On Aki's route, the protagonist's former boss Mr. Kazunomiya drops in to check out the competition, and demands Aki serve him Larme's most popular cake. Without missing a beat, Aki brings him the sampler plate that has been the protagonist's brainchild, including (at Momoi's suggestion) a sample of the new cake she's just developed... and when Kazunomiya admits how good it is, Aki pleasantly explains that it's all the protagonist's work, to Kazunomiya's great discomfiture. The crown on this extremely satisfying moment comes when Aki, smiling beatifically, thanks Kazunomiya for firing the protagonist and thereby ensuring that Larme will have a bright future ahead of it.
Similarly, in Momoi's happy ending, Kazunomiya does a hasty turnaround after the Larme chefs win the contest and tries to coax the protagonist back to Salon de l'Ange, only to be thoroughly blocked by Momo - who shoves a cake into his face.
In Momoi's "His POV" side story we get to see the scathing put-down he treats Sakurako to at the amusement park before ditching her to find the protagonist, and it is very well-deserved indeed.
