* Film/ApocalypseNow. Along with Film/Platoon and Film/FullMetalJacket, this suffers from DoNotDoThisCoolThing syndrome. Most young men want nothing more than to attack a Vietcong village with helicopters and napalm, and then go upriver in a boat, whilst taking drugs, wearing a flak jacket and machine-gunning enemies. [[spoiler:Ends up being Trope. Three of the crew are killed, the remaining two are probably scarred for life after their journey, the main character is already suffering from PTSD, the villain is a MightyWhitey who went insane, and that's not even including the hundreds of background characters that we see losing or have lost their fucking minds in the most gruesome parts of the war. And absolutely none of it is portrayed lightly, as we what kind of an effect war really has on ordinary men.]]

* Truck ads. Naturally, marketing for a utility vehicle would emphasize the physical and outdoorsy activities that it makes easier, from work to recreation, but in America, selling pickup trucks has been elevated to an artform. The voiceover will typically be contributed by either Creator/SamElliott or somebody imitating his gravely cowboy voice, the music will be either a hard rock or country riff, and the truck will be shown in either the scenic vistas of the American West or blue-collar worksites driven by rugged men using it to haul large objects, often with shots of them putting such objects in and out of the bed. The very names of the trucks, from the Chevrolet Silverado and Colorado to the Toyota Tundra to the entire Ram line of trucks, are designed to evoke the rural wilderness. Ford uses the marketing slogan "Built Ford Tough", and Chevrolet once ran an ad for the Silverado mocking the Ford F-150's tailgate step as something that real men would never use -- which backfired when Ford's truck marketing manager pointed out that it was free advertising for a genuinely useful feature.

Expect to see PermaStubble, ed, improbably muscled males, Carpets of Virility, lots of fighting, StuffBlowingUp, large amounts of RuleOfCool, and if you're lucky, ManlyTears. Most, if not all of the main characters are often grade-A Badasses and sometimes Large Hams. Expect to see somebody shout a phrase WHERE! THEY! EMPHASIZE! EVERY! WORD! which can result in MemeticMutation. Soundtrack is prone to be fueled by ThePowerOfRock.

Per TRS, the trope is about works with masculine subject matter and tone. Removing examples that discuss individual characters (Manly Man covers that concept) and removing natter + "does this" ZCE

* VisualNovel/FateStayNight: The whole Internet is GAR for Archer. Berserker drips manliness as well, but of the more brutal type.
** On the same token, VisualNovel/Tsukihime... sorta. eGuyly living guys, other than the BigBad (who is just plain AxCrazy), are so absurdly manly that you'll grow a beard from playing just one route.
** And also Rider of Literature/FateZero. There's a reason he was known as the King of Conquerers in life.

* Webcomic/AxeCop. Catchphrase "I'll chop your head off!"
* Webcomic/DoubleK is Anime/TengenToppaGurrenLagann (and other Gainax characters) meets Series/MiamiVice/Film/BadBoys1995.

** Also, in the future, they apparently worship Creator/MarlonBrando.

* WesternAnimation/BatmanTheAnimatedSeries, which cements The Dark Knight as one of the manliest heroes ever.

* Arguably, the Argentinean animated movie called "Boogie The Oily One". It contains every single archetype from any kind of action film (film noir, western, gangster film, etc.), but combines it with lots and lots of BlackComedy.
* WesternAnimation/ConanTheAdventurer. The manliest intro ever.

* WesternAnimation/Gargoyles: Goliath, the LargeAndInCharge leader of the Manhattan Clan. He's not just big and strong, he's also a WarriorTherapist, and a wise leader. If he gets pissed though, watch out. Being voiced by Creator/KeithDavid helps.
-->Goliath: A Gargoyle doesn't whine, he ROARS!
* WesternAnimation/GIJoeExtreme. The series actually toned down this compared to the toys, which were downright TestosteronePoisoning.

** An actual response to the video:
-->I had testicular cancer before I watched this.\\
Then I watched this.\\
My balls, now properly inspired, got their act together and proceeded to beat cancer to death.\\
Thank you, Iron Man.
* WesternAnimation/KorgothOfBarbaria. More manly than the Franchise/ConanTheBarbarian movies, and actually more faithful to the original books in sheer amounts of ultraviolence.
