There's a commented note: "Brief description on how VTubing works in general these days; if VTubing gets a trope, then the stuff down here should probably be moved over there."
Virtual YouTuber, so maybe the following two paragraphs aren't needed?
Edited by Amonimus TroperWall / WikiMagic Cleanupjust want to put this out there for anyone that doesn't frequent the forums much: a thread regarding the cleanup of Virtual YouTuber got made a few days ago, as an extension of the Web Video namespace cleanup.
tl;dr troping about a VTuber's Kayfabe is fine because it's fictional, not so much the streamer behind the avatar, so bear that in mind for your future edits
weaponizing Dungeon Fighter Online elitism since 2018 Hide / Show Repliesstarted a sandbox page in response to this thread to hopefully get the ball rolling at least on our end, or at least get a general idea of what the cleanup is supposed to be about for us.
weaponizing Dungeon Fighter Online elitism since 2018I think were long overdue to change the designation of the Main page for hololive (and others such as Nijisanji and Kizuna Ai) from Web Animation to Web Original or something, as hololive as a whole is not exactly an animation (aside from Holo No Grafiti which isn't the main focus anyway), but a group of people live virtual avatars that do skits and live-streams in real time. There's also Web Video, which is described as "Live Action on the Web", which doesn't seem to work with other Virtual YouTuber related work pages such as VShojo.
Edited by GalaxyLight777 "I know we'll make it cause somehow, the universe is fun now!" ~Sana Hide / Show Repliesi made an Ask the Tropers thread more than a year ago about this very topic. although it only ever got one reply, maybe it might help in this matter: https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/query.php?parent_id=90693&type=att
weaponizing Dungeon Fighter Online elitism since 2018See Namespace.
- WebOriginal/ (This namespace is mostly deprecated. It's mainly used for memes, which we don't want anymore, as well as holdovers from the infancy of namespaces.)
So cross that one off.
I brought up this topic in this thread, but so far I only got two responses: "Real-time animation is still animation" and "I think they all belong in Web Video/ more", both of which don't exactly help personally...
Edited by GalaxyLight777 "I know we'll make it cause somehow, the universe is fun now!" ~SanaSeriously, I never understand why people are so fixate on Web Original/.
edit: was meant to be a new thread, not a reply
Edited by Freecom weaponizing Dungeon Fighter Online elitism since 2018Alright, I decide to only keep Hitomi as the only example of Unperson since she is, well, the only example.
See Averted Trope, absent of trope is rarely worth mentioned. And while I guess Aloe might counted as subversion instead, they never actually set up the trope so it's closer to Speculative Troping (this is reinforced by the fact that nobody expect anything when some of holostar talents quit, nor when CN branch shut down). Yes, only Coco's channel remains after her graduation, but Unperson is "the systematic removal of all evidence of a character's existence". While Aloe doesn't has content out of her channel, Rushia was featured on many hologra episodes and collap music videos, all still available to public on hololive VTuber Group channel.
In short, somehow people here think Cover will pull Unperson every former talent despite they only did it once.

Originally, a TRS effort moved what was in Stupid Statement Dance Mix to Voice Clip Song. Later on, I was told they don't go there due to being fanmade. Turns out the examples that were already in Voice Clip Song prior to my edit weren't official either.
So, the whole tree's pulled until we find a home for it. For record-keeping:
- Voice Clip Song: Due to how many moments from the streams get clipped individually, many songs were made using things the girls have said or done as the basis for various songs.
- Touhou Project music creator REDALiCE responsible for both Gangimari Dragon and Haachama Haachama-chama, which are used as stream intros for Coco and Haachama respectively.
- Another fan by the name of Holo Bass produced one of the best-known remixes for the EN girls,"Pop on Rocks," sampling Amelia's reading of Fox in Socks. It was so well-produced it gained Calliope's attention, who would later attempt to cover it.
- NTN made a Voice Clip Song out of hololamp's Chloe clips, "TINY MURDER BEANS".
- The "Docchi Docchi" song isn't dance music, but it's still a silly piano piece whose "lyrics" are sourced from one of Ayame's Minecraft streams - specifically one where she got lost on the way home repeatedly.
- Avilon created a House remix called "Ground Pound", which consists of Amelia Watson's stream of Super Mario Odyssey accompanied by voice clips of Marine, Kizuna Ai, Calliope, and Gura.
- Polka once ended a stream by singing "Po-ruka oooo-ruka, ooo-wa-ru ka Poruka! Po-ruka ooo-ruka o-wa-ru ka Poruka!". This was later remixed by Twitter user entropuberty.
