Book 1: Kill Six Billion Demons
  • The Establishing Series Moment: A mysterious armored man appears from nowhere, holding an artifact of mass power before Allison, chased by a group of skeleton-beast-riding, dimension-breaking angels, who proceed to kill him and kidnap Allison's boyfriend. The man then proceeds to shove said artifact into Allison's head through sheer willpower, despite being decapitated.
  • The first truly awesome moment of badassery belongs to the angel 82 White Chain Returns to Subdue Evil, AKA White Chain, who dispatches multiple Servants with trivial effort.
  • Everything about our first proper view of Throne.
    • Throne's subsequent 2-page map is similarly impressive.
  • Another one for White Chain, who lies to a powerful Gold devil in control of a Wretched Hive to get access to Cio. This would be dangerous under normal circumstances, but for angels, it's doubly dangerous, since lying causes their physical bodies to crack.
  • After getting to Cio and explaining just how important the artifact in Allison's skull is, it is revealed that word has spread that there's a Gate Key up for keeps, which has attracted many power-hungry guilds, assassins, mercenaries and wandering knights. This results in a detailed, immense standoff.
  • This detailed spread of Hell 71.
  • Shortly thereafter, Cio gets a rather fantastic series of moments of awesome, starting with her resignation from the brothel she worked at (as a paper pusher) and ending with her surfing on the back of 82's paralyzed body to rescue Allison from danger.
  • The prophet demiurge Jadis proclaims Zoss' heir's true name - KILL SIX BILLION DEMONS.
  • Considering how bad her experiences were the first time, it says a lot about Allison as a person that she chose to go back to Throne after returning to her native world, despite knowing she could very easily die or worse.
    • Bonus points for going through with eating the blue devil she threw up, which looks extremely unpleasant.

    Book 2: Wielder of Names
  • The very introduction of the angel 6 Juggernaut Star Scours the Universe - riding a motorcycle made of skeletons.
  • Allison gets another one after challenging an Ebon devil to a drinking contest. Not only does she win fair and square, despite Cio's attempt at cheating, but she manages to bind Vladok into a new form after he refused to go through with the original contract.
  • The revelation that Cio, the blue-masked devil who follows Allison around, once accomplished the seemingly impossible feat of stealing a Key of Kings. Of course, back then she was an ebon devil, and was knocked down to a blue mask by the Seven so she wouldn't be a threat.
  • The king of a newly conquered world tries to kill Mottom. She turns him into a tree, then turns all his soldiers into flower petals, which intimidates the thousands of people watching to kneel. It takes her a second to realize that Allison is standing, her Key shining brighter than Mottom's.
  • Allison finally making her choice, using the Key of Kings to destroy Mottom Om's husband.
Zoss: There's work to be done. What shape will you choose, hm? Will you choose to be a king? Or will you choose to remain as you are? Peasant!
    Allison: No. I choose king.
    Alt Text: 1/6,000,000,000
  • The subsequent scene, the War of Teacups, featuring the return of the Pursuers from Hell 71, who immediately proceed to fight each other instead of going for Allison.
    • The page immediately after, which demonstrates Allison's increasing control over the Key of Kings by instinctively taking out the only pursuer to attack her directly with a single punch.
  • Mathangi Ten Meti, otherwise known as Murder the Gods and Topple Their Thrones, finally demonstrates what it means to be a master of the Art of Cutting, by cutting the angel "6 Juggernaut Star Scours the Universe" in two. With a broken sword.
    • This would be an insane feat against any angel, but that 6 in front of the name isn't just for decoration. It indicates the number of times the angel has reincarnated, and the more time an angel goes without reincarnating, the more powerful they become. This makes Juggernaut Star one of the most powerful angels out there, only a few steps below 2 Michael and 1 Metatron.
  • When it looks like Mottom had Allison in her hands and is giving a I Have You Now, My Pretty speech who shows up to shut up Mottom? Cio, who is a low ranking devil.

    Book 3: Seeker of Thrones
  • Allison informing the rest of the party that they each have one minute to tell her exactly why they are here and what they want with her, with 'no lies, no cryptic bullshit.'
Or I will throw you off my fucking ship. Deal?
  • The Reveal of Cio's past as Yabalchoath, the Ebon Demon who stole a key from Mammon.
  • "Skull of YS-MYRA"
    • The Alt Text makes this even more awesome than it already is. YS-Myra was the goddess of the poor, who is apparently most notable for breaking UN-Ogam's nose by headbutting him in the face when the latter tried to carry her off to be his bride. If you kept track of the myths and fables in The Rant, you'll remember that Ogam is an unstoppable colossus of a war god who can match dozens of his fellow gods at the same time in terms of power. Allison is invoking the skull of a goddess who is famous for having stopped The Juggernaut that is Ogam dead in his tracks with a headbutt.
  • Allison overcoming Incubus' "gift" by embracing her disparate "weak" selves, fighting back against- and ultimately embracing- the part of her that was put in charge by Incubus.
    • And what's her finishing blow? Making out with herself, in mimicry of YISUN's own tale of self-division and self-conquest through love.
  • Mottom manages one crashing her flying city into Yre-Ynamon, the center of a fractal, non-euclidean labyrinth.
  • Oscar's Chronic Back Stabbing Disorder culminates him him killing Xand, Xnor and Charon (and possibly Cat Master) before turning his weapon on Cio. It's then we find out that Lucky Felicia was Only Mostly Dead. She's pissed, covered in blood, and climbed up onto their ship with one arm missing to shoot Oscar in the gut. "There's a reason they call me Lucky Felicia."

    Book 5: Breaker of Infinities

"She will be flanked by a white and a black flame, her coming will be followed by 108 burning stars. She will bear the terrible heat of the voice in her brow, the mark of her lordliness. She will face the beast—and she will annihilate it."
  • After having his power built up through the entire series, Jagganoth has finally come. He opens with a an epic calling out of his opponent's flaws, and then ends with declaring total war.
Jagganoth: BY GOD! THERE IS WORK TO BE DONE, AND I AM FINISHED WITH THIS FARCE. LET US HAVE ONE MORE CONTEST.
  • The Discordance of the Demiurges is terrible and awesome to behold, and could honestly be transcribed in its entirety for this section. But some highlights...
    • Solomon David kicks it off by catching Jagganoth's sword, which itself was swung with enough force to cause a shockwave under him. Incubus pulls off swordmastery the likes of which can't have been seen since the last Universal War. Mottom prepares to cast some spell, until Mammon rushes past her and summons a meteor storm against his opponent.
    • When it looks as though Jagganoth is about to crush Solomon, Mammon wants to retreat. Mottom snarls "are you a peasant, or are you a king?" and on the next page, we see what Mammon chooses: king, breathing not merely fire but liquid metal at Jagganoth so hard it blows the strongest of the demiurges off his feet.
    • Solomon then follows this up by punching the most dangerous being alive in the face hard enough to shatter his helmet and bowl him over.
    • At first Solomon David seems to be doing all the work, taking his Ki Rata technique to unseen heights with a time stop within a time stop and hammering Jagganoth with a virtually endless rain of deadly blows. But then Mottom steps up in her full glory as a triune Goddess and coordinates with Jadis and Solomon to land a spell for binding immortal souls.
    • And through all this? The seven assembled gods of the multiverse are LOSING. All they have succeeded in doing is making Jagganoth angry. Worse. It's implied he's not even angry — he's bored.
  • Cruel as he is, one cannot help but stare in awe at the sheer majesty of Jagganoth's transformation. Adorned in jewels and intricate fabrics, multi-faced head crowned with a roaring tower of fire, and a nigh-infinite procession of sword-bearing arms following behind him, the red god encapsulates the sheer might of a Demiurge like no other in a horrifically beautiful full-page spread. Behold, his full collection of titles:
    CHAKRAVARTIN JAGGANOTH
    WHEEL TURNING KING,
    RED-EYED HEIR,
    PANKRATOR, THE GOD-EATER,
    BEARER OF THE WORD BLADE,
AND DESTROYER OF THE SEVEN-PART WORLD.
  • Allison and Cio take their Fusion Dance up another level, adding White Chain in a subtext-heavy scene through sheer friendship and/or love on top of raw awesome. It gives them Boss Subtitles that have ceased to be names and become archetypal. THE FOOL: ASPECTED CHAOS.
  • Gog-Agog finally gets her head in the game at the urging of Solomon David. The Queen of Worms takes the field in full, summoning thousands on thousands of herself and then dividing so quickly she essentially creates an ad-hoc moon out of her own body, completely enveloping the chunk of planet Aspected Chaos levitated inside herself. The Scourge of Worlds, indeed.
  • And then all the Demiurges save Jadis, along with The Fool, attack Jagganoth as one. Gog-Agog sprouts tendrils of heads vomiting heads from all directions, Incubus draws a sword from Mommon's chest and goes to town with unspeakable sword arts, Solomon David truly cuts loose, Mammon has recovered his faculties and breathes flames of liquid metal, and Mottom reverts to middle age though sheer Royalty. All as Jagganoth stands like a tower of muscle and swords and fire.
  • Feeble words. You lack the strength.
Mottom: Moron! That's why you're outnumbered!
  • In the Darkest Hour, after Jagganoth unleashes his ultimate attack and has killed at least two demiurges, fatally wounded everyone else and is marching on Incubus, Solomon David is knocked out and lands among the survivors of his people. One brave woman gives him a "The Reason You Suck" Speech asking what the point of his tyranny was if he can't even protect them? This motivates Solomon to the point of getting a Heroic Second Wind and unleashing his own ultimate attack. Which hits Jagganoth so hard it shatters the universe and throws him into another one. As for Solomon himself, he has pretty much transformed into a pure being of Atum without limitations. And remember, this is not using magic or divine power. Solomon David is just that strong.
Forbidden Temple Art SLAYER OF IMMORTALS.
The Ki-Rata master's perfect technique, opening all energy channels of the body causing their Atum to become wild and begin to burn them from within. Multiplying strength and power by ten thousand. The master becomes a human furnace THAT MAY SMITE AND PUNISH GOD.
  • And it does not stop there! The force of Solomon's mightiest blow shatters through dimensional wall after dimensional wall, sending both combatants flying all the way to the center of The Wheel itself. As they freefall into the Throne, Salomon is overcome with sorrow and rage the likes of which he hadn't experience since his mortal days, and with his body cracking apart from sheer power, he throws EVERYTHING he has into one last punch, nailing Jagganoth in the face with such incredible, space-time warping force, it creates a BLACK HOLE.
Palm of the Almighty, 5 Finger 77 Point Strike. "Technique of Relief: TRANSMIGRATION OF IMMORTAL SOULS."
  • Allison is left in a complete Heroic BSoD after Jagganoth's destruction of the Fool. After trying and failing to get her back in the fight, Incubus decides to cut her down and take the Master Key from her corpse. Allison is too broken to so much as move, but at the last moment, Maya stops the blow.
Incubus: What are you doing here!?
    Maya: Protecting the rat.
    • Even better, Maya's words are a callback to one of her deceased teacher Meti's lessons — if Maya desired to protect all she held dear, including one as insignificant as a rat, then she must be prepared to strike down any threat with all her might. It seems Maya had finally realized the truth of Meti's words and acted on it.
  • How Allison finally breaks free of Jadis's influence. After meeting with Zaid and discovering a shard of Cio's mask, she tears off the artificial arm, eye, and leg Jadis gave her, all while giving the demiurge a "Reason You Suck" Speech which culminates in the following one-liner, delivered as part of a glorious splash panel: "Even if I'm in Hell, nobody gets to tell me I can't ENJOY myself." And the kicker? The text entry for the panel is two simple words: THE HEIR
  • A Title Drop ten years in the making.

     Book 6: Wheel Smashing Lord
  • More of a flavor of Fridge Awesome, but during their spar, Maya reveals to Allison that she decapitated Incubus "quite cleanly". What makes this especially impressive is that Incubus is implied to be a practitioner of Head of John, a martial art which culminates in the creation of a borderline invulnerable head and neck, almost immune to being wounded. Maya still cut his head off cleanly, while drunk at that.
    • This reveal is elevated even higher once Maya tells Allison her backstory. Incubus, despite swinging ten times, failed to cut off Maya's head, which was not protected by any special technique like Head of John. As the former Demiurge put it:
Maya: That man was, and always will be, an exceptionally poor swordsman.
  • Alison once again demonstrates the virtues of being a thoughtless idiot; when Maya asks her the question that destroyed her spirit, drove her to abandon her life as a demiurge, and which led Meti to spend her life as a drunk living in a barrel.
  • Alison is swarmed by a bunch of nameless men, trying to stop her from moving forward. What follows is one of the most badass sequences of Alison just shrugging off these guys like they’re nothing more than a breeze. And when too many got in her way, she brough them to the ground effortlessly by exerting her power. She has truly come to accept her role as the King.
     Myths and Histories
  • Aesma is rather prone to these, although she doesn't know it. Not only did she unintentionally humiliate the Three Masters of YISUN, and do so without realizing it, but she also fought her way through armies without so much as a second thought.
    • Aesma gets a series of these in the story of Aesma and the Red-Eyed King. Among them: defeating multiple legendary monsters to get the raw materials for the Red-Eyed King's armor;note  sneaking into YISUN's personal garden to steal a magical plum; and, when the Red-Eyed King eventually betrays her, she hits him with increasingly deadly objects, including a planet, a star, a black hole, and the Wheel, AKA the entire multiverse.
  • The greatest swordsman who ever lived, Meti, was so skilled that she could take entire armies by herself, apparently without any magic or special abilities.
    • In one of her first battles, she fought a massive Colossus, having many of her bones broken and almost having one of her legs yanked off. She eventually won the battle by beating it to death with her bare hands- or, more specifically, with her thumbs.
    • She once fought ten thousand men, completely naked, with only a single sword. She won.
  • Zoss, The Conquering King. Using "Dark science" to shatter the barriers between universes, all to enter heaven and meet God. He found the gods were dead, and thus inherited creation.
    • Special mention goes to his first act upon realizing said gods were dead: defeating all of the Prime Angels who stayed behind to guard Throne. To put Zoss' level of badass into perspective, a typical Angel in the KSBD setting is capable of fighting entire armies to a standstill, and shattering one's physical form causes them to erupt into an explosion of white fire as the angel's soul is forced back into the Void. Zoss singlehandedly slaughtered his way through an entire city, full of colossus-sized versions of them.
  • After escaping from the shadow of her father Hansa, Prim comes across a sage divining the nature of power, and is asked for her opinion. Prim considers the idea that true power can be found in violence, charisma, or radiance, and thinking of her cruel father answers:
    Prim: None of them.
    Sage: What?
Prim: The most powerful man has the capability to be violent, charismatic, or sovereign, all, but he chooses to be none of them, because if he does, he has become cruel, and a cruel man has lost all claim to power. If God were a mere fisherman, he would earn my respect.
