Cai Wenji (蔡文姬), the Heavenly Sounds (天籁弦音)/Little Lute
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/hok_caiwenji_350x441.png
"The grander the heart, the more exciting the stage~~"
Global name: Cai Yan
Faction: Three Kingdoms - Wei
Arena of Valor counterpart: Peura/Payna, Helen

Original Information A famed female poet of the Eastern Han Dynasty. After marrying, Cai Wenji had her home invaded by the Xiongnu tribe and held captive for years, although she was treated well and even married its chieftain and had two children. However, she was eventually freed from captivity when Cao Cao paid a heavy ransom for her safety. She ended up settling in the territory of Wei, but still kept good contact with Cao Cao as she created more poems to describe her turbulent years.

  • Healing Hands: Supports her teammates by healing them.
  • Morality Pet: Serves as this for two heroes: Dian Wei (who used to work for her father until he got taken over by madness and killed them, but decides to use Cai Wenji as a way to cling to his sanity and redeem himself) and Lan (he ends up re-discovering his humanity just by interacting with her, and protects her when Cao Cao is about to kill her for knowing too much).
  • Token Mini-Moe: Exaggerated. Cai Wenji is practically a little girl with a body of a baby girl.

Da Qiao (大乔), the Glory of the Sea (沧海之曜)/Stormy
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/hok_daqiao_350x441.png
"The sky, the sea, and the memory of you."
Faction: Three Kingdoms - Wu
Arena of Valor counterpart: Rouie

Original Information: The elder half of the Two Qiaos, a sister pair of great beauties in the Three Kingdoms era, making Xiao Qiao her little sister. Da Qiao was betrothed with the Little Conqueror Sun Ce and they remain a harmonious couple up until Sun Ce's abrupt demise. Da Qiao retreated to the backstage and kept advising Sun Ce's successor and little brother Sun Quan behind the scenes. It was said that one of the reasons the Battle of Red Cliffs happened was because her brother in law, Zhou Yu, heard news that Cao Cao was also lusting after her and perceived it as a great insult that the warlord dared to lust after the wife of his departed best friend, in addition of his own wife.

  • Arranged Marriage: In her lore, Da Qiao was betrothed to someone so mysterious that she thought this guy would probably be hideous and cruel. She tried to run off, only to be cornered at a cliff, at which point it turned out that this guy was actually the dashing and kind Sun Ce. The arranged marriage went from 'going to be horrible' into 'so perfectly fitting'.
  • Gondor Calls for Aid: Her ultimate is basically 'Da Qiao Calls For Aid'. After putting a circle to an area (that also initially damages the enemy), allies everywhere get the option to answer her call. If they do, they're immediately teleported to said circle, acting as The Cavalry to save the day.
  • Making a Splash: Uses water magic.
  • Non-Indicative Name: 'Stormy' is named after the term 'storm' which is a wild, destructive state of weather. Da Qiao is not very destructive at all, she is primarily support and generally also more reserved than her sister Xiao Qiao... who's actually Breezy, named after the calmer type of wind/weather (breeze), and has a more damaging skillset best for more destruction.
  • Official Couple: Just like in history, with Sun Ce. They even have a pair of wedding skins for it!
  • Support Party Member: If there's a hero that embodies Team Spirit the best, Da Qiao is your lady. She has middling offense, defense, crowd control, and she's not exactly the most devoted healer, but she has tremendous utility, being able to send off wounded allies to the home fountain quicker than a normal recall, and calling them (and more) back just as quick with her ultimate, as well as getting her friends together in one spot.

Donghuang Taiyi (东皇太一), the Eclipse (噬灭日蚀)
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/hok_donghuangtaiyi_350x441.png
"The eclipse is near... and so is my miracle!"
Faction: Riverlands
Arena of Valor counterpart: Arum

Original Information: An elusive figure of the Chinese mythology, with many names including 'King Father of the East' or 'Emperor Donghuang' or 'Dongwanggong'. Known as the representation of the Yang of the Yin-Yang concept, he is known as the mate of the Queen Mother of the West, Xi Wangmu. Legends about his deeds can vary, but in other versions of the Chinese Creation Myth, he and Xi Wangmu were the ones who created the world instead of Pan Gu.

In-game Bio: Formerly an ordinary, if cold-hearted and cruel, human who witnessed Nu Wa's appearance in the Celestia plains. At first fascinated with the God, he later discovered that even Gods yearn for immortality, they're not immortals in the first place, and they sought the Spell of Reincarnation for it. Donghuang Taiyi then came to a conclusion and obsession that humans can be elevated to be as Gods. He mastered the spell and casted it on himself during an eclipse, ascending him into Godhood with the bonus of immortality. However, he grows worried that his immortality would be temporary, but he managed to find a way to keep the immortality: Using a dark ritual that would draw the power of nature, devouring the essences of the sunlight, river, clouds, forests, heaven and earth. He succeeds in creating the miracle of continuous immortality and gains a lot of followers for it. For that, Donghuang Taiyi orders his followers to spread his word and faith within the Riverlands... no matter the cost. There is no way he wants to return to his old, ordinary, mortal life...

  • Adaptational Villainy: There are varying accounts of Dongwanggong, but most of it portrays him as a neutral being. Donghuang Taiyi over here is a ruthless, malicious guy who is The Unfettered in what he does. He's usually known as the Arc Villain of the story arc in his area.
  • Dark Is Evil: He summons shadowy and dark spirits around him, and he's one of the more villainous heroes in the game.
  • Deity of Human Origin: He was once just a normal human, but eventually gains the secret of godhood and manages to make it stick with his Spell of Reincarnation.
  • Snake People: The lower half of his body is made of a snake lower body and tail. He doesn't slither on the ground.
  • Stone Wall: Generally built to emphasize his massive HP and regeneration. Donghuang Taiyi isn't exactly disruptive, damaging or fast, but he will still stand and move unflinchingly to his target while being surrounded by spirits that heal him. And that's until he decides to grab the nearest hero and keep them there for a considerable time so they become vulnerable against his allies' attack (and while he also gets damaged if his target is attacked, he usually has enough HP to tank them).
  • The Unfettered: Nothing will stop Donghuang Taiyi from keeping his immortality, keep learning new knowledge and ensuring that his miracles will still continue. Even if he has to brainwash others for it.
  • Total Eclipse of the Plot: The moment of the eclipse marks Donghuang Taiyi's first success in executing the Spell of Reincarnation, granting him immortality.

Dun Shan (盾山), the Infinite Shield (无尽之盾)

Liu Shan (刘禅), the Reckless Gear (暴走机关)/Mischief
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/hok_liushan_350x441.png
暴走机关 (The Reckless Gear)
Faction: Three Kingdoms - Shu
Arena of Valor counterpart: Omega (pre-rework)

Original Information: The son of Liu Bei, and second and last emperor of Shu. Liu Shan had extremely big shoes to fill with his father's departure, and yet he was not as competent or tenacious as his father. He ended up surrendering his kingdom to Wei/Jin and acted like he didn't care for the kingdom, but it granted him life and later peaceful death instead of being executed. Romance of the Three Kingdoms made up the reasoning behind his incompetence being that after he was saved as an infant in Changban by Zhao Yun, Liu Bei threw him to the ground for endangering the life of his treasured great general, giving Liu Shan brain damage, and he later became too close with eunuchs (most infamously Huang Hao) that influenced his decision-making. Despite future historians trying to give an alternative interpretation that he just wanted to put an end to the futile, impossible war that endangered his people, his nickname 'A Dou' has become synonymous with the term 'idiot'.

Master Lu Ban (鲁班大师), the Craftsman (神匠)

Ming Shiyin (明世隐), the Soul Stealer (灵魂劫卜)/Peony Diviner

"Flowers bloom like prosperous times, nurtured by the hearts of mankind."
Faction: Chang'an
Arena of Valor counterpart: Himself

Original Information: Ming Shiyin is an original character to Honor of Kings

In-game Bio: The legend of the Peony Diviner started at the reign of Emperor Taizong; an oracle scheduled for execution for telling Taizong's second son a divination that the prince didn't accept. The favor turned for the oracle as the prince was exiled, and the oracle became known as the Peony Diviner, based on how he left behind a peony in his death.

In the present day, after Wu Zetian took charge of Chang'an, she enlisted an advisor: Someone who had a similar power with the legendary Peony Diviner, Ming Shiyin. He's a courteous and talented advisor, able to create correct predictions and divinations. However, one of the biggest divinations he released is that the Great Wall will clash with Chang'an. For the defense of Chang'an, Wu Zetian heeds Ming Shiyin's advice and bolsters up her forces to take the Great Wall. However, judge Di Renjie suspects that there's something off with Ming Shiyin... Is he really doing it for the sake of Chang'an or does he have personal ulterior motives behind staging the attack?

Niu Mo (牛魔), the Elite Chief (精英酋长)
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/hok_niumo_350x441.png
"Very good, you've successfully captured my interest."
Faction: ????
Arena of Valor counterpart: Lumburr

Original Information: The Bull Demon King and one of Sun Wukong's most famous adversaries. Niu Mo was formerly one of the demon kings that was friends and loyal to Wukong before his rampage in Heaven. After his sealing, he married the Princess Iron Fan and had a son being the Red Boy, but became estranged and antagonistic when Wukong went on a pilgrimage with Xuanzang, barring his path in the Flaming Mountain and growing several antagonisms towards the Heaven itself. After Wukong tricked his wife to surrender the fan that could blow away the Flaming Mountain, Niu Mo took the matters at hand and fought Wukong after impersonating Zhu Bajie. In the end, however, Nezha interrupted the battle to subdue him and bring him to the Jade Emperor where he would receive his punishment.

Sang Qi (桑启), the Firefly Journey (萤火之旅)
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/hok_sangqi_350x441.png
"The most wonderful journeys often start in the most inconspicuous places."
Faction: ????
Arena of Valor counterpart: N/A

Original Information: Sang Qi is an original character to Honor of Kings

  • Healing Hands: Sang Qi's basic attacks and abilities grant a healing effect if they hit a teammate.

Sun Bin (孙膑), Reversal of the Current of Time (逆流之时)/Timebender
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/hok_sunbin_350x441.png
"I want to go back to the past, and I also want to take a look at the future."
Faction: Jixia Academy
Arena of Valor counterpart: Alice

  • Dude Looks Like a Lady: Yes, that's a boy. Even Sun Bin himself lampshades his rather feminine appearance which can confuse others.
  • Ridiculously Human Robot: There are robotic echoes within his voice, implying a robot nature within him, with his futuristic design supporting it. However, he looks more convincingly human than, say, Luban no. 7.
  • Time Master: Sun Bin can both speed up and slow down time.

Taiyi Zhenren (太乙真人), the Alchemist (炼金大师)

Zhang Fei (张飞), the Forbidden Beast (禁血狂兽)/Beast
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/hok_zhangfei_350x441.png
"Some sins cannot be washed away, some things must be done."
Faction: Three Kingdoms - Shu
Arena of Valor counterpart: Cresht

Original Information: The last of the three brothers that laid the foundation of the Shu Kingdom. Zhang Fei was a local butcher, and his sense of justice caused him to reprimand Liu Bei who was sighing at the call to arms against the Yellow Turban Rebellion. This instead inspired Liu Bei to have a talk with him and they found out they have several things in common. Guan Yu soon joined the conversation and they suggested making an oath of brotherhood in Zhang Fei's own peach garden; despite being born on different days, they all hope to die together on the same day, sticking together until the time comes, and thus Zhang Fei fought alongside Liu Bei in many battles beyond the Yellow Turbans and the tyrant Dong Zhuo. With his Viper Spear at hand, Zhang Fei is a boisterous battle master with notable accomplishments such as scaring off the army of Cao Cao at Changban with a scream or tricking his enemies who thought he was no more than a musclebound brute. He met his end when his flaw, a tendency to dispose of violence when angry, caught up to him when two of his men assassinated him over his mistreatment of them, which peaked after Guan Yu's death.

  • Boisterous Bruiser: Actually downplayed in this incarnation, where Zhang Fei is much more introspective and quieter about the horrors of war and less loud than usual. Not to mention, he's mainly a support rather than a pure brawler (albeit a tanky one that goes into violent brawl when charged up). There's just about one line where he gives out a laughter.
  • Hulking Out: When his rage meter is filled, Zhang Fei can activate his ultimate where he turns into a hulking, ferocious beast.
  • Red Is Violent: His color scheme is mainly red, and while he's quieter than usual, Zhang Fei's combat style is defined with the violent red beast he held within.
