Some examples of this include Hinata (a [[FragileSpeedster Samurai/Swordmaster]] with tanky MightyGlacier growth stats), Subaki (a [[MageKiller Sky Knight/Falcon Knight]] with terrible Speed and Resistance but very high [=HP=], Defense and Skill), Rinkah (a [[PowerfulButInaccurate Oni Savage/Oni Chieftain]] with below average HP and Strength but above average Speed and Skill and a monstrous Defense growth) and Azama (a [[WhiteMage Monk/Great Master]] who's a [[MagicallyIneptFighter Magically Inept]] LightningBruiser). In most of their cases, the best solution is to reclass them to a more ergonomically-fitting class (Azama especially, whom when reclassed into a Dread Fighter becomes an outright GameBreaker).

Azura is a MysteriousWaif that stays on the outskirts of the team and keeps the most secrets on the ''Birthright'' path.

** While Ryoma in ''Conquest'' can't comprehend why the Avatar would choose their adopted family over them, [[spoiler:even after the Avatar learned that King Garon killed their parents]], he subverts it by believing they're either brainwashed or misguided and tries to bring them back home. [[spoiler:At least until Chapter 25 — then it's played straight after the Avatar is forced to claim they killed Hinoka, causing a horrified and enraged Ryoma to [[RoaringRampageOfRevenge denounce them and swear to kill them himself]]. He gets better after learning Hinoka's alive, but it's sadly just in time for him to [[HeroicSacrifice kill himself to spare the Avatar from a]] SadisticChoice.]]
** Surprisingly subverted in ''Revelation.'' [[spoiler:Ryoma retains a degree of faith in the Avatar's character precisely because of the comparative extremity of their choice, refusing to believe they'd do something so drastic as turn on both their families — and thus become an enemy of the whole world — without a ''very'' good reason. However, he does remain rather peeved that the Avatar doesn't just tell them what that reason is (which is complicated by how the Avatar can't talk about the secret kingdom of Valla manipulating the war without dying from its curse).]]
** Takumi claims this as his justification for hating the Avatar in all routes at first, but especially so in ''Conquest'' where the Avatar has effectively turned their back on their birth family for the one that kidnapped them. [[spoiler:In Chapter 23 of ''Conquest'', upon his defeat, he even admits that he ''had'' wanted them to be family again. When the Avatar goes back to Nohr, he takes it as though they didn't care at all, which deeply hurt him. This in turn drives him over the edge and makes him vulnerable to Anankos' control, leaving him literally a shell of his old self by the end.]]
** Hinoka sees the Avatar this way in ''Conquest'' and the first parts of ''Revelation''. The former, though, is more true to this as, after years of training for the day she could rescue them from Nohr, the Avatar elects to return there of their own accord despite all the effort Hinoka put into reuniting with them. [[spoiler:Upon being defeated for the final time in ''Conquest'', she fully expects the Avatar to execute her and is genuinely shocked when they don't, having by then replaced the image of the loving sibling she spent years trying to save with that of an [[UngratefulBastard apathetic conqueror]] who feels nothing for them. She gets a bit better by the end, though by how much is arguable.]]
** Even Sakura shares this in ''Conquest'', mixed with [[WhatTheHellHero stunned confusion]] as to why the sibling they heard so much about from their mother and elders would seemingly turn on them, or even possibly [[VideoGameCrueltyPotential attack her themselves]]. She's still the lesser example among her siblings, though, as she still wishes to have gotten to know the Avatar all throughout — [[spoiler:although the Avatar not being able to keep Garon from executing Sakura's forces might have damaged that. However, many still don't acknowledge there was a second person involved and it doesn't excuse their not addressing it at all in ''Birthright''.
