Personally, the way I see it, the Final Chase of the ABC revival feels more like the fact that the contestants push the Chaser backwards during their half, and given that they are located on the left of the studio, and the Chaser is on the right, the fact that the Chaser's arrow moves from right to left not only better shows the Chaser getting closer to them, but also better shows the push back mechanic, especially for the rare cases of a push back when the Chaser would be at spot 0 in the UK version (where the UK version eventually has to add an extra space to the chart for that kind of pushback, the US version can consider it just like a normal correct answer during the first phase), and it also gives a clearer view of how close the Chaser is to catching the contestants due to whatever number is directly left of the arrow being the number of correct answers they need to catch the contestants. But then again, that's why Your Mileage May Vary regarding that.
