"Along with its inverse trope, this serves as a Logical Extreme of Tropes Are Tools." No it doesn't, because Tropes Are Tools is an Administrivia page and not a trope. In fact, Favorite Trope and Pet Peeve Trope have nothing to do with Tropes Are Tools, which is the axiom that tropes are not inherently good or bad, meaning that what is a Favorite or a Pet Peeve Trope is entirely subjective. This whole paragraph makes it sound like tropes alone decide whether audiences like a show or not. This is, of course, not so; the success or popularity of a show is dependent on a lot of factors. Few people will decide if they love or hate a show on the basis of a single trope.

Along with its inverse trope, this serves as a LogicalExtreme of TropesAreTools. Just as a trope's usage can [[AudienceAlienatingPremise alienate a potential audience]], it can just as easily [[NewbieBoom cause a surge of interest in the work]]. When a work starts to make more frequent and/or better use of a widely accepted Favorite Trope, it's often seen as sign that work is GrowingTheBeard and stepping it up. And if these tropes get utilized to quickly garner interest in a new work or restore faith in work, you have SugarWiki/AndTheFandomRejoiced and WinBackTheCrowd respectively.
