* In the second season of ''Series/DarkAngel'', the introduction of Alec causes him and Logan Cale to fall into this trope, with Logan as the Noble and Alec as the Roguish - Logan is a crusading cyberjournalist out to expose and fix society's ills and Alec is a LovableRogue who's just gotten free of Project Manticore and isn't concerned with do-gooding unless there's something in it for him, at least at first. As the writers comment on in the DVD commentary, the original intention of them being BettyAndVeronica for the series's heroine Max in a LoveTriangle didn't really materialize, however, with Alec becoming more of a troublemaking brother figure. Max's affections remain steadfastly with Logan despite a virus making them literally unable to touch and him mistaking her and Alec for dating after seeing them hug. There's also some friction between the two men at first, but that's resolved by the later episodes.

** Early in the novel, the future Richard III has role models in his two oldest brothers. Edward, the future king, is a carousing, womanizing, fun-loving and mischievous figure, who also happens to be a brilliant warrior. Edmund is the brave, kind, wise-beyond-his years, TooGoodForThisSinfulEarth mentor to his sensitive youngest brother.

Seven (roguish) is a lazy DeadpanSnarker who not afraid to fight dirty with scissors and can be very badass whenever he remembered his past while Chen Shi (noble) is a naive but gentle and hardworking NiceGuy (despite being a BigEater) who is too soft to kill a demon and his exorcist powers are radish-themed. Their appearances are also different. Seven has CreepyShadowedUndereyes and his shoulder-length hair is mainly tied up in a short, messy chicken comb-like ponytail while Chen Shi has innocent, Franchise/TinTin-ish [[BlackBeadEyes dots]] for eyes and kept his very long hair in a [[PrimAndProperBun neat bun]].

A legend through and through. This guy would later reveal his true colours after winning the war. [[TheUsurper Usurping]] said Dark Queen, Vault turns out to be a [[HeManWomanHater really nasty]] Roguish Male who intends to [[EtTuBrute betray]] and [[AmbitionIsEvil conquer]] Eostia via MilitaryCoup, and turn the country into a NoWomansLand SexSlave [[TheEmpire Empire]], starting with the dark elf [[PrisonRape prisoners]] as a [[SexualEuphemism "test run"]]. What's more is that his "Noble Male" aspects, namely his charisma and reputation, allow him to [[VillainWithGoodPublicity amass substantial support for his cause]].
** Kyril appears to be the Roguish Male that everyone InUniverse [[TheDreaded dreads]], being a [[LeanAndMean lean]], [[DarkIsNotEvil sinister-looking]] [[MysteriousStranger stranger from a faraway land]], known for his [[TheStoic stoicism]], [[LonersAreFreaks asociality]], and [[{{Gorn}} bruta]][[CombatPragmatist lity]] against his enemies. A metaphorical fiend under a man's skin. At the same time, [[CulturedBadass Kyril]] speaks in a refined speech, is capable of courtesies, has a preference for tea, and is accustomed to [[DueToTheDead burying the dead]] -- "Noble Male" traits being a far cry from the NinetiesAntiHero he is. Over time, the readers and several characters get to see his Noble Male qualities, particularly his [[DirtyBusiness attitude towards violence]], as well as [[AFatherToHisMen his concern for the common folk and his subordinates]]. While it turns out that he isn't the [[TheUnfettered ruthless]], [[LackOfEmpathy unfeeling]], and [[AxCrazy bloodthirsty]] figure he appears to be, these Roguish Male aspects are how he is recognised by most people InUniverse, something Kyril preferred so that [[TerrorHero he could be feared]]. There's also how he [[CelibateHero isn't interested in sex and romance]], yet eventually finds himself [[UnwantedHarem surrounded by suitors]]...
