Why Chris' arc makes sense
Although Chris's depiction as a Shell-Shocked Veteran who has all but given up on fighting bio-terrorism and taken to Drowning My Sorrows is controversial... it's actually a pretty realistic outcome for the character! By the time Chris' campaign in RE6 starts, Chris has:- Seen almost his entire team in S.T.A.R.S be massacred in the Arklay incident.
- Lost who knows how many friends from the RPD and amongst the population of Raccoon City to the T-Virus.
- Learned that he unwittingly sent his little sister into the infected Raccoon City looking for him, which then led to her being captured by Umbrella and imprisoned on Rockfort Island.
- Failed to save both Rodrigo on Rockfort Island and his sister's friend Steve Burnside at the Antarctica Base.
- Lost who knows how many fellow BSAA agents during the Terragrigia incident.
- Had Jill Valentine, one of his only surviving S.T.A.R.S teammates, be kidnapped and stuck on a boat full of T-Abyss mutants.
- Had Jill Valentine seemingly killed in action in a fight with Albert Wesker.
- Lost more BSAA agents during the Kijuju incident.
- Had his little sister caught up in a plane crash that was caused by a T-Virus outbreak, then get trapped in a medical lab overrun by T-Virus zombies.
- Had his little sister kidnapped by a maniac and stranded on an island full of T-Phobos mutants, leaving him unsure if she might be dead for six months.
