I don't play World of Warcraft anymore, but if you have to battle against foes AND the Geography, go to the places with the worst Geography first, while the enemies are easier; seems to be a good strategy, right?
I mean, you could play the entire thing in friendly geographies, but that seems boring. What you should avoid is battling BAD enemies and BAD geography TOGETHER.
Getting yourself cornered against hills or an abyss while battling hordes of enemies (no pun) seems like a bad idea.
