• Mary saving Bruno and then the boy, showing she's adept on her mouse feet. The highlight is the boy's reaction.
  The Boy: Did you just talk?!
• Tiny one for GHW that, despite wanting all kids eliminated, she remembers the little girl with pigtails who got away from her. Then when she sees an old lady who's a balcony above her, she starts putting the dots together. Not bad for a Child Hater that won't practice Pragmatic Villainy.
• In the climax, GHW has caught Grandmamma in her room, rifling for the Mouse Maker potion. Rather than call management to arrest Grandmamma, she goes into Evil Gloating, threatening to rip out Grandmamma's heart and squeeze it dead. Despite being visibly terrified, Grandmamma stands tall and distracts her so the mouse-kids can set traps on GHW's feet and force-feed her some potion.
• Hades the cat getting his revenge on ratified abusive owner, the Grand High Witch. He displays considerable intelligence removing the books from the top of her glass prison in order to get at her.
