Emirate's doors to any refugees from the faction.
  • Ungrateful Bastard: Despite Jophiel's generosity towards the Emirate, EJK's resentment of Theria was too strong, so he planned to exploit her generosity in an "ethically questionable" plan to kidnap her to have Theria declare war on them. Although he notes that they didn't have any problems with her in particular.
  • Unreliable Narrator: A self-admitted example; he's very open about how his perspective of the event is heavily biased in favor of himself and his allies.
  • Villain Protagonist: Downplayed; while he ultimately played for the wrong side in the end, he constantly shown himself to be a genuine, loyal man who holds his morals close to his chest.

    Flapy

flapyjacky789, the Right Hand

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/flap_67.png
EJK's right-hand man.
  • Battle Chant: Leads one with the survivors of the Emirate alongside Flapy, chanting that they will destory Theria and all who ally with them.
"Bring war!"
  • Character Death: Killed in the aftermath of the Aculon War by a member of the Sultanate, both sides mixed up as a result of the messy conflict.
  • Collateral Damage: Of the Aculon War, murdered by a member of the Sultanate after trying to stop him from killing a fleeing target.
  • The Heart: Of the Emirate, rallying them together with battle cries and chants to keep up morale and stay focused on their objective. He fairly easily manages to not only consistently win them over, but their allies as well.
  • Heroic Sacrifice: Died trying to save a random civilian from getting murdered as they were fleeing the war.
  • Number Two: EJK's closest ally and friend throughout the conflicts associated with the Emirate.
  • Who Names Their Kid "Dude"?: EJK is left exasperated at having to even say his name out loud.

    Leah

Jinyoungie, the Architect

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/leah_66.png

An architect who was murdered by a thief, only to be revived by Ish, the only case of such a thing to happen.

    Cosmic

Cosmiccookie5, the Miner

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/cookie_3.png

The only Emirate miner to survive the expeditions for better materials.

  • Battle Chant: Leads one with the survivors of the Emirate alongside Flapy, chanting that they will destory Theria and all who ally with them.
"Paint the yellow sands red!"
  • Character Death: Killed in the aftermath of the Aculon War.
  • Sole Survivor: The only member of the Emirate miners to survive going into the Aculon War.
    • Coming out of the Aculon War, he's the only one of EJK's allies to still be alive, being chased by one of the Sultan's assassins. However, while EJK manages to save him, Cosmic is unfortunately still killed during the aftermath.

    Steve

SteveButHesBuff, the Chad

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/steve_21.png

The strongest member of the Emirate, and one of EJK's most loyal allies.

  • The Big Guy: Served as such for the Emirate, helping to collect a majority of the sand they needed for sandstone and overall having a very imposing presence.
  • Character Death: Killed in the aftermath of the Aculon War.
  • The Generic Guy: In terms of appearance, he's little more than a standard Steve.
  • Mook Lieutenant: For the Emirate, attending important meetings between factions as a representative.
  • Nominal Importance: Given a name and occasional screentime, but for the most part remains largely irrelevant to the proceedings within the Emirate.

2E2G

    Winter

W1NTER W1ZARD, the Rookie

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/winter_16.png

A rookie player who missed the first day and is hastily recruited into the first faction he finds.

The main character of his own perspective, which can be found here.

  • Character Death: Dug out underneath by an enemy player, who proceeded to knock him down the Aculon tower to his death below.
  • A Day in the Limelight: His perspective, which showcased 2E2G's own perception of the desert conflict and why they ultimately sided with the Aculon Empire.
  • Fearless Fool: Tended to rush into situations without much thought, and would actively antagonize their enemies during conversations. This later results in his death, as him playing risky leads to his early demise during the final battle.
  • Logical Latecomer: Due to his inexperience with such an event, Winter would often be involved in and unprepared for many of the events unfolding across the desert's political climate.
  • Naïve Newcomer: Winter knew absolutely nothing coming into the event, and worse yet, he completely missed the entire first day, meaning he was coming in blind and without proper starting equipment.
  • Sixth Ranger: Became one to 2E2G as a result of his late join.
  • Undying Loyalty: To 2E2G, genuinely respecting and appreciating them for taking him in. This is later extended to the Sultan, who he built a monument in the likeness of. After the Sultan's death, he completes the Sultan's holy city in his honor before heading off to defend the Aculon Empire.

    Moon

MrMoon___, the Loyalist

The leader of 2E2G, who welcomed Winter into his group after he missed the first day.

  • I Just Shot Marvin in the Face: Ended up murdering King during the aftermath of the Aculon War, seemingly by total accident.
  • The Leader: Moon served as this to 2E2G, one of the only major factions within the desert.
  • Uncertain Doom: We never learn his fate following the final battle. However, considering his allegiance to the losing side, it's highly likely he didn't survive.
  • Undying Loyalty: To the Sultan, who Moon forged a personal pact with just prior to his death. When the faction realized Theria was involved with the Sultan's execution, this lead to Moon personally swearing vengeance, having 2E2G join the Aculon Empire for the final battle to ensure Theria's destruction.

    Ram

RAMun8

An archivist of 2E2G. Her perspective can be seen here.

  • Bait-and-Switch Comment: Ram arranges a meeting with SeaPlural, who killed one of her fellow 2E2G members. You'd expect her to confront him about his crime or start attacking him, but instead:
RAMun8: sea plural, I... I want to marry you!
  • Birds of a Feather: After the Aculon war, she quickly befriends KaNukei due to hearing he's a fellow archivist, despite them being on opposite sides of the war.
  • Honey Trap: On day 3, SeaPlural, a high-ranking member of the Sultanate, captured and killed a 2E2G member without trial. Ram's plan to avenge this injustice? Proposing marriage to him so that she and her fellow archivist Abraxun can assassinate him at the wedding. Despite many complications, including Davarit showing up as part of his plot to assassinate the Sultan, it succeeds.
  • "Ray of Hope" Ending: While accompanying KaNukei to a fairground on the snow island, she discovers that someone left a 2E2G banner there, causing her to resolve to search for any remaining survivors of her faction.
  • Small Role, Big Impact: Ram's wedding unwittingly complicates Davarit's coinciding plot to assassinate the Sultan, which leads to Davarit failing to assassinate him and thus Zombta doing it in his brother's place.

Mountain Guild

    Ryan

It_Ryan

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/ryan_73.png

A frequently unlucky red guy who would end up forming a community up in the desert mountains.

The main character of his own perspective, which can be found here.

  • Born Unlucky: Just about every problem he encounters truly comes down to just a horrendous series of bad luck. From a medicore spawn to making an unfortunate joke to someone allied with the Sultan, putting him in the crossfire, Ryan never caught much of a break. This would all come to a head when he was revealed to be on the Sultan's hit list, meaning if his guild was to survive, he'd have to die.
  • Character Death: Killed via fall damage while trying to escape the Sultan's guards.
  • A Day in the Limelight: His perspective, which showed the average struggle of these sorts of events, and the series of unfortunate circumstances that lead to his early death.
  • The Everyman: A fairly normal, decent guy who acts pretty much the same way anyone would be expected to act in this kind of simulation.
  • Small Role, Big Impact: If his joke really was part of the misbelieved assassination threats the Sultan received, then Ryan is partly responsible for the Sultan's attack on the community near Theria, which in effect spurred the rest of the inner-desert conflict that would eventually lead to the Sultan's demise.
  • Tragic Mistake: One little joke was all it took to turn Ryan into a plausible assassin under the Sultan's rule, and ensured the demise of the Mountain Guild before it could even prosper.
  • Undignified Death: While trying to escape the Sultan's guards, he lands wrong and dies of fall damage.

    ONXSO

ONXSO

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/on.png

A man Ryan met atop the mountain in the desert, whose community house became the foundation of the mountain community.

  • Bit Character: Has less than 5 seconds of screentime total before seemingly disappearing forever.
  • Small Role, Big Impact: Him building a community house up in the mountains led to the formation of the mountain community, and as a result, forged Ryan's journey from then on.
  • What Happened to the Mouse?: He never returns after the first day, leaving his fate completely unknown afterwards.

Jungle Island

    In General
  • Hungry Jungle: Due to the dense foliage, travel throughout the island proved incredibly difficult, both as a result of the constant mob spawns on the forest floor and the darkness making it hard to see far into the forest. The result was that the Jungle became a hotspot for banditry and disputes between different factions, further heightening the danger, while the difficult travel made communication near impossible due to the 100-block limit on in-game communication, leading to political fragmentation and diplomatic failure.
  • Out of Focus: Downplayed, but of the four islands, they're the most isolated in terms of plotlines, mostly sticking to themselves and either being left out of or straight up not being acknowledged in many of the greater conflicts in the server.
  • Poor Communication Kills: Communicating in the Jungle in any large capacity proved incredibly difficult as a result of the dangers of navigating the forest. This led to many civil disputes, the rise of banditry, and a lack of diplomatic channels between civilizations, which came to a head when the Sea People embarked on an anti-banditry campaign that unknowingly threatened the allies of SethHyphen, leading to the two factions being at each other's throats, before eventually taking different sides in the Aculon War.

Seth Citadel

    In General
  • Cult of Personality: Invoked by Ish when he first comes to Seth's base, as Seth had his followers change their skins to mimic his face, presumably in adoration, which Seth denied.
Seth: "It's a way of life."
  • Plucky Comic Relief: The most overtly comedic faction across the entire event.
  • Scam Religion: Seth is fairly obviously not a God, being just as capable of dying to any random Joe Schmoe as anyone else. That doesn't mean he doesn't openly embrace his newfound status.

    Seth

SethHyphen, God Among Men

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/seth_72.png

A forest inhabitant who found himself the center of admiration of a group of survivors from the jungle, who'd go on to name him as their leader. Thus formed, the Citadel of Seth.

The main character of his own perspective, which can be found here.

  • Arch-Enemy: With Yeet, the leader of the Sea People, for murdering his men in their attempts to clean out the jungle of bandits. Following the end of the war, they appear to have made amends.
  • Big-Lipped Alligator Moment: Invoked; his perspective doesn't take the canon timeline and events of the experiment seriously at all, and instead warps the whole thing into a constant comedy of errors completely separated from anything that happened... Or maybe what he's showing is what actually happened and we're just seeing the idealized version. Either way, it very purposefully doesn't line up very well with the rest of what we know or are presented.
  • Blatant Lies: Claims the cult surrounding him is just "a way of life", comparing it more so to a religion. Nobody's buying it.
  • Character Signature Song: Played for Laughs; his perspective ends with this.
  • Cloudcuckoolander: As his perspective shows, Seth is...Considerably out there, not that as much is surprising considering his cult's status.
  • False Prophet: ZigZagged; he isn't a God and he knows that, but as a result of joining the Alliance of Allies, and them winning the Aculon War, he actually does end up making good on his promise to give his people a better life.
  • Hazy-Feel Turn: While not renouncing his cult and seemingly still holding onto some lecherous values, he nonetheless joined the Alliance of Allies, becoming the primary representative of the jungle island.
    • Heel–Face Turn: He completes his redemption following the Aculon War, joining the other allies in pardoning those who survived it, including his greatest enemy, Yeet.
  • Marriage of Convenience: Gets married to one of his cult members- not out of any sort of attraction, but so he could demand wedding gifts from the rest of the jungle tribes.
  • Odd Friendship: With Sidefall, a kind person of the people with zero interest in war from the plains island.
  • Pet the Dog: Gladly took in refugees from the Aculon Empire without any kind of catch.

    The Monkeys

The Monkeys, Tree Builders

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/monke.png

A small jungle faction dedicated to building the biggest tree on the server as a shrine to their "monke religion".

  • Bit Character: Fairly uninvolved with the center plot of the event. On purpose.
  • Earn Your Happy Ending: They managed to make that tree after all, becoming the largest beacon of progress on the jungle island and a cultural hub between the two sides of the war.
  • Joke Character: A fanatical religious group who wishes to build...A giant tree...On an island that has nothing but giant trees.

    Clebb

_Clebb_, the One Who Missed Everything

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/clebb.png
"What the fuck, what happened?!"

A guy who left fairly early into the event, only to come back...In the middle of the Aculon War!

  • Action Survivor: The epilogue shows he did survive the Aculon War, an absolute shock considering how he was essentially right in the middle of it with literally no gear.
  • Joke Character: A random nobody who managed to miss literally every major event on the server, only returning just in time for what he immediately assumes is the end of the world!
  • Late to the Action: Very.

    Gamerfolk

Gamerfolk, the Failed Spy

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/gamerfolk.png

A member of the Citadel who planned to spy on Seth, which went...Poorly.

  • Character Death: Locked in a cage, set on fire, and pelted with arrows by Seth's supporters.
  • Red Shirt: Only is seen in a single part of Seth's perspective, before he's brutally murdered.
  • Sacrificial Lamb: Solely dies to show how well Seth responds to any attempts at espionage or betrayl in his faction.
  • Tragic Mistake: Had he just not brought up his intent to listen in on Seth's conversations, there's a good chance he wouldn't have died at all.

The Sea People

    In General
  • He Who Fights Monsters: Decided that the jungle bandit problem needed to be solved by force regardless of how culpable they were since their base was raided by bandits earlier in the event, leading to the death of their original leader. Unfortunately, they targeted people who were allies of SethHyphen, leading to Seth preparing to wage war on them.
  • Knight Templar: They take a stance early on that the only way of curbing the constant crimes of the jungle was to treat all crimes as equal, associating and murdering common thieves as on the same level as killers and bandits.

    Yeet

yeetspeak, Bringer of Order

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/yeet_8.png

The second ruler of the Sea People, who decided to enforce more strict means of dealing with crime in response to Big's death.

  • All Crimes Are Equal: Firmly believes in killing any criminal he finds, regardless of how severe the crime, because regardless, they still broke the rules. With his full pardon following the war, they appear to have at least found some sort of common ground.
  • Anti-Villain: Joins the Aculon Empire for the final battle, but his motives of a more lawful jungle are hard to argue against considering its long-held reputation of being incredibly dangerous and full of criminals up to that point.
  • Arch-Enemy: Seth, who in Yeet's eyes, is stopping him and his people from wiping out the scoundrels and filth of the jungle who have caused its reputation as a lawless wasteland.
  • Lawful Stupid: Was more than willing to endanger himself and his people over a potential war with Seth to uphold his intent to kill any known criminals located on the jungle island.
  • Principles Zealot: Stands by his principles to deal with the bandits of the jungle no matter what, even being willing to go to war over them.
  • Turn the Other Cheek: Spared and pardoned for their actions taken up to and during the war following its end.
  • You Look Familiar: Looks more than a little similar to Saparata.

    Big

TheBigNo, the Original

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/big_7.png

The original leader of the Sea People, he was murdered by a rogue tribe of wandering bandits.

    Ciarán

CiaránPixelz, Bane of Tyrants

The leader of Liberty's Legion which was set up very near The Sea People. He and his faction believe in freedom and self-determination while warring against iron-fisted tyrants who abuse their power.

The main character of his own perspective, which can be found here.

  • Bottle Episode: His perspective mostly takes place within his faction's territory and the Jungle island, with little mention of other world events, other than attending a talent show and the war against Aculon.
  • A Day in the Limelight: He and his faction received no notice in the original video, due to the jungle generally being chaotic and the factions there mostly minding their own business. In Ciarán's video, he and his team all get time to shine.
  • Due to the Dead: One of his fellow leaders, TheLovingJevil who also served as the team's diplomat, was blown up by a Creeper on the very first day. He and another member of his faction built two monuments to honor his short life, Ciarán's being an angel statue, and the other member a church that was used for Jevil's funeral.
  • Lesser of Two Evils: He and his faction were put in a dilemma upon hearing that the Sea People sided with the Aculon Empire upon learning the Seth Citadel was allegedly housing Wazz0ck and were intending to attack Aculon. SethHyphen's nation was deemed to be just as bad as Aculon and their allies, and the Legion was against tyrants. To decide which nation was worse, Ciarán kidnapped a tarot reader, Pqche, from Aculon and fiercely interrogated her about the empire, learning they were going to war with the world, especially against the Bastion of Peace. With that, Pixelz decided that Aculon's values were "too distant" from the Legion's and decided to fight the empire, which ended up being the right choice, as the Seth Citadel was also fighting against Aculon and its overly-controlling rule (not that Pixelz knew it).
  • Misplaced Retribution: He blames Yorkshire for intentionally using their sand trap to assassinate DrPickle_ and a few others on Day 7, believing they tried to kill Pickle (who survived by executing a water bucket clutch) for no reason. From SethHyphen's perspective, however, a random player accidentally triggered the trap as those people, Pickle included, discovered said trap.
  • Not in This for Your Revolution: Using the information from his interrogation with tarot reader Pqche, Ciarán and his faction joined the other nations fighting against Aculon, but only to free the world from tyranny as Elanuelo and his empire's values were "too distant" from his faction's.
  • Pity the Kidnapper: After kidnapping and interrogating Pqche, he tried to get her to stay on the Dead Island in a tent so that she wouldn't blab about him. Pqche annoys him to near-insanity by singing "99 Bottles of Beer" for over twenty minutes, causing him to run the heck away.
  • Rousing Speech: Before the Battle of Aculon, he verbally rallies his team to fight against "the forces of tyranny" and triumph no matter the cost. Only three members of his team heard it.
  • This Means War!: He was notified of TheLovingJevil's death by a Creeper blowing him up, along with some other people in the Jungle dying to more Creepers, and he himself nearly got blown up by one. Angered by this turn of events, he tells his team they need to declare war on the Creepers. Owing to Ish removing Creepers later into the event, however, the Legion doesn't get to fight any.

Yorkshire

    Wazz0ck

Wazz0ck, "Ruler of the World"

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/woznok_7.png
"I'm gonna take over the world!"

A wild, unpredictable mutt who wishes to take over the world.

  • Anti-Hero: While, yes, he initially has selfish goals of taking over the world and treats those within his faction fairly poorly, his Zero-Approval Gambit was done out of necessity to keep the Jungle factions from going to war, avoiding many potential deaths, including his own people.
  • Character Death: Executed via being pushed off the Monkey Clan's giant tree, plummeting to his death below.
  • Driven to Madness: Played for Laughs; Ish thought this was happening to him as a result of the librarians trolling him with more library towers dotted around his territory.
  • Final Speech: Just before Wazz0ck is executed, he gives one wherein he states that "I've made lots of mistakes", and that "Time can never be your trusted friend", ending by saying "It's now my time to go", just before being pushed off of the Monkey Cult's tree to his death.
  • Good All Along: In spite of how he's introduced, he ultimately proves himself to be more honorable and selfless than he let out, willingly sacrificing his own life to ensure the safety of the rest of the jungle's people.
  • Heroes' Frontier Step: An anti-heroic example of this trope. Wazz0ck initially wanted to take over the world, but his final act, while causing the deaths of several innocents, proved that he was willing to sacrifice his own reputation and life in the name of peace.
  • Heroic Dog: A humanoid pug, and the sole reason the jungle manages to survive going into the Aculon War with minimal casualties.
  • Kick the Dog: While ultimately done for a selfless reason of avoiding war, his sand trap still leads to the death of seven people from Seth and Yeet's factions, something he is called out for during his execution. It gets worse when taking into account Seth's perspective, which ends up showing the trap wasn't as hidden as Wazz0ck had thought, with several people dying as a result of it even prior to the meeting.
  • Nothing Left to Do but Die: According to Ish in his "How I Made" video, Wazz0ck decided to turn himself in because he was satisfied with all he did in the experiment and didn't feel like playing anymore, so he bet his life on a rock-paper-scissors match with one of the Sea People and lost.
  • Rasputinian Death: While not portrayed in Ish's video, in the actual events it took multiple tries for his execution to go through, as someone saved him with a water bucket on the first attempt.
  • Senseless Sacrifice: Downplayed; while ultimately Seth and Yeet would eventually go to war regardless as a result of taking different sides of the Aculon War, it still avoided unnecessary conflict and potentially hundreds of deaths in the moment, instituting a momentary peace and keeping the jungle's numbers strong going into the final days.
  • Take Over the World: His original plan, at least before he willingly caused the jungle to declare war on him to stop Seth and Yeet's factions from warring with each other and maintain the peace for as long as possible.
  • Token Good Teammate: Downplayed, as he has his own fair share of vices, but he's the only faction leader among the jungle residents to ultimately prioritize the lives of the island's denizens over a potential war, and gladly makes himself a public enemy in order to avoid more pointless death.
  • Zero-Approval Gambit: After the peace talks between SethHyphen and yeetspeak broke down, he decided to use his sand trap to focus their grievances on him first so as to delay the inevitable war within the jungle, which he only revealed to Ish. Ultimately, after evading capture for a while, he willingly turns himself in and is executed after giving a Final Speech. While it did allow for reconciliation to happen for a time, the factions still went to war due to siding with opposing factions during the Aculon War.

    Darbo

Darbo, Wazz0ck's Only Friend

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/darbo.png
Wazz0ck: "This is my right-hand man."
Ish: "Hello, right-hand man, Darbo-"
Wazz0ck: "Don't talk to him. He doesn't speak."

Wazz0ck's loyal supporter and right-hand man.

  • Action Survivor: Revealed to have survived the aftermath of the Aculon War in the epilogue.
  • Earn Your Happy Ending: Shown attending stand-up comedy night in the jungle following the war, not only confirming he was not executed alongside Wazz0ck for his crimes, but that he had in fact been pardoned, allowed to live out the rest of his life in peace.
  • G-Rated Stoner: Judging from his species and the color of his eyes, he's fairly obviously made of marijuana of some kind, not that as much is confirmed outright.
  • Number Two: Wazz0ck's main ally and subordinate, he was responsible for many of Wazz0ck's other duties such as setting off his sand trap right underneath the jungle delegations.
  • Only Friend: The only person Wazz0ck could trust, and his most loyal supporter.
  • Plant Person: A walking, talking plant monster. What exactly he's made of isn't confirmed, though considering the color of his eyes, it can be assumed fairly easily.
  • The Quiet One: When Ish attempts to introduce himself to Darbo, Wazz0ck tells him that Darbo doesn't speak. How true this actually is could be debated.
  • Undying Loyalty: Goes along with Wazz0ck's plan to keep the jungle factions from going to war, in spite of the knowledge this would likely make him a public enemy as well.

    The Librarians

pinkwinx10 and Suzukae, Wazz0ck's Worst Enemies

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/librarians_1.png
Suzukae (left) and pinkwinx10 (right)
Ish: "You guys did this out of spite, didn't you?"
The Librarians: "Yea- no- well...Yeah."

A pair of bookkeepers who catch Wazz0ck's ire for their shabby work building their library, which they take great pleasure in.

  • Aw, Look! They Really Do Love Each Other: Despite their petty squabbles with Wazz0ck, both of them mourn his death, with pinkwinx10 in particular being entrusted with Wazz0ck's post-death testament.
  • Hidden Depths: Point out to Seth that considering all the tension within the jungle, it'd be a far greater idea to try and unite together and form a more focused government effort.
  • Kindhearted Cat Lover: Fairly friendly to everyone (besides Wazz0ck), and own cats who live inside the library with them.
  • Sitcom Arch-Nemesis: Purposefully egg on and get on Wazz0ck's nerves just because they know he doesn't like their building.
  • Those Two Guys: Or girls, in this case.

Snow Island / The Aculon Empire

    In General
  • Aloof Leader, Affable Subordinate: The primary distinction between Emperor Elanuelo and his acting emperor, AFreakinTurkey. Turkey was a Reasonable Authority Figure, willing to listen and care for the people of Aculon even when their ideals opposed Elanuelo's, eventually deciding that democracy would be better off for the people he served. Elanuelo, on the other hand, chose to put himself above the people, setting up an elaborate system of feudal authority that answered to him and him only in order to secure his position at the top of Aculon's hierarchy, keeping him isolated from the concerns of the people. When Turkey came to discuss reforming the empire into a democracy, his paranoia got the best of him, and he ordered Turkey and his followers executed. However, this caused The Alliance of Democratic Nations to declare war on him, leading to his demise at the Battle of the Iron Torch.
  • Hegemonic Empire: The empire was formed not through conquest but by Elanuelo convincing the leaders of each of the Snow Island's settlements to throw their lot behind him.
  • The Purge: Elanuelo enacts this on day 10 (Ish's dramatization) or day 8 (actual events), killing Turkey as well as a bunch of his supporters as well as other Aculon officials such as Ender, Burney, and Soggy who opposed Elanuelo's policies, due to mistakenly believing they planned a revolution against him.
  • Quicksand Sucks: Early on, the Snow Island suffered casualties en mass as a result of large, bottomless snow pits that would trap and suffocate players.

Leadership

    Elanuelo

Elanuelo, the True Leader

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/elan_2.png
"Tomorrow's certainly gonna be interesting..."

The secretive and ambitious leader of the united Snow Island, later known as the Aculon Empire.

  • Big Bad: The main antagonist of the event as a whole, Elanuelo's dictatorship over the Aculon Empire and the political waves that followed were largely responsible for much of the grief within the server, and the final war between him and the Alliance served as a battleground for all the factions to work out their opposition against each other.
  • Can't Take Criticism: Quick to label any criticism of his policies as treason, which made it extremely difficult for the more level-headed Aculon officials to communicate with him. Their final attempt only leads to him and his knights purging as many officials that disagreed with him as possible.
  • Contrasting Sequel Antagonist: Despite overall being an Expy of Solev from the previous civilization experiments, he has several notable differences that mark him as a unique type of threat:
  • Control Freak: Becomes increasingly paranoid and unpredictable at Turkey's growing reputation among the people of the Aculon Empire, fearing he could usurp his power, ultimately leading to him having Turkey executed.
  • Disney Villain Death: While Elanuelo was fighting from the top of the Aculon Tower, the Iron Torch, a player called Dbest_ destroyed a block from underneath Elanuelo's feet, causing him to fall straight to the bottom and land in lava.
  • Expy: Became one of Solev from the previous civilization event, directly ruling over a large, cohesive, dictatorial snow faction, before ultimately being overthrown by an angry international community.
  • Fatal Flaw:
    • Paranoia. Every major mistake he makes in his leadership comes as a result of thinking others are secretly plotting against him, eventually causing people to actually plot against him in response to his excessive actions and leading to his own empire crumbling.
    • Envy. Turkey's newfound popularity among his people angered him to no end, seeing it as betrayal. It culminates with him killing Turkey.
  • Final Boss: The final threat for the civilizations at large during the Aculon War.
  • Self-Fulfilling Prophecy: Fearing that others, including his own people, were plotting behind his back, he decides to rule over his empire with iron-fisted, controlling ways, including sending spies to every other island to search for any defectors. He even has Turkey brutally executed, falsely believing Turkey was plotting to usurp his rule. As a result, everyone who was friends with Turkey, including the nations forming the Bastion of Peace, actually plotted to kill Elanuelo and tear down his empire to avenge this injustice.
  • Shadow Dictator: Rules over all of the Aculon Empire, but makes an active effort to keep their presence hidden, instead delegating their duties out to their most loyal followers. He'd make his first active appearance around 1/3rd of the way into the event.
  • Well-Intentioned Extremist: Downplayed, then ultimately Subverted; he states his belief that order is what's best for his people, but as his actions go on to show, especially in regards to the treatment of his underlings and citizens, he shows himself to be little else than a Control Freak.

    Turkey

AFreakinTurkey, Man of the People

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/turkey_1.png
"Glory to Aculon!"

A duke of the Aculon Empire who served as acting emperor for the first six days of the experiment. Beloved by the people for his competent leadership.

  • Character Death: Assassinated by Elanuelo. In Ish's dramatization, he was dropped into a lava pit underneath Elanuelo's throne on Day 10, while in other retellings, he was killed by Elanuelo in combat on Day 8.
  • Cincinnatus: Appointed the acting emperor by Ender due to Elanuelo being unable to rule in person, and willingly ceded power to Elanuelo once he was able to. He eventually came to regret this decision, not because of a desire for power, but due to concerns over how Elanuelo was running the empire.
  • The Hero Dies: The closest thing the event had to a recurring protagonist, and he's killed by Elanuelo on the beginning of the 10th day, sparking a revolution against the dictator for his actions and leading into the final conflict.
  • Inspirational Martyr: After his death, he quickly became a symbol of the Alliance of Democratic Nations, inspiring them during the battle for Aculon, and having a statue built in his name afterwards.
  • Killed Off for Real: Elanuelo's purge of Aculon officials was caused by him seeing a deleted message in a Discord server's mod logs. Since this was metagaming and thus against the rules, Ish had the option of reviving the people who were killed in The Purge; however, since Turkey's death was too impactful to the story, he instead decided to leave Turkey dead while reviving other killed Aculon officials as a compromise.
  • Loved by All: By the end of day 9, just about every faction adored Turkey, seeing him as the rebel who saved refugees and stood up against Elanuelo's tyrannical rule. While he'd be the first to admit this wasn't technically true, he was adored all the same.
  • Nice Guy: While occasionally strict as a high-ranking official within the empire, he was well respected and liked amongst the snow island's people for his genuine kindness, even eventually siding with Aculon's people over his leader once he began to go too far.
  • Number Two: Being the acting emperor of Aculon before Elanuelo could appear in public, he, by necessity, was treated as second only to the Emperor himself. Thus, he organized events, gathered resources, and punished dissidents in lieu of Elanuelo's input, and became popular for his down-to-earth and amicable image. However, this led Elanuelo to distrust Turkey over his growing support and willingness to aid his people at the expense of Aculon, leading to him executing Turkey when he proposed making Aculon more democratic.
  • Reasonable Authority Figure: Was very willing to listen and care for the people of Aculon, officiating marriages, communicating on behalf of the Emperor on matters of diplomacy with other nations, and helping those against Elanuelo's reign to escape the island. He even decided to preach for democracy in Aculon after visiting the other islands and learning how prosperous they were despite being democratic. However, his actions caused the Emperor to distrust him, fearing he would use his support to overthrow him, causing Turkey to be executed during one visit with the Emperor.
  • Remember the Dead: Following the fall of the Aculon Empire, a statue of Turkey is erected so that he may always be remembered.
  • Too Good for This Sinful Earth: Easily among the kindest, most diplomatic players on the entire server, and he's murdered for it, seen as a traitor by Elanuelo for daring to consider the perspectives of the other islands.
  • Took a Level in Kindness: Started off as a strict enforcer for Elanuelo's rule, including once holding a citizen at bowpoint, but came to regret his actions and started working towards a fairer government for all.
  • Undying Loyalty: Was truly and genuinely aligned with Elanuelo, believing him to be a good leader and a good friend; not once did he ever consider betraying him. Too bad Elanuelo believed otherwise.
  • Universally Beloved Leader: As Ender put it in his retelling, "Turkey is the single most beloved person in all of Aculon." This reputation remained even after he stepped down from leadership, and his reputation was the Bastion of Peace's last shot at convincing Elanuelo to cease his tyranny. His death causes people who didn't necessarily have problems with Aculon before to turn on Elanuelo and leave Aculon in droves.
  • Walking the Earth: Spent much of the later portion of the event traveling the world, visiting each of the different factions and taking in their cultures.

    Ender

ItzzEnder

The crown prince of the Aculon Empire.

The main character of his own perspective, which can be found here.

  • Back from the Dead: Was killed in Elanuelo's purge on Day 8, but since Elanuelo found out about his disagreements with him through out-of-game means, he was revived.
  • Reasonable Authority Figure: Willingly ceded the title of acting emperor to Turkey due to him being busy with disputes and diplomatic issues, and later assisted him with getting refugees out of Aculon due to their discontent with Elanuelo's rule and the likelihood that they'd be killed for expressing that discontent.

    Drew

TooDrew, the Muscle

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/drew_7.png
Turkey: "Drew, the bow."
Drew: *Draws bow and takes aim.*

The leader of the Aculon knights, who served as Turkey and later Elanuelo's lead enforcer.

  • Action Girl: Among the most feared players on the server, and one of the few known female players.
  • The Brute: Serves as Aculon's muscle, intimidating those under their rule to keep them in line.
  • The Dragon: Eventually becomes this to Elanuelo, becoming the closest thing he had to a trusted ally.
  • The Dreaded: No one wants her as an enemy. She was Elanuelo's commander and, by extension, his second in command, making her someone none would want to cross politically. Beyond that, however, she was a spymaster that everyone in Aculon's resistance feared and was known as one of, if not the, strongest warriors in the world. A consistent fact seen in all retellings was that she not only survived the war but survived targeted attacks against her during the Battle of Aculon against multiple players at once, something incredibly difficult to accomplish even for veteran players in Minecraft. As KaNukei put it, she and her knights were a powerful enough force that specific strategies had to be undertaken to keep them away from Elanuelo for the plan to assassinate him to work.
  • Kick the Dog: According to KaNukei's retelling, after PresidentSteve died, he left his diamond armor to his widowed wife iPixel. TooDrew immediately bullied iPixel into handing over the armor under the justification that other officials of Aculon needed the armor more, an action that several more reasonable Aculon officials considered to be the last straw regarding Elanuelo's tyranny.
  • Killer Rabbit: Looks fairly unassuming, even friendly, at first glance, but she has some of the best gear possible on the server and is more than willing to get her hands dirty.
  • One-Man Army: The closest the server could have to one. Even among the knights, who were chosen because of their ability to efficiently overcome other players, she typically got the spotlight as being someone who was more or less unstoppable. It showed in the war, where she could engage several players at once with minimal assistance.
  • The Quiet One: Rarely speaks a word, preferring to let her actions speak for her.
  • Turn the Other Cheek: Spared and pardoned for her actions taken up to and during the war following its end.
  • World's Best Warrior: Considered one of the best PVPers on the server, along with the Sultan's twin guards Davarit and Zombta.

    Boreal

BSHSboreal, the Quartermaster

The manager of the Quartermaster's House.

  • Morally Bankrupt Banker: Downplayed, but he is responsible for exposing Turkey's actions assisting refugees, leading to his public execution.
  • Nice Job Fixing It, Villain: Had he not thrown Turkey under the bus for his comradery with the other islands, there's a chance Elanuelo may not have had Turkey executed, potentially avoiding the Aculon War and the casualties that followed, sure, but it also was directly responsible for unending Elanuelo's dictatorship, setting the path for the better future ahead.
  • Small Role, Big Impact: He's responsible for selling Turkey out to Elanuelo, exposing his assistance of those trying to escape the Aculon Empire.
  • Tempting Fate: Literal minutes after describing the consequences of being caught trying to steal from the Quartermaster's house, Xellious is caught doing just that.
  • Uncertain Doom: Never seen getting killed during the Aculon War, but he's also not seen being pardoned or among the surviving masses, leaving his fate unclear but likely not good considering he had been aligned with the losing side.

    Xellious

Xellious, the Bomber

A man who attempted to break into the Quartermaster's House and was sentenced to death.

  • Character Death: Executed via a falling stalactite by Turkey.
  • Sacrificial Lamb: The first named character to be given any significant attention to die over the course of the event.
  • Small Role, Big Impact: His execution and the celebration that follows serves as Elanuelo's first tip-off of Turkey's growing popularity, beginning his paranoia toward his second in command.
  • Terrorist Without A Cause: Gave no reason for trying to blow up the Quartermaster's House.
  • Walking Spoiler: Its borderline impossible to discuss him without bringing up his death.

    KaNukei

KaNukei, the Aspiring Librarian

Lord of Cohort Charlie, the title and position given to him by his superior, Baron LordBurney, and an aspiring archivist who wants to document the history of his nation, intending to build a library to that end.

The main character of his own perspective, which can be found here.

  • Birds of a Feather: After the war against Aculon ended, he went on to build a new library in a plains faction. There, he was approached by Ram from 2E2G, whom he described as a fellow librarian. The two happily built KaNukei's new library over the same occupation.
  • Defector from Decadence: Early in the event LordBurney offered him a way to escape due to Aculon's leadership treating its citizens less like humans and more like machines building things for them, though that plan was not officialized yet. After the massacre of Turkey and his followers, KaNukei severs all ties with Aculon upon hearing of said massacre, and teams up with Zombta to join the Bastion of Peace.

    Captain Magmar

Captain Magmar, Daimyo of Kinoshima

Lord of Cohort Hotel, the title and position given to him by his superior, Baron LegacyAN, and the leader (or Daimyo) of the Japanese-themed sub-faction Kinoshima.

The main character of his own perspective, which can be found here.

  • Broken Pedestal: He upheld the Aculon Empire and the values it stood for in the highest regard, but after seeing shocking events such as the Knights' arrogance and the death of Turkey and his followers at Elanuelo's command, his high opinion of them was shattered and he even considered leaving Aculon and Kinoshima.
  • Downer Ending: While building defenses in preparation for the Alliance's attack on the Aculon Empire and simultaneously wondering if he was actually in the right with everything happening around him, he accidentally falls to his death with the empire falling shortly afterwards in the subsequent war with the Bastion of Peace. The conclusion of his perspective sees him blaming himself for failing the empire, his cohort, and Turkey, wondering if the universe was telling him that he was never meant to be a hero.
  • A Father to His Men: Resolves to ensure no one else in his faction dies after one of his fellow sub-faction members perishes saving Legacy from an Enderman. The events following that member's death see him building a snowtel together with his team and generally trying to be a good leader, but by the time war came to Aculon, very few remained in his sub-faction... and all of them went into that battle without him, owing to the captain having a bad case of falling while trying to reinforce the castle's defenses.
  • It's All My Fault: The end of his perspective sees him blaming himself for failing the empire he strove to protect, his cohort whom he worked together with, and Turkey whom he admired, as his group and the remaining Aculon citizens all went to war to defend the ultimately doomed empire without him.
Magmar: [at the end] All of them were counting on me, and I let them down.
  • My Country, Right or Wrong: While his faith in the Aculon Empire was shaken by some terrible events culminating in Elanuelo's purge, he joined the war to defend the empire despite its flaws, following the deceased Turkey's advice to follow his heart. While building the defenses, however, he starts to have doubts over his circumstances.
  • Undying Loyalty: At the beginning of his perspective, he praises AFreakinTurkey for being a very competent leader who held Aculon together when Elanuelo was not around. He is thus left distraught when he hears of Turkey's death at Elanuelo's command.

    Dbest (SPOILERS)
The player who kills Elanuelo during the Battle of Aculon.
  • Small Role, Big Impact: Gets no focus for the entire video, but ultimately kills the main antagonist.
  • The Mole: One of several installed in Aculon, and the only one not taken out by a counterintelligence maneuver.
  • Walking Spoiler: His only action in Ish's video is his defeat of Elanuelo in the Battle of Aculon, making it impossible to talk about him without giving away the event's endgame and Elanuelo's demise.

Others

    Ish

Ish, Watchful Bystander

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/ish.png

The host of the simulation. Despite taking a neutral stance to the ever-growing conflict both within and between the kingdoms, he proves himself more than happy to interact with them and commentate on their spats, serving as a Narrator of the unfolding events.

  • Adaptational Jerkass: Painted as an Unreliable Narrator throughout much of EJK's perspective.
  • Ambiguously Human: Whatever he is, he's capable of wiping someone from existence entirely or even outright reviving dead people.
  • Demoted to Extra: Due to not being a participant, his role is severely diminished in other players' perspectives of the event.
  • Implied Death Threat: In EJK's perspective, he makes it clear; if the Emirate attack Theria outside of the Aculon War, he will ensure the Emirate's demise himself.
  • Insistent Terminology: Pointedly refuses to call 2E2G by its name, instead referring to it as a "small neighboring desert nation."
  • Kick the Dog: Played for Laughs; when learning a denizen of the Plains is making an Among Us statue, he "hopes they die".
  • Narrator: Recites and recaps various events that have transpired across the islands over the course of the simulation.
  • Nice Guy: Openly affable to anyone he encounters, regardless of their island of origin or their political associations within the nations.
  • Supporting Protagonist: Witnesses and commentates on any and all actions taken during the event. However, he himself largely leaves the islands alone to make their own decisions, not getting in the way, comfortable in merely being an observer rather than an active participant.

    Jesus

Jesus Christ

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/jesus_4.png

Yes. That one. Shows up in the afterlife preaching the value of the Seth Citadel.

    The Multi-Island Union (SPOILERS)

The Alliance of Democratic Nations / The Bastion of Peace

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/alliance.png

An alliance born between the plains, Theria, the Seth Citadel, and defectors from Aculon to unite against the Aculon Empire. It began when the Seth Citadel and the plains welcomed in Aculon refugees fleeing from Elanuelo, eventually growing into a massive union with enough military power to take on the empire.

  • Adaptation Name Change: They called themselves the Bastion of Peace during the event, with Ish's dramatization renaming them the Alliance of Democratic Nations with the faction leaders' input because he thought it would sound cooler.
  • Gondor Calls for Aid: After Elanuelo enacted his purge, the people who defected from Aculon beseeched the other nations to help them end Elanuelo's tyranny and get justice for Turkey's death.
  • He Who Fights Monsters: After the death of Elanuelo, The Alliance continued to attack the remaining allies of the Aculon Empire despite most of them surrendering in the wake of Elanuelo's defeat, much like how Elanuelo himself purged Turkey and his supporters despite Turkey not wanting to oppose him. This included killing people such as Shrimpatine who had no major role in the events leading up to the war. As Ish himself notes: "It was almost as if they had become their enemy." Fortunately, despite the massacre of surrendered combatants, the Alliance decided to stop the wanton violence and spared those that remained, officially pardoning them at the formation of the United Nations.
