From what I have read, she is a four-hundred-year-old individual with the appearance of a young woman and who accidentally petrified herself into suspended animation. Once she is "unfrozen," so to speak, her powers are drained to the point where she cannot use them. Furthermore, she tends to speak in an antiquated style and has an obsession with "dark" things, such as demons and the like. She has a rather menacing air about her.
Note that this information may change once the game comes out and more definitive facts are found, so take the above with a few grains of salt. Nevertheless, I hope that helped some.

ok since the game has been released in japan I have a question... we do know shes petrified so... here the thing how exactly do we acquire her? her statue is obtainable in the third week if not second week of Spring and this is the key to the events that would lead to her depetrifying so exactly how?
guide says I need to talk to sera once shes in port and accept her request this is at night (no exact date so its like something random) but I think i didnt accept her request soo now I think I'm stuck am I?
You do not need to depetrify her, she will be there after a certain event with Sarah at the port and after that, you will be find her in the cave, if you meaned that.
