And let's not forget that the very first entry in the Star Wars franchise was a movie in which a planet is blown up with its entire civilian population for the crime of having rebellious leaders. The Empire deciding to massacre the civilian survivors of a genocide isn't even a Disney invention, considering that the Legends continuity had Palpatine approve of Alderaan's destruction as a way to get rid of its population of Caamasi refugees.

wasn't there similar game in series before it? https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/VideoGame/XWingVsTieFighter
Tried to do this already, but it was called a "bad faith edit", so I'll bring it to the talk page. The Scifi Writers Have No Sense Of Scale entry needs to be removed. First, because it isn't an accurate example of the trope, which is about the size and scope of space being portrayed wrong. Secondly, even if it was, its logic is completely wrong. Of course there are evil governments that consider entire ethnic groups of people to be criminals to be exterminated, including the children. They don't even need brainwashing to get their people to do it, because their people agree! That's how genocide happens.
