Can anyone provide a source on Relic declaring that the Imperial Guard are the canon winners of Soulstorm?
I removed this: * Gameplay and Story Segregation: The Imperial Guard, in the fluff, are very much a "Smash it and don't care about the tactics" force... Unless they were different before their last codex the statement about the not caring about tactics is wrong. If it was during a previous codex that the example was written it, understand this: it was retconned.
Inanity in 140 characters or moreI'm a bit fuzzy on the details, so I thought I should ask here first. Do all character specific tropes need to be deleted from the Main page once they're moved to the Character page?
A new character sheet was laid out, hope fellow tropers can fill it with love.
The Sword that Cleaves Evil is the Pure Heart of a Strong Body, until it faltered and become the embodiment of Unstoppable Nightmare.Could we be a bit better about major unmarked Retribution spoilers, please? It's only been about a month, so major plot events like the identity of the final boss and the chain of events leading to unlocking the final two planets need to remain spoilered.
Could we split Do W 1 and 2 into seperate pages? It's just that currently there are 6 games and all their tropes on this page.
1. Tier Induced Scrappy: The Tau and the Necrons in Dark Crusade are both considered overpowered and therefore frowned upon in online games. The Necrons were fixed in Soulstorm (except for the Necron Lord which became even more broken), but the Tau... not so much.
- To explain: in Dark Crusade, the Tau had two things going for them: their scouts were Infiltrated by default (when most factions had to establish several buildings and/or do some research to get detectors and infiltrated units of their own) and their basic infantry had insane range, supposedly balanced by requiring a second building (and the time and resources that entails) to field any melee units. Soulstorm added this basic melee unit to the first barracks building, essentially breaking the Tau early game even more.
- The Necron's strength comes from only needing one of the two resources, power. While they do get benefits for holding Strategic Points and relics, these bonuses cap out at the fifth point held. By simply capturing the four nearest S Ps and a relic, they get all the bonuses the need without being spread nearly as thin as other factions grappling for all the Requisition they can get, and probably have enough points to prevent a Take & Hold victory.
Uh, no, that's not true. The Kroot Carnivores didn't get any change between DC and SS, other than a slight cost increase, but both versions train them from the Tau Barracks. The Necrons aren't powerful due to only needing one resource, but because their basic troops are very cheap if used properly, very powerful once upgraded, and require no micro whatsoever. Their basic melee units utterly shatter morale around them, again, with no micro (their fear aura took a severe and deserved nerf in SS), and can be deployed en masse anywhere, soaking up firepower and being immune to damage until they're fully out. The Necron lord? Good combat out of the box, high mobility, and with upgrades? Overhyped ability to resurrect an army at no cost, mind-boggling ability to infiltrate his entire army, under-appreciated and absurdly powerful ability to prevent the entire enemy army from shooting...
"but will not be playable, even for the final expansion pack (Retribtution)"
This needs a source or I'm taking it out. The new faction for Do W 2:Retribution has yet to be revealed.

Removed from main page, as there is a cleanup effort on Jossed underway and I am not sure what to do with this entry:
- Discontinuity Nod: In Dawn of War II it is revealed that the Kaurava system campaign (Soulstorm) is remembered as a shameful and epic failure for the Blood Ravens, and that it should never be mentioned again. If Cyrus turns out to be the traitor in Chaos Rising, he actually mentions this as a motivation for his FaceāHeel Turn to Chaos.
- Bringing up the Maledictum Daemon seems to have Jossed the C.S. Goto novels.
