He's not really black. He's Egyptian. Plus, the trope tends to work when someone it made black to be more scary. 60% of the characters are egyptian.
Compare to the Scarab who IS black (like of Nubian descent) and contrast with the rest of the cast.

- Curbstomp Battle: You will suffer them mercilessly if you engage enemies at least three levels above yours. They only receive Scratch Damage from your attacks, and even the most basic Mook will kill you in one hit, two at most, even if your health is maxed out. Conversely, if you want to return the favor, you need to out-level the opposition by about twenty levels.
Feels like it's inaccurate to me. First of all, it's closer to Beef Gate, second, that's sort of true and intrinsic to anything with a leveling system. Attack something too high level, and you're gonna lose. The trope is more about plot based curb-stomps.
Scary Black Man: Should we add this to Bayek's character page? I mean he would fit the trope when hunting the Order of the Ancients or any other enemy he comes across, even the Phylake could see him as one too. That cutscene after the scene where Ptolemy arrives in Siwa shows Bayek in his scary pissed off glory.
