A Ke (阿轲), the Blade of Faith (信念之刃)
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/hok_ake_350x441.png
Faction: Ex-Qin
Arena of Valor counterpart: Butterfly (pre-rework), Quillen (current)

Original Information: A Ke is a semi-original character to Honor of Kings. Her previous identity is Jing Ke, the male assassin and retainer of Crown Prince Dan of the Yan state that almost succeeded in assassinating Ying Zheng/Qin Shi Huang and could have changed history, but his failure cost him his life. In the game, he was then given a Gender Flip. Due to complaints from many Chinese people, she was reworked into an original character named A Ke.

Baili Xuance (百里玄策), the Scythe of Madness (嚣狂之镰)
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/hok_bailixuance_350x441.png
Faction: Great Wall
Arena of Valor counterpart: Enzo

Original Information: Baili Xuance is an original character to Honor of Kings

    Butterfly, Death's Whisper
Faction: Navenia (Mercenary Guild)
Arena of Valor counterpart: Herself

Dongfang Jing (东方镜), the Mirror Blade (破镜之刃)
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/hok_dongfangjing_350x441.png
"The first and last enemy, are both oneself."
Faction: Qin
Arena of Valor counterpart: N/A

Original Information: Dongfang Jing is an original character to Honor of Kings

  • Aloof Big Brother: Gender Inverted. Is this to Dongfang Yao.
  • Decomposite Character: The Dongfang siblings (Yao and Jing) are partially inspired by Dongfang Bubai, a swordmaster who's also a transgender symbol. The decision is to split Bubai into the two characters with wholly clear genders, with Jing being the female part.
  • Meaningful Name: A fairly obvious one. Her first name "Jing" translates to "Mirror". Her abilities involve mirror images of herself.

Fei (暃), the Prince of Jade City (玉城之子)
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/hok_fei_350x441.png
Faction: Jade City (near the Great Wall)
Arena of Valor counterpart: N/A

Original Information: Fei is an original character to Honor of Kings

Han Xin (韩信), the Unparalleled Nationalist (国士无双)
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/hok_hanxin_350x441.png
Faction: Han
Arena of Valor counterpart: Nakroth

Lan (澜), the Shark's Blade (鲨之猎刃)
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/hok_lan_350x441.png
Global name: Lam
Faction: Three Kingdoms - Wu (formerly Wei)
Arena of Valor counterpart: N/A

Original Information: Lan is an original character to Honor of Kings

  • Barely-Changed Dub Name: From Lan to Lam. Just one consonant change and Tencent called it a day.
  • Code Name: Lan/Lam is just a code name given by the Kingdom of Wei. His true name remains a mystery.
  • Color Motif: In his default costume, dark blue.
  • Heel–Face Turn: He's originally a cold-blooded assassin of Wei. After meeting and being humanized by Cai Wenji, he betrays Cao Cao and flees together with Cai Wenji, only to be picked up by Sun Ce and joins the Wu banner.
  • Injured Vulnerability: Lan's shark form gives him little benefits usually... unless he detects a nearby enemy hero whose HP is below 30%. At which point he gains incredible speed boost to chase and kill off his prey.
  • Threatening Shark: He gives this image and he can turn into a Great White shark made out of water (and can lay submerged indefinitely as long as he's within the river of the map). Seeing Lan in an enemy team probably is a sign you should expect scenarios that you are fighting atop of a water, and then there's a shark fin swimming by... which means Lan is going to leap and wreck you from the jungle he's usually stationed at.note

Lanling Wang (兰陵王), the Shadow Blade (暗影刀锋)
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/hok_lanlingwang_350x441.png
Global name: Prince of Lanling
Faction: Golden City
Arena of Valor counterpart: Batman -> Kaine

Original Information: His real name is Gao Changgong, but he's mostly known as his title being 'Prince/King of Lan Ling', thus 'Lanling Wang'. An extremely competent battle general during the Qi Dynasty also blessed with an extremely beautiful face for a man, Lanling Wang entered the battle with a fearsome mask, usually to make sure the enemy takes him more seriously. He's debatably the only thing that held the Qi Dynasty together as its Emperor was not exactly a competent man, defending his land honorably for nothing more than the safety of his homeland, with accomplishments including the repelling of the Turkic Khaganate with only 500 men. Unfortunately, the emperor, who's also his cousin, grew suspicious when Lanling Wang said he's responsible for his family affairs, while their family had a history of betrayals. Fearing betrayal, the Emperor secretly poisoned Lanling Wang, and with the only competent defense of the Qi Dynasty gone, nothing stopped the Northern Zhou Dynasty from utterly toppling the Qi Dynasty.

  • Cool Mask: He wears a mouth-covering mask to conceal his pretty face further.
  • The Sneaky Guy: He's more or less a Ninja in Chinanote  that doesn't use its stock weaponry. He's got an on-demand invisibility skill to make him invisible to others and prepares him for one mighty strike. However, whoever he approaches will have a notification right on their heads that Lanling Wang is nearby, and him staying too long in that spot will blow his cover and negate his invisibility.
  • Walking Shirtless Scene: Downplayed that the only part of his outfit that's bare is just his left shoulder to his left stomach. But what nice muscles he displayed!
  • World's Most Beautiful Woman: Gender inverted. Is one of the Four Most Handsome Men of Ancient China. In touch with how in history seeing his face landed him ridicules, Lanling Wang takes this to another level: He doesn't just cover up his face with a ninja mask; he turns invisible at will too so his target doesn't get to see his whole beautiful body too often unless they're about to die.

Li Bai (李白), the Blade God of Qinglian (青莲剑仙)/Poetic Blade
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/hok_libai_350x441.png
Faction: Chang'an
Arena of Valor counterpart: Murad

Mai Shiranui (不知火舞), the Bright Flame (明媚烈焰)
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/hok_mai_350x441.png
"Hey, there! Don't give up!"
Faction: Kyokutou/Japan
Arena of Valor counterpart: Raz

Original Information: Mai Shiranui is a Guest Fighter from Fatal Fury. See this page for her original details.

  • Adaptational Modesty, Tamer and Chaster: Mai actually covers more of her skin compared to her home series. She still manages to be a Ms. Fanservice anyway.
  • Anachronism Stew: Mai is the only character that hails from a modern day world, her fellow guests are from feudal Japan (and revolution-era France), and she's thrown in a place that looks like Imperial China.
  • Combat Hand Fan: Throws one at enemy heroes, dealing magical damage.
  • Single-Target Sexuality: It doesn't matter if Andy Bogard is not in this world. Mai will still refer to him with utter love (on both selection or being killed, the usual).

Nakoruru (娜可露露), the Guardian of the Eagle (鹰之守护)
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/hok_nakoruru_350x441.png
"This is nature's punishment!"
Faction: Kyokutou/Japan
Arena of Valor counterpart: Kriknak
Original Information: Nakoruru is a Guest Fighter from Samurai Shodown. See this page for her original details.

Pei Qinhu (裴擒虎), the Tiger Fist of Lihue (六合虎拳)
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/hok_peiqinhu_350x441.png
Faction: Chang'an
Global name: Tigerous
Arena of Valor counterpart: N/A

Original Information: Pei Qinhu is an original character to Honor of Kings

Sima Yi (司马懿), the Silent Heart (寂灭之心)
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/hok_simayi_350x441.png
Faction: Three Kingdoms - Wei
Arena of Valor counterpart: Paine

Original Information: Brilliant strategist of Wei during the Three Kingdoms era, a mind that could rival Zhuge Liang of Shu. Sima Yi served Cao Cao and his family for several generations and even witnessed Zhuge Liang's final moments in Wuzhang Plains. By that time, however, the Cao family has decayed into incompetence. This was the chance for Sima Yi to break out on his own. Through manipulations and cunning, he set himself and his family to eventually rule Cao Wei, eventually forming the Jin Dynasty that would ultimately end the Three Kingdoms era.

In-game Bio: Born from a family of anomalics cursed with the power of darkness, one that claimed his father's life. Ever since then, Sima Yi has been trying to research about the origin of knowledge to use his power to break the very same curse. After attending and graduating the Jixia Academy along with his best friend Zhuge Liang, Sima Yi departed to pursue his original goal.

But as fate would have it, the two former friends would clash as rivals: Sima Yi is employed as chief strategist of Wei's Cao Cao, while Zhuge Liang becomes the chief strategist of Shu's Liu Bei. Both clashes at the Battle of Red Cliffs, where Sima Yi reveals his true goals and, as the battle involved Zhuge Liang activating the Eastwind Altar, the altar refreshes Sima Yi's dark powers and he's one step closer to his goal...

  • Adaptational Nice Guy: Unlike in history or novel, Sima Yi is still very loyal to Cao Cao and has no intentions to betray him and set up his own dynasty, even if he has his own personal agenda.
  • Big Damn Heroes: His ultimate allows him to leap from great distances with his shadow and join the battle from far away, usually to infiltrate the enemy backline and eliminate the damage dealers.
  • Casting a Shadow: Sima Yi specializes in dark magic which manifests in literally manipulated and harmful shadows.
  • The Chessmaster: He used the whole Battle of Red Cliffs to make sure Zhuge Liang activates the Eastwind Altar and gives him a boost of the power of his dark curse. The battle might not be in his favor, but he still gets the best deal possible.
  • Dark Is Evil: A dark mage/assassin who's definitely the Evil Counterpart of Zhuge Liang.
  • Dragon with an Agenda: Sima Yi's goal to break his curse has nothing to do with Cao Cao's goal of conquest, but he can certainly multitask well enough.
  • Evil Counterpart: Naturally to Zhuge Liang, as he is a dark and evil strategist of Zhuge Liang's opposed kingdom.
  • Evil Genius: The chief strategist of the antagonistic Wei Kingdom, Sima Yi not only gives sound advice to Cao Cao, he also goes along with other nefarious plans that doesn't necessarily involve Zhuge Liang (including trying to murder Cai Wenji for knowing too much, clashing with Lan as a result)
  • Glass Cannon: Sima Yi can quickly eliminate squishy heroes via burst damage; he'll make sure they stay quiet and he can give putsuit easily. The catch is that he's incredibly fragile; jumping right to the enemy ranks may instead warrant his own swift death if the enemies react quickly to catch him before he starts silencing and wrecking them.
  • The Man Behind the Man: It's not blatantly said in the bios, but Sima Yi is behind Daqiao's Arranged Marriage scheme, which freaks her out until she found out that her mate ends up being Sun Ce. However, it's still within Sima Yi's scheme overall, whereas Sun Ce is listed as his 'victim' and Daqiao being his Unwitting Pawn.
  • We Used to Be Friends: Used to be the best classmate and a Friendly Rival to Zhuge Liang. But as time passed, Sima Yi becomes an adversary of Zhuge Liang.

Sun Wukong (孙悟空), the Monkey King (齐天大圣)
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/hok_sunwukong_350x441.png
Faction: Celestials (Pilgrimage to the West)
Arena of Valor counterpart: Wukong

Original Information: The one and only original Monkey King from Journey to the West. Born from a magical rock, Sun Wukong gathered his tribe of monkeys, learned great powers, and eventually after some misunderstanding and disrespect, utterly wrecked the heavens that it took Buddha to stop his rampage and seal him under a mountain. His chance of redemption was to accompany the monk Xuanzang as his student and escort to retrieve the sutras on the West. Just so Wukong wouldn't rebel too much, Xuanzang was given a golden headband and a mantra to keep him in line. From his master, Wukong learned humility and though still a hotheaded battle-crazy monkey, he matured, and succeeded in his mission, earning a normal spot in Heaven.

Ukyo Tachibana (橘右京), the Dream Dagger of God (神梦一刀)
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/hok_ukyo_350x441.png
"... This is it."
Faction: Kyokutou/Japan
Arena of Valor counterpart: Ryoma

Original Information: Ukyo Tachibana is a Guest Fighter from Samurai Shodown. See this page for his original details.

  • Beware the Nice Ones: Generally, Ukyo is courteous. But having him on a kill streak shows that he's damn serious about this whole 'fight to the death' by his quote here, which is delivered in a more growling tone:
    "Die..."
  • Iaijutsu Practitioner: Implemented with his passive: After charging up for some time, Ukyo can use a more powerful, longer strike with his sheathed katana, much like a fatal iai strike. For the players' convenience, he can still attack while charging.
  • No Historical Figures Were Harmed: He's based on Miyamoto Musashi's rival Sasaki Kojiro. Since Kojiro is not going to be in the game, Ukyo will have to do as a stand-in.
  • The Stoic: Ukyo is generally silent and speaks with low volumes. Therefore, unless he's calling out his skill names or dying, expect his lines to be short and mostly drowned by the game's music volume-wise.

Yuan Ge (元歌), the Infernal Puppet (无间傀儡)
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/hok_yuange_1_350x441.png
Click for his puppet
Faction: Three Kingdoms - Shu
Arena of Valor counterpart: N/A

Original Information: Yuan Ge is a semi-original character to Honor of Kings. During the beta stage of the game, his identity was Pang Tong, a short-lived brilliant strategist of Shu during the Three Kingdoms period and classmate of Zhuge Liang, nicknamed 'the Fledging Phoenix'. He helped devise the strategy to chain the naval ships of Cao Cao, contributing to the victory of Shu and Wu in the Battle of Red Cliff/Chi Bi. However, he's killed mid-battle during Liu Bei's campaign to claim the lands of Shu. Like A Ke, complaints from many Chinese people made Tencent re-invent his model and look into Yuan Ge.

  • Ditto Fighter: Not on him, but Yuan Ge can order his puppet to impersonate a hero for a period of time. Makes for a good surprise attack when an unsuspecting enemy hero fails to realize that their ally is being impersonated...
  • Elective Mute: Is one due to his traumatic childhood. He has his puppet talk for him.
  • Historical Beauty Update: And most likely why he got reinvented into his current self. One of the traits of Pang Tong was that he was so ugly the Wu kingdom refused his services for that, which was why he's in the Shu Kingdom. Yuan Ge himself could qualify as some sort of Dude Looks Like a Lady: He's a very pretty man, there's a stark difference.
  • Puppet Fighter: The player can alternately control Yuan Ge and his puppet.

Yun Zhongjun (云中君), the Wings of the Cloud (流云之翼)/Blind Wing
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/hok_yunzhongjun_350x441.png
Faction: Riverlands
Arena of Valor counterpart: N/A

Original Information: Yun Zhongjun is an original character to Honor of Kings

  • Amnesiac Lover: While Yao retained memories of their past life, Yun Zhongjun forgot everything prior to becoming a human.
  • Official Couple: With Yao.
  • Reincarnation Romance: After dying together in a past life, Yun Zhongjun and Yao reunite and fall in love again.
  • Winged Humanoid: He's half-bird. And those wings isn't just for show, he can fly over an obstacle with ease for it.
