In 2014, The fourth and final volume, called ''Miles Morales: Ultimate Spider-Man'', began in the wake of the ''[[Comicbook/CataclysmTheUltimatesLastStand Cataclysm]]'' CrisisCrossover. This title ended with #12 and led into ''ComicBook/SecretWars2015'', at the end of which, [[CanonImmigrant Miles Morales was imported directly into the Marvel Comics Universe]] thanks to the intervention of Molecule Man. This was done as a part of the ''ComicBook/AllNewAllDifferentMarvel'' line-up, not only starring in ''ComicBook/AllNewAllDifferentAvengers'', but also starring in ''ComicBook/SpiderMan2016'', by the same creative team and with Miles as the main Spider-Man with the original Peter Parker serving as a mentor for the younger web-slinger. The crossover ''ComicBook/SpiderMenII'' provided a coda for ''Ultimate Spider-Man'' and the ''Ultimate Marvel'' line as a whole.

* EarlyInstallmentWeirdness: In the first arc, when Peter first changes into Spider-Man for a superhero fight, he hides among the bushes and thinks "this can't be how Captain America does it!". The ComicBook/UltimateMarvel universe was still in its early stages, and ComicBook/CaptainAmerica had not been acknowledged yet. He was first used in ''ComicBook/TheUltimates'': he was a war hero from World War II, the first superhuman ever, who fell to the ocean and was presumed dead after stopping a nazi rocket. He was retrieved in the present day of that miniseries, but this story was not there yet. So, for all that Peter knows at that point, Captain America had only been a superhero during WWII, and probably did not even had to bother about concealing a secret identity.

After a six-month TimeSkip following ''ComicBook/{{Ultimatum}}'', which killed off many Ultimate Marvel characters and initially left Peter's fate ambiguous, the series was re-launched as ''Ultimate Comics: Spider-Man'' until the comic reached its 150th issue (counting both pre- and post-''Ultimatum'' issues) and returned to its original numbering and naming format for 10 issues, just in time for a crucial crossover event: ''The Death of Spider-Man'', which was ExactlyWhatItSaysOnTheTin. The series ended with issue 160, followed by the miniseries ''Ultimate Fallout''. (Peter eventually got better, but he stopped being the protagonist of the series at that point.)

There's also the 2005 [[VideoGame/UltimateSpiderMan2005 tie-in game]], which introduced Ultimate Beetle and was marketed as being in continuity with the series but this has since been the subject of CanonDiscontinuity. A version of the game's plot and events was adapted between USM #123-128 ("War of the Symbiotes"). And on the subject of video games, Ultimate Spidey also made an appearance in 2010's ''[[VideoGame/SpiderManShatteredDimensions Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions]]'' as one of the four playable characters ([[DummiedOut on home consoles]]). Not to be confused with the ''[[WesternAnimation/UltimateSpiderMan2012 Ultimate Spider-Man]]'' animated show, which has a different premise; though as with most Marvel adaptions it does have some Ultimate Universe elements incorporated into it.

* CapitalismIsBad: ''Ultimate Spider-Man'' takes this further than the ''Amazing Spider-Man'' (on account of Bendis being a more liberal figure than either Lee or Ditko were). Uncle Ben and Aunt May are ex-hippies with May still proud of her arrest record over a protest. When Peter tells Aunt May that Norman Osborn is a bad guy, Aunt May quotes Ben about how every rich person he knew acquired it illegally. A number of Peter's enemies, such as the Shocker, are StarvingStudent whose work was hijacked by corporations, the Kingpin owns Spider-Man's intellectual property and can buy his way out of a video showing him killing a man, and Peter's own father Richard Parker had his life's work (the Venom suit intended to cure cancer) defunded and complicated because corporations wanted to make it into weapons.

While regular Brant is a close friend and one-time LoveInterest of Peter Parker, Ultimate Brant was a huge AdaptationalJerkass (and pretty lousy reporter) who barely even interacted with a teenage Peter Parker. Her last appearance has her try to track down the identity of the new Spider-Man, eventually come to the ''completely wrong'' conclusion that he's Aaron Davis, and try to sell the story to the Bugle. When Jameson refuses to run it because it would only ruin a good man's life, Betty just stares blankly at him and says she has no idea what he's talking about, because all she cares about is the money. Thankfully for Miles' family, Brant is murdered at the hands of Ultimate Venom before her article can get out, and nobody misses her or cares.

* AssholeVictim: Ultimate Betty Brant was always a far cry from her 616 counterpart. When Jameson refuses to run the story because it would only ruin a good man's life, Betty just stares blankly at him and says she has no idea what he's talking about, because all she cares about is the money. Thankfully for Miles' family, Brant is murdered at the hands of Ultimate Venom before the story can get out, and nobody misses her or cares.
