The index is getting a too-long warning, so how should it be split? According to the folders already on it, or in some other way so that the entries are evenly distributed?

It would seem this index is defunct. I've found a LOT of tropes that directly link to Wikipedia that haven't been index.

Do subsections count? Story within a story (already listed as the counterpart to Show Within a Show) has a section on Nested Story.
Yeah, they do. There are some entries (e.g. the Ludovico Technique) which are subsections of Wikipedia pages (in this case, it's "A Clockwork Orange")

For "Comeback Tomorrow" I added a link to "L'esprit de l'escalier", but for some reason the entry is actually linking to the letter "L". Can this glitch be fixed?

It's not a glitch. The apostrophe was the problem. Fixed now.
Let's just say and leave it at that.
Most tropes in this index aren't worth arguing about, but there are some trope names which I still don't understand and can't link those names with the definitions.
