There's nothing truly special about it, and in its various appearances, it's just a generic slightly above mid-level spear, and was likely chosen from all the weapons in Disgaea 2 due to its red color. Later games, however, make reference of her fondness for it by noting it's favored by "a certain demon lord".

Notably, when the party tries to talk [[spoiler:Rozalin/True Zenon]] down from killing them all, Etna makes none of their appeals to love and friendship; in fact claims not to care if they ''do'' all perish; but instead poses the argument that the foe is foolish to let a past self's memories dictate how they'll conduct their reincarnated life.

* AwesomeMcCoolname: Admit it, Xenolith is one awesome name. It's like the game designers deliberately chose this name because they thought it sounded cool.

* ReasonableAuthorityFigure: Although Flonne breaks angelic law by fighting her own people, and accepts her BalefulPolymorph punishment, her ''real'' punishment is merely to become a FallenAngel. Lamington also sees right through Vulcanus.

* YourEyesCanDeceiveYou: Vyers' ''advice'' to Laharl in the Maderas chapter, telling him to open his mind's eye and overcome the optimistic words and presence of sexy demons. However, Flonne, while touched by his over-the-top speech, believes that he may be overestimating Laharl's abilities at this time. So, Vyer tells him to do the next best thing -- [[MundaneSolution plug his ears and close his eyes.]]

* YourEyesCanDeceiveYou: Vyers' ''advice'' to Laharl in the Maderas chapter, telling him to not let the optimistic words and presence of sexy demons bother him. However, his over-the-top delivery ends up confusing everyone so he tells Laharl to just plug his ears and close his eyes instead.

* SimpleStaff: King Krichevskoy was suppose to have a staff shaped like a long rose according to The world of Disgaea artbook.

* MoeStare: Her default expression.

* DidYouJustPunchOutCthulhu: 10 years after the game in the novels, Laharl manages to deliver a [[CurbStompBattle completely one-sided beatdown]] to ''[[EldritchAbomination Baal]]'', and for additional humiliation, let his team of [[ButtMonkey prinnies]] loose on Baal after his defeat. It's not Did You Just Punch Out Cthulhu anymore -- more like [[UpToEleven Did You Just Sue Cthulhu For Ten Billion HLs and Make Him Your Slave]]?

* ShipperOnDeck: In the game and anime, Jennifer has shown shades of this regarding Laharl's relationship with Flonne. In ''VisualNovel/DisgaeaInfinite'', however, she takes it UpToEleven by being a shipper for almost ''every'' demon who passes by her.

* FantasticRacism: His primary character trait is that he believes demons are nothing more than evil scum and that angels must destroy them at all costs, along with anyone and anything that tries to defend them. Cranked UpToEleven in the anime where [[spoiler:he takes a sword to '''Seraph Lamington''' after learning he was trying to make peace with the demons instead. [[FinalBoss This ends about]] [[PhysicalGod as well as it]] [[CurbStompBattle did in the game.]]]]

* AntiVillain: He's an antagonist but is a nice guy in reality, he's just opposed to your group. [[spoiler:It says something that Flonne's pendant, that burns the evil-hearted Laharl and Vulcanus, has no effect on Vyers.]]

* KnowNothingKnowItAll: Even though they claim they are following Krichevskoy's will, they do not seem to have a grasp on what made Krichevskoy a great and charismatic Overlord. At one point, they suggest using Sicily as a hostage to put the angels at a disadvantage which Laharl disagrees with and, considering the tropes associated with Krichevskoy, so would Krichevskoy.

* DangerouslyShortSkirt: Her standard skirt is too mini to even be called a miniskirt.

* YouGottaHaveBlueHair: Though conisidering he's a demon, this isn't that unusual.

* YouGottaHaveBlueHair: Has pink Hair.

* YouGottaHaveBlueHair: Green.

* {{Bishonen}}: He is very effeminate and beautiful. His title as "The Dark Adonis" is right up this trope.

* {{Bishonen}}: A handsome man with a youthful appearance in spite of his age and position.

* {{Bishonen}}: A far cry from the more evil looking Vulcanus. Etna comments that he's as much good looking as Vulcanus is not.
* {{Foil}}: Virunga is clearly one to Vulcanus. They both have prejudiced views on angels and demons but that is where the similarities stop. Virunga is a {{Bishonen}} who, while misguided, is loyal to Seraph Lamington and cares for his fellow angels. Vulcanus is ObviouslyEvil, isn't loyal to the Seraph at all, and is willing to sacrifice everyone for his ambitions.
