     Amanda Tibbett
  • A Glass of Chianti: Amanda likes to have one once in a while. Interestingly, she won't eat or drink anything else other than wine. On one occasion, she even resorted to extortion of a waitress in order to get her wine.
  • Agony Beam: Her PK Pain technique is this.
  • Anti-Hero: She's one of the Chosen Ones, but has a very malicious personality. She even lampshades this during the encounter with the Starman on Mt. Itoi:
Starman: Your favourite thing is pain. Why should we trust anything you say?
Amanda: Because I am one of the Chosen Ones. Have you ever heard of an anti-hero before? Deal with it, it exists.
  • Black Magician Girl: Young and spunky? Check. Capable of evil, destructive magic? Check. In a bitter rivalry with White Magician Girl Aqua? Also check.
  • Burn the Witch!: Amanda lampshades this during the battle with Luvin on Dalooni's moon: "Time for this witch to burn!" And then she proceeds to use PK Fire on herself.
  • Combat Sadomasochist: She loves using her PK Pain technique on enemies, but laughs delightfully in the face of pain herself. Appropriate, since PK Pain does more damage when she's taken more damage herself.
    • To boot, she's a sadomasochist outside of battle as well.
    • In one instance, she used PK Fire on herself for the sole purpose of making PK Pain do more damage.
  • "Darkness von Gothick" Name: Sinistrina von Schwarzwald, her spider companion. Schwarzwald is the German name for the Black Forest, which Sinistrina claims to be the princess of.
  • Excessive Evil Eyeshadow
  • Lean and Mean: She's gaunt and anorexic, so of course she's going to have a malicious nature.
  • Ominous Pipe Organ: Amanda's musical instrument.
  • Tsundere: Amanda is a Type A, with the tsun tsun side being dominant. The first time she flips to dere dere mode is when Diego accidentally kisses her, and all her sardonic and malevolent tendencies disappear. It also showed a little during Paula's visualization exercise in Podunk Park, when whatever memory she had caused her to cry.
    • According to her backstory, she used to be a Type B, being mostly dere dere except when around her meaner schoolmates.

     Aqua Way
  • Bespectacled Cutie: She wears glasses, and maintains a cute appearance.
  • Cute Bruiser: She may be little and young, but boy is she tough.
  • Cute Witch: Though she doesn't look like a witch at first.
  • Green Thumb: She loves gardening; Garden is even the name of her signature PSI technique.
  • Kindhearted Cat Lover: Aqua and her Aunt Morgan. The latter almost borders on Crazy Cat Lady, except she actually succeeds at keeping her place tidy.
  • Meaningful Name: The name "Aqua" is appropriate, as much of her PSI is water-based. But her name as a whole almost borders on Punny Name since it sounds kind of like the name of a galaxy.
  • The Medic: She has a lot of healing PSI, except Lifeup for some odd reason. Her PK Garden restores both HP and PP and gets rid of status problems, a master healing technique. She's quite good with herbs as well.
  • Tsundere: Like Amanda, Aqua could be one as well, being caring (dere dere) at times, and being stoic and tough (tsun tsun) at others. She seems to be a Type A as well, though she flips more often than Amanda does.
  • White Magician Girl: She's gentle and caring (except in battle, anyway), and uses primarily healing and support-based PSI. Appropriately, she's in a bitter rivalry with Black Magician Girl Amanda, though the two only show it when they're alone together.

     Bowie SNES
  • Meaningful Name: The SNES was the console Earthbound came out on.
  • The Sixth Ranger: Subverted in that he started off with the other Chosen Ones, but then he got separated from them and wandered off on his own, not to join back up with them until much later on.

     Erukia Blanc
  • Blow You Away: She knows PK Wind.
  • Nonindicative Name: Her last name is Blanc, meaning "white". But her personality is more "black" in general, especially given her manipulative personality, style of dress, and the fact that she knows PK Hex.
    • Although, it does become meaningful at first glance, since her hair is white.
  • Stripperiffic: Not all baristas dress in a sexy high-class way, after all.
  • Sweet Tooth: Erukia has one. Boy does she ever.

     Diego Vendrix
  • Brought Down to Badass: Purposefully attempted to remove his PSI capabilities since it may risk Dexter coming out.
  • Crush Blush: Diego is prone to this. Especially around Amanda, of all people, and maybe a couple of times to Gale as well.
  • Dork Knight: He can come across as awkward at times (and he actually is awkward in battle compared to the others, using gadgets instead of PSI), but he's a genuinely Nice Guy.
  • Gadgeteer Genius: Diego spends much of the RPG inventing clockpunk gadgets, each more innovative than the last. He's even been known to combine many of his gadgets into one.
  • Genius Bruiser: He's really good with clockwork gadgets (and is also The Smart Guy among the Chosen Ones), but also has pretty good physical strength, standing up well to enemies in melee combat.
  • Jekyll & Hyde: Diego and his dark side, Dexter.
  • Superpowered Evil Side / Superpowered Alter Id: Dexter/DX, to Diego. Having been locked away along with Diego's PSI potential, he can wield it, being able to use what was a watered-down version of Giygas move. He represents Diego's repressed negative desires, thoughts and emotions.
  • The Power of Love: Diego's favorite thing and possibly showing his would-be signature move (PK Love)

     Hiroshi "Gon" Tsukimaru
  • Asian and Nerdy: He's a Japanese computer nerd. Well, "Sunriseian", actually. The same goes for his little sister Ari as well.
  • Genki Girl: Aki, Gon's dragonfly companion, is a rare male example.
  • Pajama-Clad Hero: He wears pajama bottoms all the time.
  • The Pollyanna: He's had to move from his hometown in Sunrise, his sister's been kidnapped, the world is overrun with evil... but he still retains an upbeat and carefree nature.
    • Appropriately, the song he plays in Ferdinand Castle's music room to combat the Death Notes is called "Pollyanna".

     Kat Lenona
  • Badass Bookworm: Kat. Her favourite thing is books and she likes to read, but her special skills revolve around her physical strength. AND she can freeze and hex things with PSI.
  • Hello, Sailor!: Kat could count as one, given her flirtatious tendencies and the fact that she's, well, a sailor.
  • Nonindicative Name: Lemme guess, her animal companion is a cat, right? Wait what, it's a deer!? Well that was misleading... but then again, three other characters already have cat companions.

     Kyornik Arrluk
  • Braids of Barbarism: He wears his long hair in braids, and also happens to be quite aggressive and hard-hitting in battle.
  • In Harm's Way: Kyornik often ends up as this. He's always the one who takes the most damage in any given battle, but he will boldly persist with powerful PSI attacks and direct combat regardless, which often results in him getting hurt even more.
  • Nature Hero: His favourite thing is nature. He loves it so much that he'll brave cold weather with ease and happily go swimming with his buddy Blake.

     Leonardo "Leo" Silverstone

     Rocky Rolland, a.k.a. "Rockin' Rocker"

     Santana Hillridge-Munchkin
  • Cute Bruiser: Like Aqua, you do not want to mess with her, even if you think she'd be a piece of cake given her size.
  • Expy: Santana's entire appearance parodied Satoko, save the long hair. But the second time sign-ups opened, she got a complete wardobe change.
  • Magic Idol Singer: Santana imitates one when she uses Miracle Voice.
  • Robot Buddy: MicBot 19.89, Santana's robot pet.

     Seishin-tekina "Tekina" Dengen
  • Empty Shell: Tekina acts as one while trapped within the spirit of Densetsu during the Dalaam arc.
  • Harp of Femininity: Tekina's musical instrument.
  • Lady of War: Once she swaps her whip for a sword, watch out. But she remains as calm and elegant as before.
  • Infinity +1 Sword: Densetsu, her ultimate weapon. And it literally is a sword.
  • Yamato Nadeshiko: Tekina qualifies, which is quite surprising considering she's only 16. She definitely fits the "elegant oriental lady" part though.

     Siobhan "Gale" Montoya
