Sauron is noted for having been sort of a DragonInChief, however, while Morgoth [[OrcusOnHisThrone sat in the fortress]] that Sauron guarded. Each of Morgoth's dragons would serve a role as TheHeavy for one of Tolkien's Great Tales: Sauron for ''Beren and Luthien'', Glaurung for ''Literature/TheChildrenOfHurin'', and Gothmog for ''The Fall of Gondolin''. If you were to make them into a traditional (evil) FiveManBand, Sauron would be TheDragon, Gothmog would be TheBrute and Glaurung would be TheEvilGenius. Glaurung was ''very'' intelligent, so he qualifies for that regardless. Interestingly, Sauron is the first to be defeated, but is also the only one of the three to survive the war.

Thrawn himself has a better claim to being a Co Dragon than she did, the Emperor begrudgingly accepting his criticisms and advice in military matters simply because Thrawn is proved time and again he was better at them than the Emperor was.

* ''Fanfic/ChildOfTheStorm'' starts off with [[BigBad Lucius]] having two Dragons in the form of [[spoiler: [[TheDreaded the Winter Soldier]]]] and [[EvilSorcerer Gravemoss]]. Later in the story, however, they devolve to being more in line with particularly powerful [[TheBrute brutes]] that he can point at his enemies, with the position of his chief lieutenants falling instead to [[TheStrategist Baron Zemo]] and [[MadScientist Doctor Zola]].
