As a Moments subpage, all spoilers are unmarked. You have been warned.

  • From the original, when the biker gang breaks into the mall at the end. Special mention goes to Tom Savini as the biker with blades. The guy decapitates a zombie with a single swing while standing on the sidecar of a motorcycle, followed by him stabbing another one through the head a bit later as they come after him.
  • The scene at the end (pictured) where Peter decides against suicide and dashes for the chopper, kicking zombie butt along the way. Also counts as Awesome Music, due to the soundtrack.
  • While often not viewed this way, the scene of the rednecks shooting up the zombies - reminiscent of the one at the end of Night of the Living Dead - is this. They're some of the only people in the series we see who keep a cool head dealing with the crisis and eliminate it by not falling victim to panic or old hostilities (which nearly everyone in the city does at the beginning of the film, including the heroes).
  • Francine and some of her coworkers standing up to Givens for wanting to broadcast misleading information about emergency systems to the public just to still feel relevant.
  • Peter pushing an injured Roger through the mall in a shopping cart as the wounded other man shoots zombies, and from the same scene, Stephen managing to duck under and dive through a big herd of zombies, while unarmed, without being bitten.
  • The rest of the SWAT team turning on the racist, Ax-Crazy Wooly.
  • Dr. Foster's (sadly failed) attempts at getting through to the public about the nature of the zombies (and calling them out for their refusal to listen) and the need to destroy bodies in matter-of-fact terms, while also providing one of the franchise's most iconic lines.
Foster: "Every dead body that is not exterminated becomes one of them. It gets up and kills! The people it kills get up and kill!"
  • Francine, having no gun, improvising and holding off the Hare Krishna zombie with a flare.
