On April 26, 2022, Kametz announced on his personal [=YouTube=] channel that he had [[https://youtu.be/xIyQO4VZWJc been diagnosed with Stage 4 colon cancer]] and would be taking a hiatus from voice acting to undergo treatment and stay with his family in Hershey, Pennsylvania. He ultimately succumbed to the cancer on June 9 at the age of 35. He was dating fellow voice actor Creator/EricaLindbeck at the time of his passing. All of his ongoing roles have been passed onto other male voice actors.
