    Symphogear Adaptors

    SONG

The Four Horsemen

    In General
The newest antagonistic force that the Symphogears and SONG face. Having witnessed the damage that could be done by the powers of the Custodians, the Four Horsemen plan to erase all traces the Custodians have left on the world, including the Synphogears.
  • Clone Army: Their primary fighting force, the Staples, are clones of several battlions worth of United Nations peacekeeping forces.
  • Contrasting Sequel Antagonist: The Four Horsemen buck every trend that prior Symphogear antagonists used.
    • First off, they're the first group to not use Noise-variants as Mooks.
    • Previous groups used relics, Alchemy, and other forms of Magitek to take on the gears, while the Horsemen rely on pure technology.
    • Perhaps the most personal difference is that while prior foes of the Adaptors only tried to kill them as a means to an end, killing the Symphogears is an end in and of itself for the Four Horsemen.
  • Empty Shell: The Staples, due to being nerve stapled, lack certain amounts of higher thought. It's been confirmed they would have eventually starved to death after the Horsemen were defeated due to having no higher thoughts for survival.
  • Knight of Cerebus: The Four Horsemen are significantly more serious and vicious opponents than the previous antagonists the gears faced. Besides being an all human force, many have personal reasons to oppose the gears, and unlike Fine, FIS, the Alchemical Cult, the Illuminati, and Shem-Ha, killing the gears is explicitly one of their end goals.
  • Muggle Power: The Horsemen do not want anything to do with the Custodians, and want all traces of their influence removed from the world.
  • Muggles Do It Better: Despite relying on entirely technological powers to take on the gears, the Four Horsemen have significantly more success taking on the Gears than anyone other than the Alchemical Cult, in part because the Horsemen are willing to unmasque the Gears before the whole world.
  • Viler New Villain: While previous foes of the Adaptors and SONG could be dangerous foes, all of them had sympathetic or funny moments. The Four Horsemen, by contrast, are treated almost entirely seriously and at least a few of them are genuinely malevolent for fun. Among other details:
    • The Staples are a human Clone Army who have no sense of self preservation and will outright kill themselves trying to attack the Adaptors.
    • The Quirky Miniboss Squad, the White Noise, are described more like a Carnival of Killers than their counterparts from the anime, who tended to be Tragic Villains.

White Noise Unit

    In general
The Quirky Miniboss Squad of the Four Horsemen.
  • Co-Dragons: While Samantha seems to be first among equals, all of them are the direct subordinates of the Four Horsemen's leader, the Lamb.
  • Contrasting Sequel Antagonist: While previous Quirky Miniboss Squads were supernatural in some way, the White Noise are all normal humans who rely on advanced technology to challenge the Symphogears. Additionally, the White Noise are not Tragic Villains, with some members genuinely being bloodthirsty or violently insane.
  • Gender-Equal Ensemble: The group has six members, half are women, the other men.
