Does this trope still count if it is revealed to be a dream at the end? For example, there was this one Looney Tunes short that I can't remember the name of but it was about a dog who said "I wish I was dead" and then he dreams about going to heaven, only to be judged and sent to hell before he finally wakes up.

Does this example (from the Real Life page of Tempting Fate) apply to this trope?:

  • The BBC tempted fate during the Moon landing to a horrifying degree that — thankfully — never went through. While the astronauts were on the moon, the BBC decided to play "Space Oddity" by David Bowie. It was a space-y song, which is understandable. However, the last few lines of the song have Major Tom ask Ground Control to tell his wife he loves her, before his circuit dies. This implies he never makes it back to Earth, which was pretty creepy when you realized that no one knew if the Apollo astronauts would make it back alive.

I've thought of a new subtrope, but that subtrope doesn't (yet) have its own page. Would there be anyone willing to write it?

My suggestion is to make a new YKTTW and see if anyone will pick it up

Hi, there is no folder for Web Original or Let's Play. Where should I put examples related to that? Or would I be better off making a new page for those myself? Many thanks.

Just make a new subpage for Web Original, and put your examples there.

How is it that Alyx from Half Life 2 and it's episodes is not mentioned here? Everything promptly jumps to bad whenever she says that all is well.

It isn't mentioned because nobody thought about it. So if you think of a new example, just freaking add it instead of dumping a "How hasn't it been mentioned already?" in the discussion page.
