As it turns out, their original coding was quite poorly written, and they only survived on Disney's servers simply by virtue of them being such a huge multi-million dollar company. Even other fan servers tried to "beat" ''Rewritten'' to getting them added, only to realize they weren't kidding on how much demand they required on the servers. Compared to all the other features that were originally standard in ''Toontown Online'' that were released within at least a year of ''Rewritten'' becoming an open beta, Doodles weren't implemented until ''three years after'', in 2017, and only then it was because they were able to rewrite the coding for Doodles to a point where they weren't such a strain on the servers.
* DoingItForTheArt: ''Rewritten'' was made solely to let Toontown live on after its closing. The developers are avoiding any and all ways of making money off the game, and are paying for servers completely out of pocket. The developers have dropped memberships entirely, and will deny any form of donation.
