Not seeing anything...
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanI disagree regarding the Slings change, ninjacrat. Version differences are entirely legitimate things to note in a trope example (after all, we still have the tropes for Tales of Middle Earth); regardless, Archers can still use slings and that hasn't changed.
Also, please avoid rude edit reasons, unless you would like me to bring them up with the moderators.
Edited by 66.223.130.59 Hide / Show RepliesMessaged them to come here. Also, I'd like to note that if someone reverts one's (unexplained) edit, re-reverting it afterwards is not really OK.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanPoint carried across. I just reverted the edit because ninjacrat had a history of not leaving edit reasons (and getting suspended over it) and going over it everything pointed to the deleted section being a valid example. In future I'll just bring it to discussion and get those who know more.
@Ramidel I've got no strong opinion on the slings thing. On the other hand, I think you just reversed the meaning of the Anti-Grinding example (the game isn't tying to 'avert' Anti-Grinding, it's trying to embrace it.)
[edit: And while it isn't important, I am gong to say for the record that I don't have a 'history of not leaving edit reasons' and I have never been 'suspended over it.' It isn't relevant to my editing the wiki, but this silly-arse rumour-mumbling sure is pissing me off.]
Edited by 124.180.251.147You had a strong enough opinion to immediately revert my edit and tell me off over it. I take it you're now redacting your opposition?
Like Ramidel said, version differences are a valid thing to note and you will see that on multiple Video Game pages to note how the trope was applied differently within the same work at different times.
EDIT: As for you not having a record of not leaving edit reasons and getting suspended over it....
Edited by 27.33.67.126We don't need to have a fight here. Either of you.
Fixed my Anti-Grinding edit. Are we all in agreement to restore the old version of Suffer the Slings?
I think it's silly (no reader will ever want to read such pedantic trivia), but it's far too tiny an issue to muster any strong emotion about. Go ahead.
[And in the probably doomed hope of squashing internet rumours for good: "too lazy to give edit reasons" was the reasoning given by a former editor, now banned, who was trying to fight a one-man gurellia war against me for I don't know what reason. It was never actually true (although the banned individual may have wholeheartedly believed it to be true.)
In the interest of not dancing on the graves of the banned, can we leave it at that?]
Don't fan the flame, sire.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanI make post asking people to leave things be, I get told off for 'fanning the flames.'
It has been one of those months.
Ninjacrat, your edit was an error. Slings do indeed use Cunning, instead of Strength, for their damage. Please do not remove correct information, especially with rude edit reasons.

Is anyone else finding this page slow to load? Do we need to spin off the trope lists into separate pages?
