The superhero showdown we didn’t know we wanted!

As a Moments subpage, all spoilers are unmarked as per policy. You Have Been Warned.

  • Just seeing the Overseer fully embrace being a superhero. Best seen in the opening, where he stops two YouTubers who record themselves randomly punching innocent civilians.
  • The Overseer successfully coming to the rescue of some high school cheerleaders that The Horde have kidnapped as sacrifices for The Beast. And after a few years of wondering, there is confirmation that the Overseer can, in fact, go toe to toe with the Beast, as the brick factory fight shows.
  • It seems like the ordeal Casey Cooke went through in Split gave her enough courage to denounce her creepy uncle's decades-long abuse of her, which led to his imprisonment mere weeks later. And boy is it satisfying.
  • Mr. Glass asking The Horde if he can meet The Beast and is completely unafraid when he emerges.
  • The Overseer breaking out of the psychiatric hospital and donning his superhero outfit, determined to stop Mr. Glass and The Beast.
The Overseer: I'm the only person who can stop them.
  • The final battle, with the Overseer and the Beast (as pictured) facing off against one another.
  • A villainous example: during Mr. Glass and the Horde's breakout, Patricia summons the Beast to get rid of a pack of orderlies. What cements this moment is that Patricia has been struggling with her faith in the Beast throughout much of the movie. However, in this moment, when it counts the most, she walks forward, chanting a firm "I believe. I believe. I believe."
    • The Overseer appears to actually be far superior to The Beast in terms of raw power, forcing it to rely on its agility to even the odds. In the climax, The Overseer actually completely overpowers The Beast before the SWAT team interferes. And even when faced with the prospect of being choked to death while underwater, he's still strong enough to shatter the water tank while holding it back..
    • The Overseer overpowering four SWAT officers and locking them in a cargo container by bending a steel rod around the door handles.
    • Joseph having the utter balls to run in front of the Beast and reveal that Mr. Glass killed Kevin's father. For all he knew, his words could have fallen on deaf ears and end up as food for the Beast, but he ended up fatally turning the Beast against Mr. Glass, temporarily halting the fight.
    • Mr. Glass's Thanatos Gambit, a true case of My Death Is Only The Beginning that also applies to The Overseer and The Beast. He managed to outsmart Dr. Ellie Staple and break the masquerade about superhumans that the organization Staple belongs to painstakingly maintained for thousands of years, all planned out and acted on over the course of a mere three days. And on a rewatch, it becomes incredibly satisfying to watch Ellie Staple's plan fall apart even without Mr. Glass's camera trick. The Beast kidnaps two nurses, giving them front row seats to his and the Overseer's superpowered brawl. Dr. Staple calls in authorities, which only lets the Overseer and the Beast demonstrate their powers against non-supers. She tries to get the patients away from the windows, but fails spectacularly as more and more inmates watch the battle. The ending states that allowing the patients to watch the parking lot battle helped provoke a mass breakout of supers at the asylum.
Ellie Staple: What have you done, Elijah?
