    Characters introduced in Body Blows

Danny - U.S.A.

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/2583425_bb_galactic_danny_big.png
"Dan (Boston USA) has learnt to control rage to produce bolts of pure aggression."

Nik - U.S.A.

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/body_blows_nik_2579656_body_blows_nik.png
"Nik (Boston USA) spent many years perfecting the use of inner energies just like his brother Dan."

Junior - U.K.

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/body_blows_junior_2583428_bb_galactic_junior_big.png
"Banned from legal boxing, he intends to show the world just who is the champion!"

  • Boxing Battler: The lone boxer of the series.
  • Knight in Sour Armor: Despite being banned from boxing after committing an illegal move, he continues fighting in order to find a new avenue of competition.
  • Rapid-Fire Fisticuffs: One of his most prominent moves from his move set.
  • Token Minority: The only black guy in the series. However, he also has the distinction of being one of only two characters that are in all three games.
  • Tuckerization: He is named after Team17's programmer Cedric "Junior" McMillian, Jr.
  • Virtuous Character Copy: In comparison to Balrog from the Street Fighter series, another disgraced dark-skinned boxer in a fighting game. Not just only does Junior lack his trait of Greed, but he is also someone who seeks constructive outlets to his dilemma (finding a new boxing/fighting circuit that will accept him) rather than joining the likes of Shadaloo as Balrog did.
  • Walking Shirtless Scene: In the first game. He wore a shirt in the sequels.

Lo Ray - China

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/2579652_body_blows_loray.png
"He shows the way through Buddhism, with his techniques of an ancient Shaolin monk."

  • Facial Markings: He has six dots on his forehead just as many real-life Buddhist monks do. Though they are not visible in the picture used for this profile entry, they are in portrait images such as this one here.
  • Nun Too Holy: A Buddhist Monk equivalent. While he doesn't do more overtly obvious things (i.e. casual drug and/or alcohol use, gambling, philandry), but his goal of competing in the tournament to achieve worldly gains of fame and fortune runs counter to the vows of chastity that he is sworn to uphold.
  • Playing with Fire: He can shoot some fire attacks during combat, much like Liu Kang.
  • Warrior Monk: A Shaolin Buddhist monk to be more exact.

Kossak - Russia

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/body_blows_kossak_2579651_body_blows_kossak.png
"This electric Russian wouldn't win any sprint races.. But with his strength, who cares!"

  • Braids of Action: A male example.
  • Boisterous Bruiser: Particularly expressed when he lets out a triumphant laugh in his victory animation.
  • Dig Attack: Spins himself around to drill into the ground to evade and for some offense maneuvers.
  • Expy: He's basically Street Fighter's Zangief if he was a kickboxer rather than a wrestler.
  • Husky Russkie: This Russian kickboxer is certainly one tall, strong, muscular guy you wouldn't want to get on the bad side of.
  • Manly Facial Hair: One of the most masculine characters in the series and sports an impressive Fu Manchu style mustache and goatee.
  • Mighty Glacier: While he's not fast (though he does make up for this with his aforementioned drill move) but is a strong hitter.
  • Walking Shirtless Scene: As is common with most kickboxing characters.

Dug - U.S.A.

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/2579643_body_blows_dug.png
"For what he may lack in brains, he more than makes up for in brawn!"

Maria - Spain

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/body_blows_maria_2579653_body_blows_maria.png
"Do not be swayed by her fragile appearance, this madonna packs a real mean punch."

  • Dance Battler: To an extent. Her fighting style incorporates some acrobatic and gymnastic moves.
  • Form-Fitting Wardrobe: Maria wears a shirt that is ridiculously tight fitting.
  • Fragile Speedster: Very quick but can't take as much punishment as other characters.
  • Ms. Fanservice: Her bio entry at the startup of the game even describes her as beautiful. For the sake of elaboration, she wears an skintight outfit that accentuates her figure that leaves an opening for her midriff. More notable is her idle animation which features bouncing, though more subtle in comparison with likes of Mai Shiranui but is apparent as can be seen near the start of this video (at 0:15) here.

Mike - U.S.A.

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/body_blows_mike_2579655_body_blows_mike.png
"Far from being just full of wind, this executive really means business!"

  • Apologetic Attacker: Mike frequently says "Sorry about that" after a successful hit. Though it is subverted in that it is done as a snarky quip based on his tone of voice.
  • Blow You Away: Has various wind-based attacks.
  • Cool Shades: Though whether he qualifies as cool himself your mileage may vary.
  • Deadpan Snarker: Gives sarcastic apologies and other quips.
  • Fighting Clown: You can't exactly expect someone who spins around like Taz the Tasmanian Devil to be taken seriously.
  • Spin Attack: via creating a whirlwind around himself by spinning around.

Ninja - Japan

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/body_blows_ninja_2579657_body_blows_ninja.png
"With a samurai sword and an endless desire for victory... Has the ability to render himself invisible!"

Yit-U - China

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/body_blows_yitu_2579659_body_blows_yitu.png
"Training gave him discipline, the gods gave him speed."

Max/T-17 - N/A

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/2579654_body_blows_max.png
Click here to see T- 17

"Evil lord of the criminal underworld, he holds a terrifying secret!"

  • Expy: Of the T-800 from the Terminator films. Notably it is even named similarly to it though with a 17 (in reference Team17 itself) at the end instead.
  • Promoted to Playable: Max is made playable in Ultimate, but T-17 remained unplayable.
  • Real Men Wear Pink: Its Max form wears pink pants and shirt. Though this choice of attire is more likely that this robot has little concern for fashion.
  • Robotic Reveal: Upon defeating Max in round one he is revealed to actually be a robot.
  • Shock and Awe: Uses electrokinetic abilities in both forms but uses them more frequently in its T-17 form.
  • SNK Boss: While Max isn't any more challenging than any of the other fighters, but his true form, T-17, that is revealed after defeating him in the first round has some advantages that other characters don't have. In addition to stronger versions of Max's attacks, he also shoots out missiles and bombs.

Characters introduced in Body Blows Galactic

Inferno - Planet Eclipse

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/body_blows_inferno_2583432_bb_galactic_inferno_big.png

  • Elemental Embodiment: A being of fire.
  • Expy: Of Scorpion
  • Playing with Fire: When you're made of fire and involved in a no holds barred fighting tournament, might as well use this to your advantage.
  • The Rival: To Warra
  • Rolling Attack: Has a special move called "Heatseeker" in which he rolls himself into a flaming Catherine Wheel and launches himself at the opponent.

Warra - Planet Eclipse

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/body_blows_warra_2583443_bb_galactic_warra_big.png

Azona - Planet Feminon

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/body_blows_azona_2583424_bb_galactic_azona_big.png

Kai-Ti - Planet Feminon

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/body_blows_kaiti_2583556_bb_galactic_kaiti_big.png

  • Leotard of Power: A dark blue one to be exact.
  • Lightning Bruiser: In fact so fast that at least one magazine, CU Amiga, went so far as to describe her as invincible.
  • Ms. Fanservice: Notably, one magazine ranking female characters based on attractiveness from video games on the Amiga brand computers and console in 1995 placed her at first.
  • Punny Name: Her own name is possibly a play on the real-life nickname "Katy".
  • Shout-Out: Kai-Ti has an appearance that is very similar to that of the X-Men character Psylocke and can even wield energy to boot, though only as projectiles rather than being able to forge psychic constructs.

Puppet - Planet Miasma

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/body_blows_puppet_2583430_bb_galactic_puppet_big.png

  • Animated Armor: Averted in that the suit he wears only moves because his gaseous body inhabits and manipulates it (in a manner similar to Johann Kraus from the Hellboy comics).
  • Containment Clothing: He doesn't need it to survive for the most part, but must remain in one in order to do physical tasks such as fighting in a tournament.
  • Malevolent Masked Men: The mask he wears is a Venetian style mask that is somewhat similar to those worn by real-life Plague Doctors (though in his case, the beak of the mask is stubby). Considering that the planet he resides on is called "Miasma" (after the Miasma theory of infection for which the plague doctor suits were thought to be able to protect against) its likely no coincidence.
  • Rubber Man: Notably, he has has the longest reach of any character in the series.

Phantom - Planet Miasma

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/body_blows_phantom_2583429_bb_galactic_phantom_big.png

Dragon - Planet Gellorn-5

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/body_blows_dragon_2583427_bb_galactic_dragon_big.png

Dino - Planet Gellorn-5

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/body_blows_dino_2583426_bb_galactic_dino_big.png

  • The Dividual: Dino is a smaller creature native to Gellorn-5 that rides on the back of a velociraptor-like creature in which both fight as single fighter.
  • Fastball Special: The rider can be launched by his mount in order to perform long range attacks.
  • Shout-Out: They have a symbiotic relationship and fighting style similar to an extent with that of the duo of Master Blaster from the movie Mad Max: Beyond Thunderdome.

Lazer - Planet Titanica

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/body_blows_lazer_2583557_bb_galactic_lazer_big.png

  • '80s Hair: He's rocking quite a mullet.
  • Cyborg: Of particular note are cybernetic implants in his head that give him laser eye projectiles.
  • Eye Beams: Not exactly beams as they come out as triangular shaped bursts.
  • Xtreme Kool Letterz: His name is based on the word "laser" with a Z in place of the S.

Tekno - Planet Titanica

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/body_blows_tekno_2583543_bb_galactic_tekno_big.png

  • Evil Counterpart: Inverted in that he is a good counterpart to T-17. Whereas T-17 was a robot that had malicious intentions for the tournament, Tekno is a fellow competitor seeking to prove its prowess in battle for sport.
  • Mighty Glacier: Justified given that he is large, heavy, and made of steel and other metals. However, he can also propel himself in order to float for limited periods of time in order to make up for this lack of speed.
  • Robot Athlete: A robot that is competing in a fighting tournament.
