Uncanny Valley.

* UncannyValley: While it's one of the first games in the series to feature three-dimensional graphics, just like it's more well recieved latter the graphics have aged badly. The most notable example is that the character models look "frozen" due to the lack of facial animations and the textures look very muddy even since it's release.

** It even counts on multiple fronts. For a game subtitled "Brotherhood of Steel" there are only two Brotherhood characters in the entire game: the Initiate (who doesn't look anything like your average Brotherhood member) and a cameo from Rhombus.

** Less of an example than the scores might initially seem to indicate. The actual review parts tended to be far more negative than most games scoring in the 6-7 range and several of the reviews did give far lower scores. More importantly, most reviews indicated there was absolutely no reason to play the game due to it being identical to games like Dark Alliance 2, which were better in every way. The review score itself wasn't always that bad, but the actual reviews were the same complaints the fan base had.

* OnlyTheCreatorDoesItRight: This game was not made by Black Isle Studios, the guys behind VideoGame/Fallout 1 and 2}} 2. Thus, it was to be expected. Cancelling VideoGame/FalloutVanBuren in favor of a sequel to this (Irony which also got cancelled) didn't help its case, either.
