Though this is explained by the fact that the option of being able to choose to play as Sonja came incredibly late in production.

* AwesomeMcCoolname: The [[RichPeople de Sainte-Coquilles]] make a return in this title, with a mother and daughter. Their names? Bonaparte(Beatrix) and Elektra(Electra) respectively. Then there's "Sisters'" chef Odette, shop-keeper Sierra's twin brother Bismark, and the enigmatic woman Pandora.
* BewareTheNiceOnes: Being of the chivalrous sort, [[NiceGuy Bismarck]] [[HeroicBystander will not stand by idly]] upon seeing men act to the contrary toward women.

* NiceHat: Aden. Beatrix and James may count as well, though how much sarcasm one uses in concerns to this will depend. Then there's Sonja's headband-thingy and Candy's zipper-beret...

Additionally, Bacchus is named after the Roman god of wine and revelry, while [[FanNickname Pandora]] is related to the Greek woman associated with releasing evil upon the world, albeit accidentally. Violet is a ShrinkingViolet.

** ActionMom / PregnantBadass: Sonja can become both if you play as her.

* [[CuteMonster Cute Monsters]]: As if they weren't cute before, woolies have become even more-so in this installment. As have the buffamoos.

* [[OurElvesAreBetter Our Elves Are Different]]: Maerwen and Tabatha are two, both of whom seem to be a part of a [[ServantTropes growing trend]] in the ''VideoGame/RuneFactory'' universe, though neither minds her position in life. Additionally, Maerwen frequently makes a direct reference to "Dark Elves," even mentioning that her [[LampshadeHanging odd name]] means something to the affect of "white flowers on the water" among her people.

* {{Megane}}: [[{{Adorkable}} Bismark]], appropriately enough.

* BigBad: A mysterious robed individual by the apt moniker of the "[[http://img130.imageshack.us/img130/2422/26754887.jpg Masked Man]]" serves as this.

* [[BlackMagic Dark Magic]]: The Masked Man uses this in conjunction with a large - and rather ornate - [[{{BFS}} broadsword]]. Pandora was once able to wield such powers as well, though she is no longer able to do so.

Additionally, Fenith Island's Descended Dragon, upon laying its egg, promptly departs back to the Forest of Beginnings.

* [[InexplicableTreasureChest Inexplicable Treasure Chests]]: Appear once again. Many are especially jarring, however, considering that they are neatly located upon previously-sunken islands, which are raised from the ocean depths then thrown several miles before coming back to rest.

* [[GreenEyedMonster Green-Eyed Monster]]: Because of their current [[SharingABody circumstances]], Sonja will become increasingly more jealous as Aden develops his relationships with those of the opposite gender. The same can be said of him, too, though.

At one point, if you talk to Odette, it'll show her singing beginning with "Tra la la," and then a line or two after in brackets, it says something to the effect of "[don't know without context]".
