* AttentionWhore: Jess is so desperate to be famous that's she's willing to be killed for it. It gets deconstructed as a combination of the TV constantly telling her that being famous is the same as being important, and her mother constantly telling her that she's a failure. Rose talks her down from it.

* ImmoralRealityShow: ''Take Me to Your Leader'', a staged alien invasion that really kills people.

* TimeyWimeyBall: A minor example; after Jackie leaves a message on Rose’s answering machine, the Doctor and Rose reveal that they arrived a few minutes ago and parked the TARDIS in a bedroom until Jackie made the call.

[UNDER CONSTRUCTION]

Jackie’s plans to catch up with an old friend in Norwich are interrupted by an alien invasion, but when the Doctor and Rose are called in to help, it soon becomes clear that this is an alien invasion with a difference; this one is staged as a television show.

*BerserkButton: The Doctor was already angry that the ‘Zaross’ were invading planets for a television show, but upon learning that the humans are given fake guns while the Zaross weapons are genuine, he makes it clear that he is beyond furious now.

*SayingTooMuch: Albeit to different people; the Zaross had told the Doctor that they were on their third season, but when Jackie reveals that the show’s producers mentioned that this was the show’s tenth season, this gives the Doctor a vital clue as to what he’s dealing with.
