Random topic about the series... but I noticed when I was playing Atelier Ayesha that the diary entries are marked with what appears to be an actual, full date. For instance, I have one marked as F.C215/ 4/ 3, and later another marked F.C216/ 1/11. These correspond in game time as Year 1, Month 4, Day 3 and Year 1, Month 1, Day 11 respectively.

Does this sort of thing appear in the other games?

Most games do not have a diary of that sort.

Is this even the right namespace? IIRC, Franchise/ is for use when a franchise is commonly seen through more than one medium, and by the looks of it all the Atelier pages link to video games.

I now go by Graf von Tirol. Hide / Show Replies

It's also had several manga adaptations and at least one serialized novel set (for Atelier Elie) in Japan, though, so it's definitely a franchise over there.

Okay, I remember that some of these (I think it was Marie and Elie, but it might have been one of those and Lilie) had GBC versions that aren't listed here. Is this an accidental omission, or have I gone insane?

The bittersweet ending used to look like this:

  • Bitter Sweet Ending: In the official art book collection, at least two Atelier games what are labeled the "normal ending", but it doesn't seem to depict that the goal was satisfied.
    • In Atelier Marie, the image is of Marie still in her workshop. Though she looks happy, it implies she didn't graduate as two other images depict Marie seemingly doing better. One of them actually depicts her as a professor in the Academy.
    • The other is Atelier Rorona, where Rorona is seen leaving town, implying she never made enough money to support her workshop.
    • A new one is the 'normal' ending for Atelier Annie, where Annie is packing up to leave for the mainland because the project ran out of money. Only the 'bad' ending has a more depressing feel to it.

I removed the bits about Atelier Marie and Rorona. The text implies whoever wrote it didn't actually play the games (or at least wasn't able to understand in-game text), which I can confirm for Atelier Marie's case. (for the interested: the normal ending is Marie graduating from the academy and her mentor Ingrid rewarding her by officially letting her keep the atelier as her own, hence the image showing her, happy, in the atelier, as a full-fledged alchemist) The other endings display what happens when she goes above and beyond the graduation requirements.

That's fine; I didn't actually write that entry, and I always thought it was a little dodgy but I've never seen the "bad" ends to Marie, so I wasn't confident in bringing a hammer down either way. Now that it's only referring to one game with its own page, though, it may be time to axe the entry entirely.
