I would suggest we remove the second half of thr compound sentence "...hand, which can, over time, cause them to be adept at using both of their hands/feet (as well as both sides of their body)."
There is no evidence that this occurs at any rate higher than in the right handed population. Force retraining of lefties to righties does not in any way lead to their competence with being a leftie - writing is a classic example, where being forced to write with your right hand (as a leftie) does not mean you can ALSO write with your left.
Its psrticularly trohblesome in reference to feet, where left/right foot dominance is only weakly tied to hand dominance. Soccer players are an excellent example of this.
In any case, the sentence should be taken out as its purely speculative, and not really on topic, which is thst using your left hand gives you an advantage over typical righties in a situation (not that being leftie leads to ambidexterity)
