People seem to be stating as fact that the Makyrs count as demons and are therefore doomed due to Davoth's death. This is never confirmed in game and indeed I'd say it's against the evidence, as the demons burned up instantly while Makyrs are alive to entomb the Doom Slayer at the end. Seems more like WMG stuff being put on the main page.
Edited by GriffinPilgrim Hide / Show RepliesKeep in mind that the Maykrs that are seen entombing the Slayer in the final cutscene are in Ingmore's Sanctum, a realm that is already in Hell (specifically the Blood Swamps), when it is explicitly stated that only demons present outside of Hell are destroyed upon the Dark Lord's death.
Not that this confirms or denies the ultimate fate of the Maykrs following Davoth's demise, mind you. I myself am still sceptical that the Maykrs will truly perish alongside the rest of Hell's forces.
Edited by Enderguy059 IntermissionFair point but why would any Makyrs be in Hell when Davoth died (excluding the Blood Makyrs naturally) since we are told Makyrs couldn't get into Hell any more than demons could get to Urdak before the Icon of Sin was brought there? I'm willing accept that that door swung both ways so Makyrs can return the favour and get into Hell now (as indeed they clearly did to entomb the Slayer) but before Davoth's death why would they? Plus as you note even if they did that still wouldn't confirm them as demons. Frankly I think the existence of the Blood Makyrs also goes against the idea; if the Makyrs are already demons how can they be corrupted into becoming what they already are?
I just feel stating it as fact on the main page is misleading. But I'm also uncomfortable with diving in and pruning entries.
Edited by GriffinPilgrimAgreed, especially since its outright stated that Davoth created the Maykrs prior to becoming the Dark Lord and Jekkad ultimately corrupting into Hell, meaning one could argue that the Maykrs don't wholly count as "Demons" and are more independent from the Dark Lord's influence.
In all honesty, it's annoying how the majority of the lore revelations in TAG P2 coming off as the Doom Writers writing by the seats of their pants in order to wrap things up in the scant four missions of gameplay. That and the way people seem to be picking up the slack by jumping to these wild conclusions with little congruence or deliberation.
Edited by Enderguy059 IntermissionSomething just occurred to me (I know, it's a bit late), but Samur was somehow able to get into the Ingmore Sanctum with no trouble and yet the Slayer had to fight an army of demons in the blood swamps just to get there. I think Samur knew of a way to get there in the first place because he or one of the other Maykrs took the Life Sphere there when the Father decided to leave Urdak.
Edited by G2BattleConvoy Spelunking through a Halo Ring is something else...regarding the bishounen line tropes, it was writen that The Archvile is only a bit larger than a human, and the Marauder is about the same size as the Slayer. in reality archvile and marauder is more than 3 meter tall

Edited by lkakakaoI keep seeing all over the different pages that Samur transfigured into a "Khan Maykr" form for his Boss Fight.
Where does it say that Samur specifically transfigured into a Khan Maykr, or even was promoted to becoming a Khan Maykr, to begin with? Where does it say that Khan Maykrs are the result of a transfigured Maykr Angel/Seraphim when transfiguration was implied to be a highly undesirable fate for a Maykr to suffer? What's to say that the Khan Maykr herself could've transfigured into something more monstrous than her unarmoured form?
Edited by Enderguy059 Intermission Hide / Show RepliesYeah, that doesn't make any sense, especially since Samur had been actively wanting to avoid Transfiguration through the Slayer's retrieval of the Father's Life Sphere. My impression is that he kinda hoped to become the new Khan Maykr if the Father willed it, but of course, that wasn't allowed to happen anyway. From what the lore can tell me, it's suggested that becoming a Khan Maykr involves melding your own consciousness with at least a few other Maykrs as well, so it's pretty clear that Samur is not a Khan Maykr by the time he's Transfigured. People aren't great at paying attention to details, apparently.
Spelunking through a Halo Ring is something else...May I ask, what's with all of the taglines referring to when these tropes were first invoked in pre-release material? Isn't a good 90% of this stuff going to be redundant once the game is released proper?
On a different note, I think we might have to create Shout-Out and Mythology Gag pages pretty soon at the rate they're growing.
Intermission Hide / Show RepliesYeah, I don't really get it, either. It's a bit overzealous on the citing.
Spelunking through a Halo Ring is something else...I believe it’s because a previous editor was overzealous about the whole “don’t put tropes on until they’re confirmed to exist in game” rule and commented out 90% of the page, despite all of that content indeed existing in released material. Hence the citations to prove it.
Animal Crossing: New Horizons. Glad you mentioned it upfront. Of course the Internet is awesome and crossed them over, even if just a song. Not sure if there is a mod.
