• Adorkable: Albert over the fact that it takes him over five years to train to be in the navy, and he still fails. He also fails to see through Sally's flirtatious double entendres until seconds before she knocks him out.
• Big-Lipped Alligator Moment: Captain Roger's pirate invasion on the Venus, but there is a throwaway comment a scene later about Walter having to "feed the prisoners".
• Common Knowledge: Kenneth Cope was believed to have played an uncredited sailor, but he himself confirmed he never went anywhere near the set.
• Fanon Discontinuity: For some, if the movie didn't star Sid James and/or the other memorable regular cast (sans Kenneth Williams and Charles Hawtrey), then it wasn't counted as part of the Carry On canon.
• Retroactive Recognition:
  • Sally is played by Juliet Mills, who would later be best known for playing Pheobe Figalilly in Nanny and the Professor.
  • Patch is played by Peter Gilmore, who would later be best known for playing Captain James Onedin in The Onedin Line.
  • Hook is played by Ed Devereaux, who would later be best known for playing Matt Hammond in Skippy the Bush Kangaroo.
  • Don Luis is played by Patrick Cargill, who would later be best known for playing Patrick Glover in Father, Dear Father.
  • Hardy is played by Anton Rodgers, who would later be best known for playing William Fields in Fresh Fields and Alec Callender in May to December.
