Nightmare Fuel / The Lost Boys

• Your kids start going out at night and hanging with a shady crowd, and before you know it, they've turned into something horrific with little chance of turning back.
• The attack on the group of punks in the first movie. Even worse when you wonder how many other times they've done it.
  • David kills one of them by biting him not in the neck, but through his skull. Later, there's a split-second shot of the man with his cranial fluids leaking out of his head.
  • According to the spinoff comic, Shane Powers, the Big Bad of the second film, was present, and the attack was his Start of Darkness.
  • Even right before the attack, when the Boys show their "game faces". This ain't Twilight, folks.
• Michael's attempt on Sam's life. Thankfully, Nanook stops him, but he still got really close to murdering his own brother.
• When Michael's vampire abilities start working against his will, Sam freaks out and calls their mother. Just imagine what was going through her mind hearing one of her sons screaming in terror while she was out of the house.
• Thorn attacking Lucy even though he's been friendly with her before. Him being Max's Hell Hound aside, it is a pretty realistic situation that can invoke primal fear in those that have been attacked by dogs before.
• The vamp-outs were already scary enough on a group of punks, but they become truly nightmarish when you see them on such non-threatening characters as Michael, Laddie and Max.
• When Max is outed as the head vampire, he talks about his plans to turn Lucy and her sons in an eerily calm manner. All the while, a muted, somber version of the theme park music is playing. Then out of nowhere we hear a girl screaming, making it seem like there might be another vampire attack not too far away.
• Max overpowers Michael and threatens to kill Sam if Lucy doesn't become his bride. With nobody who can stop him and Lucy's neck just millimeters from Max's fangs, all hope seems lost. Then comes the sound of the car...
