WesternAnimation Overall a nice, cute show!
I've been watching the Loud House ever since it first premiered in 2016.
Overall, I really enjoy it. I love the plot of a boy having to deal with his 10 sisters. Speaking of the sisters, I love how they each have their own personalities, and especially how they've been given character development, especially within the past few seasons. Like in the episode "Middle Men," where it is revealed that Lynn was bullied and humiliated as a middle schooler, and that is part of the reason why she feels she has to act so tough. And in the episode "Feast or Family," where it is shown that Luan is actually a good cook. The latter is especially cool to me since Luan wasn't a sister I particularly liked in Seasons 1 and 2. They actually made her, along with Lola and some of the other sisters that get a bad rep, a pretty well-rounded character, besides being "the prankster that goes crazy every April 1st"—or Lynn the "sports-obsessed jock." They've slowly given Lincoln's stereotypical sisters more depth, and that's nice to see.
Of course, I have to talk about the fact that it is a simple, slice of life cartoon, reminiscent of 90's Nick cartoons. I feel like, personally, that they've lost that claim to fame somewhat within the past couple of seasons (which I'll get to in a minute), but yes, the episodes do have simple plots that are easy to follow, with always a cute little lesson to teach at the end. Sometimes the endings are a bit predictable, but that's probably just because, well, I'm not a little kid.
They've also taken a leap in terms of the LGBTQ+ community, and how they represent it in the show. I mean, they literally made Nick HISTORY when it was shown that Clyde has two fathers, and that Luna is bi. And they treat it like it's normal, like there's nothing wrong with it (which there isn't). It's just Clyde and his two parents, and Luna and her lover. I have to take my hat off to them for that.
There are things I don't really like about this show, however. To me, the quality of the show has gone slightly downhill in the past couple of seasons. I mean, it's supposed to be a slice of life, "timeless" Nick cartoon (as that's what people have praised it as being), and I see kids in the background doing Fortnite dances, and using Snapchat filters. Of course kids today will get all those little references, but kids not even 10 years from now will most likely be going "huh?" It's just unnecessary and quite cringy to me. Also, this might just be me, but I really can't stand how they seem to focus on Lincoln's friends more and more throughout the series. Clyde may be an exception, but nobody cares about Rusty, Liam, Zach, Stella, and all of them. We want to see Lincoln hang out with his sisters, not these kids.
Overall, I think I'm giving this show a solid A minus. Keep up the good work, Nick, and please, please don't cancel this show anytime soon!
WesternAnimation Fun and cute show
The Loud House has the style and a heart of older Nickelodeon cartoons. It has funny and likeable characters. Lincoln's sisters are all very different and have very distinct personalities, so it's easy to pick a favorite. And despite the fact that there's 10 of them and all of them follow the same name pattern ( all of them have four letters and start with "L" ), I was able to remember their names after watching just 2 or 3 episodes. Sure, their personalities are kind of stereotypical and one-note ( Bossy older sister, Dumb Blonde, rocker girl, tomboy... ), but the show isn't trying to have very deep or complex characters, it's just trying to be a little fun show with Slice of Life plots, some jokes and... it does what it wants to do really well. I also like the animation style, it looks like something out of comic book and, of course, an older Nickelodeon cartoon.
The Loud House is funny, cute, has a simple yet likeable premise and has charm of old Nickelodeon cartoons. It has potentional to become one of the classics of the network.
WesternAnimation An all around amazing cartoon
I feel as if 2010 has been a really good decade for cartoons, with the exception of one or two cartoons. We had shows like Gravity Falls, Adventure Time, Regular Show and many others. But, in my personal opinion, I believe my favourite is The Loud House.
The Loud House is easily my favourite cartoon. of the decade. Maybe even all time, but that's a bit of a stretch regarding of quality. The best way to describe TLH is "a 90's Nicktoon with modern cartoon elements", basically taking the best of both worlds and mashing them up.
The show is basically a kid with a lot of sisters tries to survive his every day life. That's kinda it. And hey, I appreciate that. I like cartoons with a simple idea. They don't need a lot of continuity or all these worlds and rules and stuff, TLH is simpily a show with a basic premise and makes most of it's appeal via humour and heartwarming moments.
The sisters themselves are very likeable. Even some of the more Base Breaker characters in the fandom I found myself really liking. They feel as if they really care for our protagonist and everything and are written in a way that made me completely believe they're sisters, unlike a few other cartoons where I could see them more or less as friends then sisters.
The writing is also really good. I really love this shows sense of Reality Ensues. It's really satisfying to see some tropes that have been driven into the dirt be given a more realistic approach. Like, a good example is in "Driving Miss Hazy" where Lincoln uses a video game to teach Leni how to drive. But Leni dosen't get her license because she did what she did in the video game, i.e speed and bash cars. That's relatively satisfying to see after most cartoons who go all "I can do this because I played a game about it!". It could also be seen as a nice Take That to Moral Gaurdians who are always screaming "Violent games make you violent" bullshit.
Overall, this is a great show. I strongly reccomend it with every bone in my body. Here's hoping Nickelodeon manages to keep things fresh with this one.
WesternAnimation Mediocre show with an Unintentionally Unsympathetic family and underdeveloped characters
The Loud House was always talked on how it is a show that will save Nickelodeon and how it has unique and charismatic characters, when I saw one episode, I found it as a good but heavily flawed nicktoon with a huge potential, but after season 2, my view about the show changed and I see that it isn't a good animated show.
The show lacks any real premise since the first seasons were about the titular family and then shifted towards Lincoln and his friends, and also lacking any genuine stake to be hooked on it.
The titular family is hard to like and sympathize with since every single one of them (including Lincoln) cause troubles for selfish reasons, are annoying and huge jerks towards each other, with them ranging from somewhat likable to outright unlikable. The siblings lie, attack, insult, belittle and use each other for their own goals but we are meant to like and sympathize with them, I know not every family is perfect but when the show fails to make you like the main characters, you know it is in trouble.
The episodes are predictable since its always involved a characters screwing up, trying to fix it, being forgived and the end. The art style isn't bad but the animation feels stiff, and lacks any meaningful dynamic (Lincoln & Luna's relationship really had potential but this was shoved aside).
In a nutshell, the show is uninteresting and has botched potential and I don't really recomment it.
