Meaning Zoe’s cosplay comes off as tacky RuleOfSexy within universe, even though it is genuinely accurate to what Carol wore for years.

Amazing Alice finally gets her big-screen debut. She's always been known as a heroine with a rather conservative dress-style. However, when the trailer for ''[[TheMovie Amazing Alice]]'' comes out, she's wearing... [[{{Stripperiffic}} a lot less]]. Her pants are replaced with shorts stopping just below her butt, and her jacket and shirt are replaced with a [[BareYourMidriff midriff-baring]] tanktop. What happened? Well, it looks like Alice has been hit with a case of Adaptational Skimpiness.

** Harley Quinn has been hit with this a lot in TheNewTens. It started with the ''VideoGame/BatmanArkhamSeries'' having her in skimpy outfits, such as a "sexy nurse", and evolved from there. In the comics specifically in the ComicBook/New52, Harley goes from a conservative jester suit to wearing a corset that barely holds her breasts and [[BareYourMidriff bares midriff]], some hotpants, and {{stocking|filler}}s with combat boots. Her solo series sees her wearing some more conservative outfits, but they'll usually be showing off her legs, midriff, cleavage, or some combination of the three. The in-universe reason for this outfit change is that Harley is no longer attached to the Joker and she's trying to assert herself as an individual by ditching the matching jester outfit.

In fairness, she lost most of her clothes when she was trapped on an island full of killer animals and plants and it was either the bikini or the somehow more revealing outfit Adam got her. She mostly wears the swimsuit out of sentimentality since Ilia got it for her.

** ''VideoGame/BatmanArkhamAsylum'': As seen in the page image, Harley decides to don a NaughtyNurseOutfit combined with a [[BareYourMidriff midriff-baring]] corset and a top that doesn't even cover her bra. Along with a short skirt (which is the cause of many {{panty shot}}s in that game), she also has some thigh-high boots.

* As part of EarlyInstallmentCharacterDesignDifference, brothers Kannon and Seishi Bosatsu in ''Namu Amida Butsu!'' wore conservative robes until they return in ''VideoGame/NamuAmidaButsuUtena'' where their flowing garbs are cut down quite a bit to reveal interestingly-cut skintight garments: Kannon's doesn't extend past his chest and when coupled with the ImpossiblyLowNeckline of his robes bares [[BareYourMidriff parts of his midsection]], while Seishi's bares [[SexyBacklessOutfit a large swathe of his back]].
* In the original ''VideoGame/PokemonRubyAndSapphire'', gym leader Wallace wore a fairly covering jacket and pants combo. On the show, the yellow skin is his actual skin, the result of the Joker exposing him to his Joker toxin and the same chemical vat that affected the Joker's appearance.

* ''LightNovel/KonoSuba'': In the light novel and manga versions of the story, while Silvia's dress does get damaged in the centipede transformation, it remained mostly intact. In the anime move, the dress gets destroyed, leaving her with several scales covering her [[AdaptationalCurves larger breasts]] in the form of a halter top and goes up another level in skimpiness in her next transformation with each of her breasts being just covered by one scale, in addition to them being further [[BreastExpansion increased in size]].

* ''Film/BramStokersDracula'' by Creator/FrancisFordCoppola has a ton of this. The Brides are clothed when they appear to Jonathan in the book, they’re topless in the film. Lucy being PurityPersonified is covered up modestly in the book, in the film she has multiple revealing outfits and a WardrobeMalfunction that is exposes her breast, all to go along with her sultry attitude. Even Dracula sleeps and emerges naked in his box full of earth, in book he was clothed.

* ''Film/ThePhantomOfTheOpera2004'' noticeably had a lot of the cast in [[HotterAndSexier more]] [[TheissTitillationTheory revealing]] attire than [[Literature/ThePhantomOfTheOpera the book]] or [[Theatre/ThePhantomOfTheOpera Broadway musical]]. Christine in particular not only has a visible garter belt during “Music of the Night” but also frequently has ImpossiblyLowNeckline outfits, which becomes tonally confusing and anachronistic when she visit her father’s grave with her cleavage showing, not to mention [[ExposedToTheElements it’s Paris in winter]].
