Interestingly, it wasn't the Book of the Damned that affronted them the most but Chronicle of the Righteous, the book on good. See, everything meant ''everything'' and it detailed things about good deities, planes, and beings that would shatter the faith of any mortal. As a result, the relevant chapters were excised so the Chronicle could serve its intended purpose, though they can still be accessed through the Book of the Damned if [[DismantledMacguffin it's completed]].

* FallenAngel: Of a sort. He's not evil, but he's not good anymore either.
* IllDoItMyself: When scouts and soldiers couldn't do the job, he went to the lower planes himself.
* JustFollowingOrders: He doesn't care about how horrible the knowledge he collected is, only that he was told to assemble it and he completed his task.
* RedemptionRejection: His comrades offered him the chance to return to them after his work was complete, but he had seen too much to care about that anymore.
* SoulFragment: Tabris knew that simply completing his books would be insufficient, as the moment they were complete they would become outdated. As a solution, he fragmented his soul and imbued each book with a sliver of himself to perpetually update the text.
