A wacky, childish duo of sentient produce items who try to fit in as newcomers to their city.

  • Anthropomorphic Food: A talking apple and onion.
  • A Dog Named "Dog": They are respectively an apple and an onion named, well, Apple and Onion.
  • Friendless Background: Both of them before meeting each other.
  • Heterosexual Life-Partners: With each other. Onion even has a photo of Apple above his bed with the word "buddy" written underneath.
  • Lampshade Hanging: They have a tendency to lampshade certain situations that happen around them.
  • Literal-Minded: Due to their naïve mindsets, they very often interpret metaphors literally.
  • Manchild: Both of them are full-grown adults capable of living on their own, yet they behave like absolute children.
  • The Music Meister: The duo are known to break into an impromptu song during each episode.
  • Nice Guy: There's not one mean bone in these guys' body; though they can get childish and selfish.
  • Unexplained Accent: It's implied that Apple and Onion have only recently moved to America, which is why they both have very recognizable English accents while most of the other characters have American ones.

Voiced by: George Gendi

The slightly more mellow, but very easily distracted member of the duo.

  • Attention Deficit... Ooh, Shiny!: He gets distracted easily and has trouble keeping focus. This gets highlighted in "Apple's Focus".
  • Childish Tooth Gap: He's quite immature and has a notable gap in between his upper middle teeth.
  • Girls Have Cooties: Apple is amused by Onion's affections for French Fry, always saying with bewilderment, "But she's a girl!"
  • The Millstone: While Onion isn't much smarter, Apple tends makes the dumbest and most ill-fated decisions of the two.
  • Poor Communication Kills: When Apple and Onion go to the bank, they start to argue about how to hold up their bag of cash properly. After Apple snatches the bag away from Onion, he turns to the bank teller and angrily says "This is a hold up!", which lands the main duo in jail.

    Onion

The mildly more grounded, but also incredibly neurotic member of the duo.

  • Furry Reminder:
    • Onion hides from the police by sticking his head in a pot of soil and standing upside down, momentarily resembling a real spring onion.
    • This happens again, where Onion accidentally gets his head stuck in a pot of soil in "Falafel's Fun Day".
  • George Jetson Job Security: Onion loses his job and company-sponsored apartment when Instant Coffee's sweater turns red and shrinks in the dryer.
  • Ink-Suit Actor: Onion has a pair of Nerd Glasses and his roots resemble an afro, resembling his voice actor, Richard Ayoade.
  • Motor Mouth: Onion is sometimes this on a low-key level due to his long, drawn-out speeches. Especially in "Falafel's Fun Day".
  • Nerd Glasses: Sports these.

Their Friends and Associates

    Falafel

Voiced by: Sayed Badreya

The put upon landlord and superintendent of Apple and Onion's building.

  • Butt-Monkey: Is often the unwitting victim of Apple and Onion's antics.
  • Jack of All Trades: Can fix almost anything in the complex, making him the goto fixer for the duo.
  • Jerk with a Heart of Gold: A tad cantankerous, but also lets the pair live in the building rent free.
  • Screw This, I'm Out of Here!: Occasionally tries to quit for one reason or another, leading to the duo convincing him to stay because he allows them to live rent free.

Others

    "elppA" (Apple's Reflection)
Apple's reflection in the mirror, who eggs Apple on to outshine Cotton Candy in "Not Funny".
  • Dark Reprise: "Apple & elppA", a darker version of the theme song, where they state they're number one and that they don't need Onion, ending with them saying "not welcome" and the reflection letting out an Evil Laugh.
  • Evil Counterpart: To Apple himself.
  • Good Angel, Bad Angel: Serves as Apple's bad angel, playing on his jealousy.
  • Sdrawkcab Name: Fittingly enough, his name in the "Apple & elppA" logo is Apple's name, but mirrored.
