* On a somewhat grimmer and more literal note than many of the examples here, warfare in the 21st century is often as much a contest of funding as it is technology.
** Several cases exist of military units splitting up their materiel and fighting without support because while a unit of tanks and IFV's are a delicious target for artillery, a single tank might not be worth the kind of firepower it takes to destroy it.
** Drones are cheap, mass-produceable, and present relatively small targets, meaning that to shoot one down you either need to hope it is susceptible to jamming, or you need to fire a missile at it - a missile that is often many times more expensive than the drone. Needless to say, unless that drone is spotting or attacking something critical, a missile isn't going to be used to shoot it down unless you are confident that you have enough missiles for the foreseeable future.

** In one episode of the original series, after Kevin went around committing crimes and placing the blame on Ben, they end up in a showdown on a bridge. At one point, Kevin shifts back to his normal human form on accident and [[SwordOverHead is completely at Ben's mercy]], who is still using Fourarms. It seems like he's about to crush his skull with a well-placed fist or two but instead hits right next to him before walking away, remarking that Kevin's not worth it and never was. This, however, doesn't end up going well for him as he ends up needing to be saved by the guy who's been hunting him down the entire time due to Kevin's rage and hatred at being told this causing him to go OneWingedAngel.
