At the end, when baby Kiyoko is accidentally dropped from a rooftop; Hana runs down the side of the building and catches her. If anyone deserves to be a mother, it's her.
Don't forget that Hana and Kiyoko are saved by Hana's grabbing onto a building-sized poster — as a gust of wind blows at just the right amount to bring them safely to the ground. As if God is saying "Good job. Let me take care of the rest."
Gin managing to keep up with the truck Sachiko attempts to make her getaway in by peddling a bike rapidly through traffic, and managing to hang on to the side when she crushes his bike against a wall.
After being brutally beaten by a group of Hobo Hunters and having the money he was saving to give his daughter stolen, Gin is seen hobbling after the group. When next we see him, he's even more battered and bloody, and close to dying... but he got the money back. One of those rare instances where the viewer wishes they could "see the other guy"!
And what happened to those assholes in question? If you pay attention near the end, a news broadcast states they were arrested for the murder of the old man Gin met (he died of natural causes, but as they were seen beating on his corpse, it looked to everyone involved like they'd killed him).
