I think this might be due to an uptick of people buying into the theory that Revie was framed so the old team would have an excuse to kick them out. It seems the fanbase’s resentment and anger for the mod’s cancellation is reaching a fever pitch, and showing support for a mod that features a character who’s removal was arguably the start of all the controversy might be how the fanbase is expressing their anger.
This is just an hypothesis though, as I haven’t dived deep enough into the topic to draw any conclusions. I’d need someone who has their finger on the pulse of all this to confirm. Sorry if this came off as “rambley”, I just found out about all this and wanted to put my thoughts out.
